"Mixed experience with Brookdale High Point; room for improvement."
My mom went to Brookdale High Point in August 2022. Everyone in charge changed, including the boss, salesperson, money manager, and repair person. They were all new and didn't have much experience. Also, they didn't have enough people working on the floor. They made lots of promises but didn't always keep them. We left in November. I hope they fixed a lot of problems since then. They didn't understand my mom's needs when they first checked her. The food was okay, and so were the activities. If I had to choose again, I'd think about Brookdale High Point, but I'd also look at other places. I'm not sorry we picked it, though.

"Friendly Staff, Room for Meal Improvement"
Everyone on staff is friendly and has a positive attitude. Our loved one enjoys the activities, and overall, we’d recommend this community. However, they could improve meal quality to boost residents’ morale.

"Tours and Info: A Good Experience"
Certainly! Here's the revised review in simpler language: "This place seemed nice, but there was a closer option that fit our budget better. The tours were helpful." And the headline: . "Friendly and helpful staff, good communication, highly recommended for families"
The people who work here are really nice and always ready to help. They talk with our family often and let us know what’s going on. I think other people should check out this place too.

"Disappointed with COVID restrictions but staff were kind and supportive."
I thought Brookdale would be a good place for my mom, especially since I live nearby and could visit often. Unfortunately, because of COVID, they didn't allow visitors inside. This made it tough because my mom started forgetting us. Eventually, she tested positive for COVID and asked me to bring her home. The staff were really nice, but dealing with the virus made everything harder. I believe it could have been better if COVID wasn't an issue.

"Affordable Assisted Living with Fun Activities and Good Food"
Brookdale High is affordable and used to have fun activities before COVID. They offer good food with options, well-organized rooms, and a spacious dining area.

The staff were really friendly. During our tour, we saw residents who seemed happy and content. It’s hard to predict what living there would be like, but the initial impression was positive.

The facilities are clean, the residents appear happy, and the atmosphere has a very homey feeling. They have reasonable pricing. The set-up of meal time and activities was impressive.

"Assisted Living Falls Short of Homey Feel, Chooses Elsewhere"
Brookdale High Point didn't feel cozy for my mother-in-law. It wasn't as clean as others. Staff was nice and helpful, but we picked a different place.

"Assisted living facility lacks organization, communication, and care."
The tour and move-in were pleasant, but downhill from there. Everyone appeared friendly at first, but after moving in, the positivity vanished. They seem disorganized, losing items and lacking training. Communication is poor from top to bottom. No one seems to know anything when asked. New staff in the office are clueless and incompetent, failing to complete paperwork or follow through on promises. Residents appear neglected, with declining health and unpleasant smells. Only a few staff members, like the activity director and cook, maintain a positive attitude. The marketing director, Jenna Whitsell, stands out for her kindness and communication skills.

"Lack of Benefits' Coordination Main Issue with Assisted Living Facility"
The main issue here is the total lack of team effort in recognizing and utilizing benefits. We have excellent insurance that supports in-network or out-of-network services. They don't even consider looking into our benefits especially when it comes to medication. They issue medicine that requires copay even when our insurance covers the generic version for free. In cases where there's need to visit the hospital, I don't even get a call. They prefer calling an ambulance instead of considering if a family member could drive, even when an emergency situation is not declared. They're never the ones to foot the bills anyway, so they don't put in the effort to find out the best approach to medical emergencies. There's also no detailed breakdown of what expenses they're charging for. Being in there is like being part of a zombie flick, everyone seems to have the lowest spirit, like they're just waiting for their time. It's quite eerie. They don't even seem to know who should be doing what half the time. I wouldn't advocate for anyone to use the facility. Initially, he was promised outings and transport to movies. The first visit was quite impressive and the staff that welcomed us initially have either resigned or been sacked. The day we were moving in, they added about a $1500 assessment fee.
