"Mixed Impressions at TerraBella Southern Pines"
We visited TerraBella Southern Pines while looking for a place for our loved one. The tour was nice, and the facility seemed decent. Cleanliness and friendliness were average.

"More Activities Needed for Residents"
We chose this place because I really liked how the rooms are set up, and the staff were friendly. But, they should have more fun things for people to do.

"Assisted Living Facility Falls Short on Communication and Service"
This place seems pretty average. Like many others around here, they don't have enough staff. I'm not sure if it's because of the times we're in or just their situation. The boss said they'd talk to me about my worries and questions. But at first, they weren't doing what our family asked for. The food looks like something from TV, not like what they said on the tour. They promised a chef making good meals, but now they won't give extra food to residents who ask. At least the nurse is good about getting my loved one coffee. When we toured, they didn't say anything about the place being sold to a new company. But when we moved in, it was all new staff. The memory care area has a locked door, so families wait for a long time to get in or out. They haven't hired a receptionist to help, and it's hard to talk to anyone about our loved one. The staff isn't sticking to the plan for how to talk to our loved one. They called us before calling the hospice team after a fall.

"Great Care, Friendly Staff"
The caregivers here are good, and they truly care about my loved one’s health. However, waiting at the secure door can be frustrating, and leaving the community takes time.

"Disappointing Experience at Assisted Living Facility"
The medical help was really bad. The nurse assigned to the building wasn't there and wasn't helpful either. When renewing my loved one's contract, the lady was yelling at me. My loved one couldn't get medicine for a few days. Their assessment of my loved one was wrong. Overall, I had a really bad experience.

"Great tour, but hallways too long for our loved one"
Our family took an in-person tour and had a lovely experience. However, the hallways were very long, and we didn't want our loved one to have to walk far to get around.

"Elmcroft: Friendly Staff, Limited Care, Fair Cost"
The people working there were nice and always ready to assist. But I felt it wasn't the best place for my family member because it's set up for folks who can manage on their own. The price seemed fair for the services provided.

"Neglected Loved One at Assisted Living Facility Leads to Legal Action"
We moved our beloved family member into this assisted living facility on a date we won't mention. At the time, she could still get around on her own but was battling Alzheimer's. We were informed by a staff member, whose name we won't share, that she would be sequestered for two weeks. If she wandered from her room, she'd be gently guided back. However, within the first week, we saw her socializing in the common area with other residents, both seated and walking around, mask on. We guessed they must have allowed group interactions for residents admitted at the same time. Shockingly, on a separate date, we received a disturbing call from the facility. Our loved one had been found on the floor, exhibiting fatigue, a throat infection and diarrhea. Sadly, there was no follow-up call from the facility about her condition. We ended up learning she was discharged only when we reached a hospital staff member. Since then, she has had five additional visits to the hospital due to falls. Just recently, she fell again. We were never informed. We did manage to talk to a staff member, who claimed another person did call us. However, our phone records show no trace of a call from the facility. We're now looking to involve legal representation. Currently, our loved one's condition has significantly worsened, according to the hospice. Unfortunately, the hospice staff cannot perform their duties as they are not granted access to the facility.

"Disappointing Memory Care: Clean Assisted Living Falls Short"
The assisted living place was really nice and clean. My mom liked the food a lot, and that was super important to her. The people who worked there were always friendly and helpful. When I asked questions, the med techs were good at communicating. But then my mom had to move to the memory care place because she kept wandering. That place was not good. It smelled really bad, especially near my mom’s room. Even though I told them many times, it never got better. The rooms were okay but they needed a good cleaning. The staff was alright, but they weren’t good at talking with the med techs. It seemed like they had too much to do and not enough people to help. I definitely wouldn’t tell anyone to go to the memory care part.
