"Assisted Living Facility Needs Improvement"
Some of the staff are nice and caring, but the managers don’t seem to care much, and the staff don’t seem well-trained. It takes a long time for residents to get help when they ring the call bell. Also, the hallways smell strongly of urine, which is really gross.

"Friendly, close, and private rooms"
The community is awesome and super friendly. I got my own room and it's close to my house.

"Mixed Experience at Assisted Living"
Mostly good, but some hiccups. Staff is friendly, but laundry and maintenance need improvement. Activities are decent.

"Chatham Ridge: Good, but Remember Memory Care Isn’t One-on-One"
Sometimes it’s tough to get information, and staff changes a lot, so they might not always know what’s happening. They’re trying to improve, but it can be disappointing. I’d suggest Chatham Ridge, but remember that memory care isn’t one-on-one—you’ll still need to do some things yourself.

"Subpar Care and Unexpected Costs at Assisted Living Facility"
I strongly urge folks not to send their loved ones here. If I had the ability, I'd rate them zero stars. The experience was dreadful and I encourage people to extensively review and question the facility's practices before doing more than just touring. It's vital to have a thorough understanding of their services, particularly in memory care. In just 5 months, my mom ended up in the emergency room 5 times. In the 8 months since she left, she's only had a single respiratory infection. During her stay at Chatham Ridge, they insisted on additional payment for 1:1 care. It's utterly unsettling and terrible in my experience.

"“Choose Wisely: Elderly Care Matters”"
We chose this place because we didn’t have many options. The whole system needs to get better. Older folks need more people to speak up for them. To other families considering this community, remember that appearances can be deceiving—you must ensure your loved one is well cared for and never give up.

"Inadequate Staffing and Training at Chatham Ridge Assisted Living"
Chatham Ridge might seem perfect at first, which is why we chose it for our family member. But, they truly don't have enough staff and the staff they do have need more training. We seriously advise other families to not just choose this place because it looks nice or from a single visit. We recommend asking them a lot of tough, detailed questions to make sure your loved one will receive the care and attention they deserve.

"More Food Choices Needed Better Monitoring Required"
My family and I feel like we don't get enough of the right food. It should be watched more closely. For example, one meal they gave my relative a small chicken leg and a tiny scoop of mixed vegetables. There was also a small bun. They did give another piece of chicken when asked, but many residents won't ask for more, so they end up not getting enough sometimes. They don't offer choices or ask what residents like or don't like about the food. They should make meals more personalized.

"Grandma's Health Suffers in Poorly Run Senior Living Facility"
My grandma, age 85, was in Chatham Ridge for two months. In those months, her health got really bad. She used to be active but had memory problems. Afterwards, she couldn't move and was stuck in a wheelchair. Here's what happened: 1- She wasn't bathed and rarely had her clothes changed. In two months, I remember only one bath. Other people living there walked around with dirty diapers, sometimes even smearing poop on walls. 2- They had to send her to the hospital seven times in those two months! 3- A member of our family and a friend visited once and found a worker sitting on her lap trying to keep her from standing up. 5- Within the first few days, things like her purse, fake teeth, glasses, and phone went missing and were never found. 6- The people taking care of them didn't seem to care much about what was going on with her. 8- The person in charge wouldn't answer my calls. Later, I found out she had quit.

"Average Facility with Caring Staff, But Room for Improvement"
Chatham Ridge is like other places I checked—pretty average. The caregivers are good, trying their best within company limits. Yet, they lack motivation. Sadly, my loved one faced a tough living situation with a neighbor not getting proper care. I had to move them elsewhere. Maybe if they had a private room, things could've been better. But the staff interaction was lacking for my loved one's needs.

"New Management, Staffing Issues, Improving Food"
Here's the review rewritten in 8th grade level American English: 'Right now, they're really struggling with keeping enough staff. The ones that are there are a mix of good and not so good. The food wasn't great at first, but it's starting to improve. They seem to have a hard time holding onto kitchen workers. The place itself is alright. There's new management recently, and it's too soon to tell how that will turn out. I'm not sure what they think about certain issues or if things will get better.

"Dreadful Nursing Care and Broken Promises at Assisted Living Facility"
This assisted living center fails spectacularly at providing decent care. My mom was ill for long, but the nurse ignored her, behaving rudely when I brought it up. Even after raising issues with the executive director, it was a struggle to ensure my mother saw a doctor. This wasn't a one-time thing, either. I've heard others gripe about not bathing their loved ones for days. Medication errors are frequent, and the food is awful and not worth the price - often not matching with the menu. The rent shot up [amount removed] at the start of the year with promises of better conditions but it got worse after Navion took over. I urge you not to place family here, it's a regret waiting to happen.

"Staff Quality and Oversight Matter”"
Most staff are really good. Taking care of memory care patients is tough. Make a care plan and review it every 2 weeks to ensure changing needs are addressed. Remember, no place is perfect; oversee your loved one’s care. Higher staff-to-resident ratio desired.

"Kind staff, good food, and flexible with activities"
We've really appreciated how welcoming they've been. They’ve been wonderful and kind in helping our mom, who is still at home while her husband is in memory care here. One thing that could be improved is the staff level. Sometimes, if there were just one more person, things could have gone smoother. But Dad loves the food. It’s a good variety and high quality. They offer many great activities, mostly in the morning or early afternoon. Sometimes, the late afternoon activities don’t match the schedule, but that might be part of dementia care, adapting to the people and the situation. On the bright side, they’re flexible. For example, if we want to take Dad for a walk, they never say, "No, you can't do that. We're busy." That has been really nice.

"Good Value and Smooth Transition at Chatham Ridge Assisted Living"
We chose Chatham Ridge because it offers good value for the money. The facility is quite new, which makes it feel like a fresh place to live. It's also conveniently close to my dad's hometown. When he moved from the hospital to here, they made it easy for us and for him. The rooms are a good size; he has his own private room that fits his needs well. They offer a program with doctors, but since the VA covers his medical needs, we haven't used it. We've had a few problems, but overall, I would recommend it to others who are looking.

" "Disappointing Care at Assisted Living Facility""
My family member was meant to stay at this facility for 10 days, which we had paid for, but he only stayed for 4. After he fell and broke the headboard, it didn't seem like the staff cared. He was staying in the memory care section. I noticed that some of the employees didn't seem as worried about the residents as they should've been. It felt like they weren't keeping a good watch on the memory care people. I even saw one of the residents trying to leave one time. And there was this one lady who kept lying on my family member's roommate’s bed, so the staff had to keep on moving her. Plus, there was this strange smell in the memory care area, different from the other areas. I finally told the staff that I wanted to take my husband home. At first, they didn't want him to leave. But this place just wasn't a good fit for my husband. I wouldn't think of putting my family member back into this facility ever again.

Chatham Ridge’s memory care unit is beautiful! It smells clean, with lovely wall designs, bright colors, and cheerful pictures. The staff is super helpful and attentive. The activities director is tech-savvy and keeps residents active. Highly recommend!”
