"Promises Unmet at Understaffed Care Facility"
My family member needed a lot of help because they couldn’t walk. When we arrived at the place, they didn’t have the emergency call necklaces ready for us. Plus, when we asked for help, it usually took a long time, like 20 to 30 minutes, before anyone came. They don’t have enough staff and people keep leaving, which makes me think there’s something wrong with how it’s run. They told us they could take good care of my family member, but we left after only three months since it was clear they couldn’t do what they said.

"Not impressed with Brookdale Concord Parkway’s facilities."
I visited Brookdale Concord Parkway, and it smelled bad and looked old in some places. I wasn’t impressed at all! The people I talked to seemed nice, but they won’t be the ones caring for a loved one.

"Mixed Feelings About Assisted Living: Good, But Pricey"
This place is pretty nice and I'd recommend it. My dad really liked it, especially the staff and the smaller community. The room was nice but kinda small for the price. We're a frugal family, so it was hard for us to see the value. Right now, he gets CNA care for 4 days a week, and family helps out for half of that time. The CNA is great!

"Brookdale Memory Care"
I recommend Brookdale's memory care for loved ones. Make sure to visit to check on room and bathroom cleanliness. Keep valuables at home to avoid any loss. Staff are helpful with family questions or concerns. Improvements needed: no welcome packet or orientation for families. Staff could communicate more proactively.

"Assisted Living Facility Needs Improvement"
We hire someone to visit our family member thrice a week to check if they eat and change clothes. Sadly, we've spotted them wearing the same outfit for days. It's crucial to check on your loved ones regularly. Recently, there's been a change in nursing management. We're optimistic for improvements and a happier stay.

"Great Staff and Plenty of Activities at This Clean Facility"
I found this place to be pretty clean. There were lots of activities to do, and the menu had plenty of choices for the residents. The staff was very helpful, knew what they were doing, and were polite. Overall, I was quite impressed and might think about choosing this place for my loved one.

"Mixed feelings about this assisted living facility, but worth considering."
Overall, this place is pretty nice. It's clean, comfy, and the food is okay. But sometimes my loved one doesn't like a few meals. The staff is friendly, but they can be slow to follow up on things. They've had some issues with the boss leaving suddenly. Now they've got someone new, but he hasn't met the families yet. It's little stuff like that, and everyone seems to pass the buck. The nursing staff can be a bit of a problem. They bring in outside nurses, and they try to push you to change doctors. One nurse was really pushy and acted like she knew everything. But my loved one is happy here, and the place smells nice. It's not like other places where there might be bad smells from accidents. If you're nearby, I'd say give it a shot. But if you're far away and can't check in often, maybe look elsewhere. Overall, the management needs to get it together.

"Started Well, Ended Poorly"
When we first moved my mom here, she was thriving. Mom usually keeps to herself, enjoying reading and TV, but she was talking to other residents during meals, which she enjoyed. However, my mom's health suddenly declined, and I found her in terrible condition. The staff did nothing to assist her, and when I arrived, I had to take her to the hospital. I'm disappointed in the lack of help when she needed it. They left her in a dirty bathroom unable to care for herself.

"Great Place with Friendly Atmosphere and Spacious Rooms"
Mom is doing great here. The place feels lively, and the people living there seem happy. Mom doesn’t join in the physical activities, but she enjoys chatting with other residents and listening to the live music. She likes the food and has no complaints. We looked at a few other places, but she chose this one mainly because it has plenty of space for her to walk around safely.

"Good choice"
My mom stayed there for 30 days, not needing much care, so I can’t say much about the quality of care. The rooms are really nice—spacious, clean, and in good shape. Her TV didn’t work initially, but they adjusted the bill to make up for it. She thought the food was ‘pretty decent.’ The staff were friendly, but reaching someone after hours was tough. It’d be better if family had a direct number to the med-techs. The ‘issues’ were minor. Overall, one of the better places. My dad was here last year, which is why we chose it for Mom this time. I’d recommend them.

