"Mixed Experience at Assisted Living Facility"
There were some areas where the Care & Cleanliness could improve at the facility. My mom was only there for a few weeks before she passed away. She seemed to enjoy her time there, but they didn't quite understand how much help she needed. We often heard that more assistance wasn't part of the plan. Despite this, she quickly made friends who were supportive. Reflecting on it is difficult for me; I still have many strong feelings about the whole experience.

"Great staff, some concerns about medical care, good activities"
Overall, the staff is great. I'm a bit worried about them handling all the medical needs since I'm not sure they're fully qualified. The activities are good, but my mom, who has Alzheimer's, doesn't always join in. I would recommend Brookdale Union Park to others. It's nice to see they're making improvements to the facility.

"Unsatisfactory Care and Service at Brookdale Union Park"
The main nurse was really mean and didn’t seem to care about the people living there. The person who was supposed to be the doctor, but was actually a PA, was always busy and didn’t seem trustworthy to look after older folks. The food was pretty bad, too. It was just stuff from cans and they didn’t give enough to everyone. I tried telling the big bosses at Brookdale about all this, but they never got back to me. That makes me think they don’t really care. I wouldn’t tell anyone to go to Brookdale Union Park.

"Great Staff, Outstanding Food, but Watch for Issues"
The move-in process at Brookdale Union Park was great. The staff was very helpful, and my loved one enjoyed outstanding food. The facility is very clean, and they made sure my loved one stayed clean too. However, there was a problem with a nurse supervisor who didn’t address issues properly. After seven months, we decided my loved one needed more help, so we moved her to a nursing home. The administrator, [name removed], is exceptional and caring. I recommend this facility if residents have family to check on them.”

"Friendly staff, helpful, pet-friendly, few activities besides bingo"
I chose Brookdale Union Park because it felt right. The people were very friendly, and the sales lady was super accommodating. Everything just fell into place and is working out great. The staff is AMAZING. Even though everyone is dealing with staffing issues right now, we have some problems too. But the folks here are so helpful. I used a power chair before coming, but they don't allow those here. I'm getting used to a regular wheelchair, and they are really helpful with getting me around and not making me do things alone. The director is very friendly, and her door is always open. During mealtime, every staff member is in the dining room helping out. The only thing I'm disappointed with is the activities. We do have parties, but there aren't many other activities besides bingo. They allow pets too. I've seen three dogs and a cat so far. I would definitely recommend Brookdale Union Park to others.

"Mother with UTI Escapes From Assisted Living Facility"
Our mom, confused from a UTI, escaped this assisted living facility one evening. She left at about 8:00 pm and was eventually found around 9:00 pm in the neighborhood behind the building. Terrible.

"Facility Neglects Elderly Resident, Leading To Dangerous Situation"
I really wouldn't recommend putting your family here. My mom was allowed to leave the facility on a cold, dark and rainy night around 8:00 pm. She had a UTI, which is known to cause confusion and disorientation in old people. Regrettably, she was found much later in a neighborhood far behind the facility. She had been a resident there ever since. They simply weren't looking after her as well as they should've. It was a really unfortunate incident.

"Great care, but pricey"
Brookdale Union has great care services, but it's pricey. Before COVID, they had fun activities like arts and crafts and even brought in a preacher. The rooms are pretty nice.

"Mixed Feelings About Assisted Living"
I visited this assisted living facility in 2014 when my mom was sick. It seemed okay, but I worried about the costs, so we kept both parents at home.

"Friendly Tour with Informative Staff"
I had a great tour of this community. The people were friendly, and everything looked nice. The staff answered all my questions, but they didn’t have a respite opening at the moment.”

"Great tour, wonderful community, but too expensive."
I had a great tour of this place and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for assisted living for their loved one. They have a wonderful community with many great amenities for their residents, including meals and activities. When we were ready to sign the contract, we sat down with the nurse and realized it was way out of our budget for the care they would provide my mother.

"Pleasant Place, Great Food, No Solo Rooms, Near Hospital"
The living center has a nice vibe, and they’re really happy with the meals they serve. However, there aren’t any single rooms available. I’m a fan of the spot because it works for me and it’s super close to Union Memorial Hospital.

"Safe, Clean, and Caring Community"
My mother-in-law loves living here. She chose to move in, and it's been a positive experience so far. It took some time for our whole family to adjust, but we're confident she's in a good place. The community is really beautiful, and they work hard to keep everything clean. The staff is excellent, especially the director, Ingrid she's amazing. We feel reassured knowing she's safe and well cared for. I definitely recommend this community; it's a great place to be.

"Short Stint at Assisted Living Facility Turns Nightmarish"
At first, I looked forward to using this assisted living facility for my mom while we traveled abroad for two weeks. But once we returned, things went downhill quickly. Aside from them wrongly accusing us of mistreatment, which social services consequently dismissed, they also billed us $146 for medications that her doctor confirmed she no longer needed. This facility seems better suited for long-term stays, despite their best attempts to accommodate short-term guests. My mom's doctors and her home health services were our saving grace. I won't be relying on this facility again!

"Quick move-in, great staff, husband likes food and activities."
This community is awesome—they got my husband in within 24 hours and made the process less stressful. The staff were great with our family and encouraged him to be more social. He liked the food. They offer daily activities, and the place is clean.
