"Negligent Assisted Living Facility Offers Poor Care and Lies"

This place is ridiculous. They show no concern for their residents. The activities they offer are hardly more than a trip to the Dollar store. A person close to me was there, and I found out she hadn't had a bath in three weeks! When I spoke to the manager, she outright lied about the situation. It seems the state board has been notified about this place several times, but nothing has changed. If you really care about your family, don't put them in there. Their condition will only get worse.

"Loved One Neglected at Assisted Living Facility"

The workers on the first shift at this assisted living place clearly need more training. The second shift workers are nicer and seem to know how to take care of elderly folk better. During our relative's stay, we weren't confident that they were being well looked after. Sometimes, they were left in wet clothes without anyone checking on them. This wasn't what we anticipated.

"Lacking Empathy: Disappointing Experience at North Pointe Assisted Living"

My mom's been at North Pointe for about 18 months. But things have only gotten worse since she moved there. The person in charge seems to think she's better than everyone else. She acts like she doesn't care about the residents or their families. I won't be telling anyone to go to North Pointe after what I've seen. She needs to have more compassion for the people there. She's in the wrong job if she can't show empathy. She acts more like a strict prison guard than someone who cares about the residents and their families. Everyone who works there, especially the person in charge, should respect the residents and their families.

"Inadequate Staffing, Poor Service at North Pointe of Asheboro"

North Pointe of Asheboro, located in Randleman, NC, is a clean and neat place. Sadly, their services don't quite match up. The place struggles with lacking staff, causing delays in medicine schedules and needed attention for the residents. When I try to reach the main office, I'm left hanging, nobody answers my calls. A number of staff members aren't nice to residents. Even the cafeteria staff are unkind, telling residents that if they don't finish their meals they won't be given more to eat, save for a bowl of soup, even when residents express they're still hungry. Medications are also awkwardly given to residents in the hallway while they're using their walkers. I would advise against this facility.

"Concerned Daughter Calls Out Declining Assisted Living Facility"

A few months ago, I had a positive impression of North Pointe assisted living. But when a new director took over, things seemed to deteriorate quickly. My frustrations peaked when my dad, a resident at North Pointe, didn't receive his medication despite an order from the doctor. To make matters worse, I found out the director and several staff members were fired and replaced by Corporate Management; yet, no one could explain why my dad didn't get his medication. Completing the steps necessary to get my dad's medicine took me most of my work day. His gout had worsened to the point where he was experiencing severe swelling and discomfort. I feared he might take a fall due to the pain. In addition to my dad's mishap, I saw a resident who had missed breakfast and was still hungry hours later. It made me question the level of care given to other residents, particularly those who seemed to require skilled nursing assistance. I've seen residents wandering around in wet clothes or with visible signs of incontinence. It's heart-wrenching to witness such lack of care. I understand North Pointe started as an assisted care home, but it seems that many residents currently need a higher level of care than they're receiving. Without family to monitor their wellbeing, these residents suffer from neglect. On several occasions, I've noticed a dismissive attitude from staff towards residents. They underestimate the resident's mental capabilities simply because their bodies are weak. This is dehumanizing and disrespectful. Apart from neglect and lack of care, the food quality has also been a point of disappointment. The meals often seem to lack nutritional value, and I've observed many uneaten meals. And this includes instances where residents asked for alternative meals were denied any options. In a nutshell, the situation at North Pointe is becoming alarming. We chose this place for my dad in the hope of quality care, but it hasn't met expectations. The residents deserve better. I hope visibility to these issues brings about the necessary changes.

"Great care and support for my mom!"

My mom has been at North Pointe of Asheboro for a few weeks, and it's been great! She needed a place where her meds are given on time and meals are prepared. She has mild cognitive issues, so she needs reminders and support. They check on her throughout the day. The staff is always there for her physical and emotional needs, and she has the nicest neighbors who look out for her. Her laundry is done weekly or as needed, and she gets help with bathing. She also gets her hair done weekly, just like she's used to. There are fun activities, exercise, entertainment, and religious events. They provide transportation to doctors and plan outings for those who want to join. The decor is beautiful and changes with the seasons and holidays. I can talk to any staff member if I have questions or problems, and I feel good about my mom's care. I don't worry about her safety, meds, or nutrition like I did when she was home alone. Thank you, North Pointe!

"Mom's new home brings peace of mind and care."