"Friendly staff and great food make this place recommendable"
The staff here are really kind and always open to feedback. They answer our questions well and the activities coordinator does a great job encouraging residents to join in. I've eaten here too, and both the chef and the food are good. They also make sure to bring drinks to my mom when she needs them. The community is clean. We appreciate that everyone is friendly and straightforward, so I would definitely recommend this place.

"Great place but closer to family won out"
The Brookdale Parkway is a nice place. It’s clean, and the staff is friendly and knows their stuff. I had to pick between this one and Concord South. Even though both are the same distance from my home, I chose Concord South because it’s closer to my daughter, who lives less than a mile away.

"Smooth Transition to Assisted Living for Aging Mother"
My mom's move to Brookdale Concord Parkway wasn't easy, but it's going well. We looked at four places, but this one was closest to home, which means I can visit her every day. They understood my mom's needs better than anyone else, and they're flexible about her care. She's been there almost a month, and things are settling into a good routine. Mom's getting involved in activities, and the care is decent. We're still working out a few issues, especially with her hearing loss and balance problems, but the staff is helpful. She used to live independently until she had some health scares, but now she feels safe and can still enjoy life.

"Review of Brookdale - Concord, NC"
When I looked into a place for my Mom, I checked out Brookdale. My first impression was that it felt more like a resort than an assisted living facility. The place smelled nice, the residents were quite active, and I even met someone who had been there happily for five years. Definitely worth considering for my Mom!

"Hit or miss care; friendly staff and clean facility."
We had a sort of mixed experience with Brookdale Concord Parkway. Overall, I thought they were really nice. The staff were friendly, and the place itself looked good and was kept clean. However, I think they could do better with taking care of people. My family member was there for three weeks and wore the same clothes the whole time. Even if they believed her when she said she was changing, you'd think they would have noticed she never had any laundry.

"Assisted Living Facility Review: Not Quite What Mom Wanted"
This place was okay. It just wasn't what Mom wanted right now. We've seen other assisted living spots with small kitchen areas and bigger closets. The staff here weren't as nice as in other places. They were often chatting with each other. The place was clean, and everyone seemed happy though.

"Caring Assisted Living with Responsive Staff"
My mom lived in this place for a little over a year until she needed to move to a nursing home. It was comforting to hear her call it home because I felt a bit guilty about moving her in. While the place isn't flawless, I believe the caregivers put in a lot of effort and took good care of my mom. The managers there also seemed to genuinely care about my mom, and they would try to resolve any issues I had whenever they arose. Despite hearing complaints about the food, it always seemed pretty good when I ate with her. Overall, they weren't perfect, but I felt like my mom was well taken care of and that they genuinely cared about her.

"Friendly Staff, but had some problems"
The folks working at Brookdale Concord West are really friendly. But overall, we weren't too happy and that's why we decided to move her out after just a month. There were times when she'd call for help and they'd take almost an hour to come. There were even times when they ran out of food during meals and she wouldn't get as much as the others. As of now, we're waiting for a room to be available at a different place which we hope will be better.

"Poor Management Spoils Overall Experience at Facility"
I wouldn't even let my dog stay here. I had two family members here, but one fell and didn't survive, and just a week later, the other fell and ended up in the hospital seriously hurt. I've tried to reach their top boss four times, but he won't pick up the phone. While some people like the nurses and medicine aides are nice, the folks in charge could certainly do a better job.

"Limited space, friendly staff, active community, specific meal times."
I visited on Sunday, February 23rd. The place was okay, but the rooms were small with only baths, no living room. The staff were nice and ready to assist. There were some lively folks in the community room. They have strict meal times.

"“Friendly, Medicaid-accepted memory care.”"
Really friendly and approachable. They accept Medicaid. The cost for a private room in memory care is $4,675 per month plus additional care fees; for a semi-private room, it’s $3,825 plus care costs. The facility is about 30-40 minutes away from Charlotte. There are 25 residents in the Memory care unit.
