"Staff Neglect and Unresponsive Nurse Spoil Facility's Reputation"
I currently have my dad staying at this place, but I plan on moving him elsewhere. The staff here doesn't give any attention to the people who live here - they're either engrossed in their phones or busy smoking outside. The nurse, who works here, is really bad at her job. Whenever I ask about my dad's condition, she won't tell me anything. I wouldn't suggest this place to anyone.

Please think about other options for your dear friend or family member before considering this place. This facility should be shut down but won't be because it's owned privately. The staff here doesn't have the necessary medical training and they are seriously lacking in both understanding and kindness.

"Eye-Opening Conditions of Assisted Living Facility"
This place was terrible, like something from a creepy 60's movie! Residents were roaming the halls aimlessly, looking for something. Some seemed like they hadn't bathed or had clean clothes in a while. We visited around 10:30 and the dining room looked unused and unprepared. The activity room was too full to walk into. Some residents' rooms were filled with storage, shared bedrooms were messy, overcrowded, and not clean. Certain staff members actually live there. I wouldn't wish for anyone to live there. The website, A Place for Mom, should review sites before recommending them. If I could, I'd give this place negative stars.

I visited Lakewood Care Center. Staff was nice but old atmosphere, unkempt rooms, needs renovation.

"Good care but unprofessional behavior from aides"
They really do look after the residents well. But I was upset when my husband came back home and said some of the aides were hitting on him. One even gave him a note asking for his phone number and saying what she wanted to do with him. Another told him he should take her on a trip. That's not professional at all, and I did not appreciate it.

Overall, we like Lakewood Care Center. It looks nice, staff are friendly and attentive. They care for residents well. My only issue is communication with families. Adding more staff could help response times.

Lakewood is an older place with a cozy, old-fashioned vibe. While it's not flashy, it has its perks. Started by a caring lady, Lakewood still feels like a big family, with residents living together. They have big rooms for activities and outdoor areas for socializing. The staff is nice and well-trained, and they offer some extra perks. If your loved one prefers a smaller, friendlier place, try Lakewood in Denver, NC.

"Worst Care Home Deserves Negative Star Rating"
This place is awful, I wouldn't even give it a star. It's all shabby and looks like a cheap nursing home. I am forced to rate it to post my thoughts - so it gets a 1 star when honestly, it deserves less than 0.

"Mixed Experience at Assisted Living Facility"
The staff were friendly and helpful during my visit. Outside and dining areas were nice. I appreciated that residents could use the dining area anytime. My relative would enjoy the pool table and piano. The room was okay but not as cozy as at another place. I'm considering it, but it's farther than I prefer.

"Friendly Staff and Varied Activities"
About 60 people live here, and they offer care from assisted living to skilled nursing. While there aren't tons of activities, they do have church groups, piano performances, trips to Walmart, bingo, and auctions. The staff turnover is low, and many patients have been here for a long time.
