"Mixed Experience at Assisted Living Facility"

I felt they could've improved how they cared for my mother-in-law's appearance. The staff were nice and treated her well. They could've done a bit better with residents' hygiene. The cost was average.

"Poor staffing and management; care quality compromised."

I worry about patients' care. Few staff, often on phones. Management lacking.

"Satisfied Family Recommends NP for Elderly Care and Support"

We moved my 97-year-old mother-in-law from rehab to NP of Archdale into an independent suite four months ago, and we're pleased with the care she receives. In her suite, she has a home care CNA available during first and second shifts, five days a week. If they're not there, NP staff step in to assist her with bathing, cleaning, laundry, and organizing her clothes. They even join her on the lovely front porch when she wants company. They ensure she gets to meals on time three times a day and are always willing to help with anything she needs. She also joins in on some of their outings in the NP van and they coordinate her doctor's appointments. The other residents are friendly, which she appreciates, and she enjoys most of the food, though she's careful due to past ulcers. She participates in their activities and seems genuinely happy there. Her children, who live out of state, have been incredibly helpful in answering our questions when we call. She frequently praises the staff for their kindness. I would recommend NP to anyone seeking a caring assisted living facility for their loved ones.

"Excellent Care and Comfortable Environment"

This place is awesome! They take good care of everyone, and it's not too expensive. They help with living and memory care. The building is super clean, and the area around it is cozy.

"Unbearable Neglect at Assisted Living Facility Results in Early Exit"

When we first visited this assisted living facility, it was spotless and inviting. My mom was so excited that she didn't hesitate to add her name to the waitlist. When move-in day arrived, our excitement soon turned to disappointment. The place stank so bad, we were struggling to breathe as we helped mom move her stuff. I filled out a detailed care plan for her, specifying her needs including her showering schedule, but to my shock, it was just ignored. During her stay of six weeks, my mom had only three showers. They ignored my request to prepare her for showers, as indicated in the detailed plan we submitted. I did meet some super friendly staff during this time, but their hands appeared to be tied. This makes me think that the problem lies with management and not with the aides. Even after knowing that my mother had a colostomy, there was no assistance provided for that. Even worse, we did not get the bags that I had supplied (costing $112 per box), leaving my mom helpless. The neglect she faced was unbearable, I had no choice but to pull her out after two months.

"Unwelcoming Experience at North Pointe Assisted Living"

We set up a tour at North Pointe. When we arrived, the lady who was supposed to show us around was busy chatting with someone else. She didn't even notice us. Eventually, a nurse came and gave us a tour. She was nice and answered our questions. The community seemed nice, but it didn't feel very welcoming since the person we were supposed to tour with didn't acknowledge us.

"Better Welcome Needed at North Pointe Assisted Living"

We set up a tour at North Pointe, but when we arrived, the lady who was supposed to give us the tour was busy talking to someone else and didn't even notice us. Eventually, a nurse gave us the tour instead. She was friendly and answered our questions. The community seemed nice, but it would have been better if the person we scheduled the tour with had acknowledged us.

The staff is friendly, the facility is clean, and the residents seem happy. However, I was hoping for an outdoor area and cozier rooms.

"High Staff Turnover Negatively Impacts Resident Care"

My mom lives here and I've noticed many issues. The main problem is that employees leave too quickly. They don't stay long enough to understand the residents' unique needs, which hurts the residents. The staff I've spoken to mentioned management issues and being short-staffed. When problems come up, they're often ignored because they can't risk losing more staff. It seems like the facility's owners either don't know what's happening or don't care. The high employee turnover rate is a big red flag. It feels like there's a new face every other day. These folks, who give their hard-earned money to this place, deserve better, especially when it comes to daily hygiene.

"High Turnover, Poor Management Harm Care at Assisted Living Facility"

My mom lives here and from my observation and chats with both former and current staff, this place has many issues. A major problem is the high rate of staff quitting. Workers don't stick around long enough to really understand the personal needs of the residents, causing the residents to suffer. The folks I spoke with mentioned struggles with management and not enough staff. Because of the employee shortage, problems that crop up are often ignored to avoid losing more employees. The owners either don't realize what's happening or they just don't care. The frequency of new faces should raise concern as it feels like there's a new employee every other day. These vulnerable folks who spend all their savings for this facility deserve much better, especially when it comes to everyday hygiene.

"Assisted Living Facility Falls Short on Care Standards"

My mom's been here almost a year. It's better than her last place, but still not great. They call it assisted living, but really you're expected to do a lot yourself. We have to nag them constantly to do basic stuff like bathing and hygiene. Mom's not getting the care she needs, even after we've told them and brought in an outside nurse. The staff says the management's not great and they're always short-staffed. They're not fixing the problems. For what they charge, they should do better. Don't trust the looks.

"Subpar Care and Unstable Staff at Assisted Living Facility"

My mom has been staying at this place for almost a year now. It's a bit better than her previous place, but not by much. Although it's an assisted living facility, they expect people to take care of themselves. We have to constantly remind the staff to do basics like giving baths and maintaining hygiene for my mom. We, along with a nurse from outside, pointed this out many times but there's no improvement. As per my conversations with the staff, there's a problem with management. They can't retain the workers, leading to frequent turnovers. Hence, many serious issues get overlooked. Given their high charges, I think this facility could do a better job looking after the seniors we entrust to them. Be cautious, because what you see is not what you get.
