"Welcoming community with friendly staff and improving food options"
Terrabella Lake Norman is awesome! It's the perfect place for my mom. The community is super welcoming. Everyone on staff, even maintenance, knew her name in two days. They're happy and friendly to everyone. It's a really nice place to live - I've never seen anything like it. The food isn't great - not enough choices. But the chef is open to meeting with residents, so it's getting better. Overall, I highly recommend Terrabella!

"Staff Very Helpful with Questions!"
The staff at the assisted living facility have been really helpful whenever I've had questions!

"Mixed Feelings About Assisted Living Facility"
I think the salesperson didn't tell the truth about this place. The food is really bad (just ask any resident), and the management is just okay. My loved one has made friends, but if that hadn't happened, we would have left. Also, there are random fire drills without any explanation, and people have come into my loved one's room without warning. We're managing, but we're not big fans.

"Clear Communication Makes Assisted Living Better"
I suggest being clear about your expectations for your elderly parents and communicating that to the staff early on. It was a bit tricky for us at first, but now it’s okay. Hygiene and showers are important, so make sure they understand. Once they did, I’ve been happy with the staff and the facility.

"Great Assisted Living Program!"
I'd consider placing a loved one there again if necessary. The facility was clean and pleasant. The staff were excellent with my loved one, despite a few challenges due to COVID and staffing shortages. My loved one enjoyed the activities and food. Overall, they have a great program.

"Room for Improvement"
Terrabella is nice, but a bit expensive. They need better communication about medication refills. The housekeeping could be more thorough. There used to be more activities, and staffing might be an issue. Overall, good community, but room for improvement.” .

"Assisted Living Review: Slow Response Time, Otherwise Decent"
We're really let down by how long it takes for them to answer the call button. It worries me because if my loved one falls, they might not get help fast enough. The place is clean, and they offer fun activities, so if you don't need much assistance, it could be alright. My loved one enjoys the company of the people there, but she absolutely despises the food. But the slow response to the call button has been a big letdown.

"Too big and overwhelming for my loved one, lots of people"
This place was too much for my loved one. It was really big, and there were so many people that I worried they wouldn't know what to do.

"Too big for our wallet."
The community was nice, but larger than our budget.

"Food Quality Concerns in Assisted Living Community"
Look for a place close to home so you can visit your loved one. Check the food menu and try the meals. The food quality changed after new ownership. Lunch is the main meal, and dinner only has one hot option. If you prefer something else, there's a cold sandwich. My loved one also complained about the food, which is the biggest issue considering the cost. The food manager, [name removed], was nice but limited. The community is clean and starting to offer activities during the pandemic.

"Blocked visits and broken promises at Terrabella Lake Norman"
Our time at Terrabella Lake Norman was really awful. I'd tell anyone who is considering putting their loved ones in here to be sure that they won't be stopped from seeing them. They claimed a lot but after we moved my mom in, we weren't allowed to see her or visit. Please be sure that you get everything in writing from them. I wouldn't suggest this to others who are considering it.

"Assisted Living Community Lacks Transparency"
The place isn't really assisted living; you're just paying for social interaction. They even check your temperature. I wouldn't recommend it because they didn't tell us during the interview.

"Poor experience, unresolved issues, dishonest staff, unresponsive management."
This place is just the worst ... I got my mom settled in, only to move her out again after just six weeks... we had number of issues that nobody fixed ... the workers, including their bosses, straight up lied to us. Even when I tried to take my complaints to the company's higher-ups, no one listened. They all protect each other. If you want to hear more about this, send me a direct message.
