"Expensive Assisted Living Fails in Food, Staffing, and Activity "
My mom stayed at this place for a year and while it looks really good, it lacks the warmness and respect it should have. Despite Avendelle's high price of over 8k per month, the food, care and activities they offer don't seem to match up to it. - BAD FOOD AND SMALL AMOUNTS Avendelle doesn't hire professional cooks but instead, they ask the underpaid staff to also prepare meals besides their other jobs. This often leads to badly cooked, unappetizing and recurring meals. They serve sandwiches with just one slice of 'lunch meat' and the staff once told us that the allowed amount of chips per serving is three! A few times, they ran out of milk and didn't get more until the month ended. - CONSTANTLY CHANGING STAFF Apparently, Avendelle pays less than others... and it's really noticeable due to the constant change in staff. There were even times when managers had to work extra shifts since some staff members quit mid-shift or didn't show up. They even hired a new director four months before Mom left to help solve this issue, but we didn't notice any improvements. Things only seemed to get worse. - HARDLY ANY ACTIVITIES FOR RESIDENTS The residents rarely get to do the activities advertised on Avendelle's schedule. Most of the time, they just sat in front of the TV and were sent off to bed right after they finished dinner - at 5:30. Don't be fooled by Avendelle Maynard's cozy looks and nice decorations - it's only a facade. Just as an FYI, this review is about our time with them from 2018 to 2019.

"Great Care and Clean Community, Food Could Be Better"
At Avendelle, they’re taking great care of my loved one. The staff are friendly and they make sure the residents stay active. Although my loved one doesn’t really like the food, this place was the best choice for us. The community is clean, and I would recommend it.
