"Mixed Communication at Addison Assisted Living"

The staff is hard to reach. Calls often go unanswered during business hours, and messages aren’t returned. Sometimes we have to visit in person. Overall, we’re satisfied, and the Addison suits our Aunt well.

"Dining and Social Activities Brighten Our Loved One's Day"

The dining experience has been great because she enjoys the people at her table, and it's helping her settle in and cheering her up. The art teacher noticed her talent, which made her happy since she was an art major in college. It's hard to say about the value since I'm not familiar with other assisted living places. Overall, my husband (her brother) and I are pleased that she is starting to cheer up and open up to people and activities. The director has been helpful. Our loved one is a bit disappointed in the same food every day (eggs and bacon or the same cereal), but it's good that she has a low-salt diet. One other thing – you got her to the hospital and doctor in an emergency. We're glad about that. Overall, we're pleased.

"Disappointed with Changes at The Addison of Knightdale"

My family member lived at The Addison of Knightdale. They got new management that changed my opinion. At first, the staff were caring. But when they changed staff and management, we had problems. They didn't give her the right medicine and they bothered her about her behavior. Eventually, they made her leave. She went to another place and has been fine. I think the new director is dishonest. They just wanted our money and made my loved one leave. I wouldn't tell anyone to go there. It was a really bad experience.

"Short Stay with Loving Team"

My sister stayed at the facility for about a month. We understood she needed full nursing care and had to relocate her. The team who looked after my sister during her brief stay were very caring and paid close attention to her needs.

"Mixed Experience with Communication, Overall Satisfactory Assisted Living"

They do well with the things listed above. My only issue is with communication. It's hard to meet them in person and they don't call back promptly. Depending on your needs, I would recommend this facility. Families needing more attention might not find The Addison attentive enough. We're not micromanagers and are resilient. Expectations vary among people.

"Affordable but cozy community; rooms smaller than expected."

This community was nice. The rooms were smaller than we expected, and it was more expensive than what we had planned to spend for our loved one.

"Assisted Living Facility: Disorder, Neglect, and Poor Communication"

This place had way too many inconsistencies. The receptionist was super snobby. Some staff were friendly, while others totally weren't. My family member was left by themselves for a long time, even winding up outside all alone. There was a serious problem with communication, especially with the head nurse. She wouldn't explain anything when my loved one needed a mental health evaluation. There was even a time when they refused to give me my family member's medicine. Sometimes, they'd let patients sleep in, skipping their usual routine and even missing a meal. Sure, the residents would go outside to the garden, watch TV, or puzzle-solving, but there was absolutely no real bond or interaction with them. It was like no one really cared about watching over them.

"Small Rooms, Big Concerns"

The person who showed us around was really friendly and useful. We decided not to choose The Addison because the rooms were tiny. They said they designed them that way to encourage residents to be out and about, but my mom wouldn’t have been happy.

"Poor staffing and food at this assisted living facility"

This place just wasn't professional at all. It really went south with the memory care team. I don't know about the assisted living side. The building itself isn't horrible, but it could definitely use some improvements. The real problem is the admin staff; things won't get better until there are some changes made there. Oh, and the food wasn't great either.

"Mixed Feelings on Assisted Living Experience"

This place is alright for your loved one. It's my first time dealing with a community like this. Right now, they don't have activities because of COVID and quarantine. My loved one really enjoys the meals. They don't make the residents get vaccinated, but they are making sure all the staff get vaccinated because there was recently an outbreak.

"Disappointed in Post-Care Treatment at Assisted Living Facility"

My family member stayed at this facility for a month and a half, even though we had paid for two full months. There's still no refund for the two weeks not utilized. I asked the management for assistance regarding long term care insurance, but they didn't help me at all. I constantly have to call them and it feels like I'm being ignored. My patience is growing thin. Initially, they were a pleasure to work with and the place was clean and friendly when my loved one was staying there. The food was decent, not spectacular. It's disappointing, really. If they had assisted me with the insurance and given me my refund, it wouldn't have been so bad. But their actions make me feel like, after we've left, the only thing they care about is the money.
