"Small, Friendly Assisted Living with Good Amenities and Community Atmosphere"

This facility is nice overall. It's smaller, which is better for those who prefer a cozy environment. With fewer residents, people seem to know each other well. The staff is very friendly, helpful, and always ready to assist. Communication with the family is quite good. They clean regularly, and the place is consistently tidy. Recently remodeled, it looks updated and modern. The food is tasty and offers a good variety. Activities are average but enjoyable. Depending on who I talked to and what they wanted, I'd recommend this place to family and friends.

"Adjusting to New Management"

After we looked around, the issue for us was that they just got new bosses. The place was sold and they were starting to do things differently. When I spoke with the workers, it seemed like they weren’t really happy with the new rules that were being put in place.

"Visiting Confusion at Assisted Living Facility"

The rooms in the community are nice, and we didn't have any complaints. However, there was some confusion on more than one occasion regarding visiting. They're trying to adjust visits due to COVID, but both personal and virtual visits had timing issues.

"Mixed Experience with Medication, Otherwise Recommended"

The staff in charge was easy to talk to and very helpful. We only had one problem, which was with how they gave out medicines. Overall, I would suggest this place to other people.

"Great Care at Affordable Assisted Living Facility"

My family member stayed in the memory care unit at Elmcroft of Little Avenue. It was one of the less expensive places, but the care was really good. The nurses always answered our calls and questions quickly.

"Pleased with Tour and Memory Care Options"

I visited with [name removed], and she was super kind. She took her time to show me all the cool stuff they have. This was the first place I checked out because some folks said it was good, and they were right! It’s not a huge place, but there’s a lot to do. I looked at the Memory Care area, and the rooms looked pretty good. They’re one of my top choices since I just started looking around.

"Assisted Living Community: Deceptive, Dim, and Not Genuine"

At first glance, this assisted living facility seems like a charming little community. But once you go inside, everything is pretty dark and gloomy. It's not well-lit at all, making it feel old and out of date. In some parts of the place, it smells pretty gross. The memory care area is nice, but all the people who live there are stuck in wheelchairs and they don't do much. Walking around, the staff seem friendly but it doesn't feel real. It seems like they only show you the best rooms, not what you'd really get. The people running the place don't act professional. The person in charge of marketing seems like she's trying too hard, like she's just there to make a sale. All in all, I definitely wouldn't call this one of the best facilities of its kind.

"Elmcroft: A Caring, Homey Place Where Dad Feels Happy"

When it was time for Dad to get extra care, we checked out many places. Some were really nice, and some weren’t. But when we visited Elmcroft, it felt more like a home for him. It’s a bit smaller than other places we saw, but the staff are friendly and know each person well. Dad quickly figured out how to get around and find his favorite spots. There are lots of activities like outings, games, church services, exercise classes, family dinners, and special programs. It feels like home to him now. Family is always welcome to visit or join for meals. They answer every question and take good care of everyone. We’re very happy with Elmcroft, and the best part is that Dad is happy there too.

"Mixed Experience: Smell Issues in Memory Care"

Memory Care smelled like pee, but Assisted Living was nice.

"Small Kitchen with Microwave and Mini Fridge"

I took a nice tour of the community and saw the apartment they had. Unfortunately, it was too cramped for a walker. The kitchen area was small, with just a microwave and a tiny mini fridge. Overall, it didn’t work well.

"Decent facility, but wrong location for loved one."

I visited this place with my family for my loved one. Everything went fine. The staff knew a lot about what they were talking about and answered all our questions well. The building layout was nice and had cool stuff. But, in the end, we decided it wasn't the right place because of its location.

"Clean, Happy Residents, Limited Information"

I was supposed to meet with a lady, but she wasn't there when I arrived. Instead, a nice man who worked in maintenance gave us the tour. He couldn't answer all our questions. The place was clean, and the people living there looked nice and happy. The maintenance guy didn't know about prices, but he said they don't have any available beds right now.

Had a great tour; community looked great and well-maintained.

"Not quite up to par!"

This place isn't as fancy as the others we checked. They didn't have the kind of beds we wanted for my mom, so she couldn't have a roommate. We did see some people there doing activities.

"Nice facility, overall."

At Elmcroft of Little Avenue, the friendly and professional staff do a good job looking out for residents. However, having on-site medical personnel 24/7 would improve peace of mind.

"Warm and Caring Community for Loved Ones"

The staff at Elmcroft of Little Avenue is incredibly friendly and really gets to know the residents well. They make me feel very comfortable that my mom is being well taken care of. The friendliness of the staff is very important to me, and they excel in this area. The value of the facility is also excellent, and overall, it's a nice community. Everything has been going great, and I would recommend this facility to anyone.

"Elmcroft: Compassionate Care and Hopeful Support"

My friend Joe Goodnight tried other places, but Elmcroft accepted him. They assessed his needs and even planned for more care if necessary. Unfortunately, Joe’s Parkinson’s got worse, and he had to leave. But the Elmcroft staff still cares about him. I appreciate that.

"Good care and happy residents make Elmcroft a top choice"

I looked at many places in Charlotte for my mom, both independent and assisted living. Elmcroft gave me a good feeling right away. Their staff has been there for a long time, which is really important. One staff member has been there since they opened! That shows a lot about how the place is run. The residents seemed happy, the staff is kind, and they really involve the residents in activities. I visited twice unexpectedly and was impressed both times. I especially liked their care management system, which I didn’t see anywhere else. They offer physical therapy on-site and have regular weekly outings. The facility itself isn’t fancy, but I’ve learned that what’s inside really matters. They genuinely care about their residents, which is clear. I’ve seen beautiful places where I wouldn’t leave my mom, but I’d have no problem with her living here. She’s not ready for assisted living yet, but if she needs it, I know where to go.

"Headline"

Maybe Medicaid covers Memory Care. Rooms are big, great atmosphere, but prices a bit high. Large studio options. Potential move-in fee discount.

"Easygoing and responsive staff; loved one enjoys the food."

The place is pretty good. The food is nice, and my family member really enjoys it. I can't really think of anything that needs to be better. They're really easy to talk to and get in touch with.

"Highly Ranked Community with Friendly Atmosphere"

I visited this community when searching for care for my loved one. While it didn't crack our top 3, it was still one of the best places we saw among many. It looked really nice, and everyone there was very friendly. I wasn't too impressed with the activities and programs for someone less mobile, but overall, it seemed top-notch.

"Wonderful respite care experience for both Mom and me!"

Our visit to Elmcroft for my mother’s respite care was great from start to finish. When I came to pick her up, she said I could leave her there if I wanted to! I’ll definitely choose Elmcroft again if I need to be away for a few days. She made several friends in just a week, ate well, and learned her way around quickly. The staff were very friendly and knew her by name. I felt confident leaving her in their care while we were abroad. Thanks to everyone at Elmcroft!

"Mixed feelings about Elmcorft's care level."

We enjoyed Elmcorft until they told us Dad's care was top-tier. We assumed memory care included dressing, bathing, and toileting, but they consider it extra.

"Well-Kept Assisted Living with Parking, Pedestrian Traffic"

This place is kinda old but it's kept up well. It's on a busy street with lots of parking and people walking around. The rooms they showed me were clean and ready to move into. Also, every room has two panic cords, one in the bedroom and one in the bathroom.