My mom just moved to North Pointe of Asheboro recently. It's been a blessing! She needed help with medications and meals, plus reminders for her mild memory issues. The staff is attentive to her physical and emotional needs. She loves her caring neighbors. Her laundry and bathing needs are well taken care of, and she gets her hair done weekly. There are lots of activities to enjoy, transportation to doctors, and festive decorations. I feel comfortable talking to any staff member. I no longer worry about her safety, meds, or nutrition like I did when she lived alone. Thank you, North Pointe!

"New Phase of Life"

My dad's been at North Pointe of Asheboro for almost two years. It was a tough choice for our family, but he knew he couldn't manage his meds and daily life anymore. Now he's content and happy. We visit often and love seeing how the staff interacts with him. The director's open-door policy is great. I feel blessed knowing Dad's safe, warm, and cared for during this new phase of his life. Giving 4 stars because there's always room to grow.

"Great care and support for my elderly mom!"

North Pointe of Asheboro has been helping my 90-year-old mom for seven years. She needed a place where her medications are given on time, meals are prepared, and her mild cognitive issues are understood. Even with staff changes, they always care for her physical and emotional needs. Her laundry is done regularly, and she gets help with bathing and dressing. She gets her hair done weekly, so she always looks nice. There are fun activities, exercise, entertainment, and spiritual events. They provide transportation to doctors and plan outings for those who want to join. The decor is nice and changes with the seasons and holidays. I can talk to any staff member if I have questions or problems, and I feel good about her care. No place is perfect, but the good things here definitely outweigh any bad ones. Thank you, North Pointe!

"Grateful for North Pointe's Support"

North Pointe of Asheboro has been helping my 90-year-old mom for seven years. She needed a place where she could get her medications on time, have meals prepared and served, and where her mild cognitive impairment would be cared for. Even with changes in staff, they’ve always been there for her physical and emotional needs. Her laundry is done regularly, and she gets help with bathing and dressing. She has her hair fixed weekly, so she always looks nice. There are activities for fun, exercise, entertainment, and spiritual interests. They provide transportation to doctors and plan outings for those who want to join. The decor is pleasant and changes with the seasons and holidays. I can talk to any staff member when I have questions or concerns, and I feel good about the care she gets. No place is perfect, but the positives at North Pointe of Asheboro definitely outweigh any negatives. Thank you, North Pointe!

"Escalating Health Concerns at Assisted Living Facility"

This assisted living center is absolutely ridiculous! It's been a year since my family member joined and their health has taken a major hit! They used to be super self-reliant but now they're bound to a wheelchair! They don't have enough staff around, they’re just not interested in their residents' wellbeing. Especially the ones who need a little extra attention, they just leave them sitting in the lounge, all hunched in their wheelchairs. I've heard from a few folks living there that the food is awful and they can't bear to eat it. If you genuinely care for your family’s health, I'd advise looking elsewhere for care.

"AVOID THIS ABYSMAL FACILITY!!!"

This facility is absolutely ridiculous!! Over the last year, the health of my family member has seriously declined because of their incompetence! She once stood tall and independent, but now she's confined to a wheelchair! They don't have enough employees to properly care for their residents. It's like they don't even care about their wellbeing. They leave those who need more attention to sit in the communal space in their wheelchairs, all hunched over. Some residents have told me that they can't stomach the food because it's disgusting. I strongly advise looking at other options if you want your loved one to stay healthy.

"Lackluster Welcome and Meal Variety at North Pointe of Asheboro"

We visited North Pointe of Asheboro and the director didn't make us feel welcome. It seemed like they didn't care if we picked their place. The food options weren't very diverse.

"Lack of Warmth at North Pointe"

We visited North Pointe of Asheboro, and the director didn't make me feel welcome. It seemed like they didn't care if we picked their place. Also, I didn't see much variety in their meals.

"Concerning Caregiving and Limited Fresh Food Available"

They do have a variety of fun activities for everyone. The place is kept clean by a dedicated group of janitors. Plus, the folks in the office are nice and approachable. However, I did notice some issues with their caregiving. It's like they don't fully understand their job or what residents need. They disregard requests for assistance with personal care and medicine. Residents are made to wait in a line against a wall to get their medicines. The menu choices here are limited and fresh food is almost nonexistent. Even the vegetables they serve are always from a can.
