"Plagued by Problems at The Charlotte AL in 2021"
We put a relative in The Charlotte AL in 2021. It's a pretty place. This relative had her issues, but we thought she'd be ok. But problems came up fast. What we saw versus what our relative and the staff said were way different. We kept finding problems. We even called the County Ombudsman a bunch of times, who knew the head guy at the facility. Finally, we had to get help to move her to a new place. We found out the hard way about 'State Scores' at these types of places. It was a super stressful, not fun, and costly ordeal.

"Mixed Experience with Assisted Living Facilities"
This place has some good things and some not-so-good things. The dining room sometimes closes because they don't always have enough staff. They offer activities like bingo and holiday parties, which is nice. The cost went up by 10% this year, which was a big jump. Hopefully, with the extra money, they can hire more staff. It's important to ask about any price changes when you're talking to them. We were told the increase would be 3%, but it ended up being 10%. One issue we had was with their pharmacy. They billed us for medicine every 30 days, but usually, you can get it every 90 days outside of the facility. It might be a good idea to look into other pharmacy options that use blister packs, etc. Overall, we would give it a 9 out of 10. They really put in effort to help her with insurance and provide services like a dermatologist, podiatrist, physical therapy, and even a beauty shop she can go to.

"Assisted Living Facility Faces Challenges Amid COVID Outbreak"
They're trying their best. My parents moved in during December, just before the big Omicron Covid outbreak. Since then, there have been many problems. Staff turnover has been a big issue, which means residents aren't consistently cared for by the same people. This makes it hard for my parents to adjust. Also, the rooms haven't been as clean as they should be, mostly because of Covid, but the common areas are okay. On the bright side, my parents enjoy the food.

"Great place for loved ones; worth the adjustment and cost."
This place is likely one of the best options for your family member. It's a bit more expensive and takes some getting used to, but it's definitely worth it. My family member is really happy there.

"Shifting Agency Caregivers Lack Familiarity with Residents"
Every caregiver here is from an agency. They don't even have their own permanent team! Why is this happening? It seems like every new shift brings along a new person who has no knowledge of the resident they are supposed to be looking after. Isn't it crazy? How can this happen? Are we really waiting for a dangerous mishap, or worse, before this serious issue gets addressed?

"We’d Choose It Again"
The staff is friendly, meals are great, and they handle medicine well. The suites are beautiful, but it’s a bit pricey. Lots of activities available, and no issues so far.

"Room Was Small, Staff Very Helpful"
During our tour, we noticed the room was small, about the size of a dorm room. It had a kitchenette with a tiny fridge and a microwave. The staff were very helpful.

"Everything went fine!!"
I recently toured this community for my loved one and had no complaints. The staff were punctual and answered all our questions. The property was clean with great amenities for residents. Overall, we were happy, but the location wasn't right for us.

"Subpar Staffing and Unavailable Assistance after Hours"
Abysmal staffing results in slow response times, especially during late evenings and weekends. Residents often have to wait up to an hour for assistance with basic needs such as using the restroom or getting into bed. Despite the presence of call buttons, community members rarely receive responses, and the promised 10-minute wait time is farcical. It's not uncommon for one to have to roam the corridors in search of a staff member, and the atmosphere can feel eerily quiet. Moreover, the front desk ceases to operate past 7 PM.

This place was pretty nice. It looked really good, and the staff answered our questions. But in the end, we didn’t pick it because they didn’t accept Medicaid right away.

"Nice Facility but Memory Care Rooms Too Small; Not Ideal Fit"
Regency at Pineville was really nice overall, but the memory care rooms were very tiny and felt like being in a hospital. The assisted living section, though beautiful, wasn't exactly what we needed. However, the staff was fantastic—they were friendly and made sure to check in with me afterwards.

"Good Tour, Not Right Fit"
I had a nice time touring this place. The workers showed up on time for our appointment and were friendly when they greeted my mom and me. The place was really clean and neat, which I liked a lot. But, after thinking it over, we decided it wasn't the best choice for my mom in the end.

"Tour Felt Like Pushy Sales Pitch"
I really liked the assistance to visit this community, but during the tour, one of the staff members was too pushy. It felt like we were buying a used car. Although the community was nice, the cost wasn't affordable for us, so we had to choose another place.

"Good Tour, But Not The One For Us"
I took a good tour of this community. It's a really nice place. Everything I saw looked neat and clean. The staff I met were friendly and kind. The facility building had three stories, but my aunt didn't feel comfortable with that. Overall, it was a nice tour, but not the right fit for my aunt's needs.

"Avoid this home: Poor cleanliness and insensitive management"
I visited this place for a family member. They showed me a room where someone had just died. It was not tidy, and the sink was very broken, yet they tried to get me to book the room. I turned them down. Let's be clear, if you're trying to show off your place, don't use a room where someone recently passed away. The place was just so dirty and I don't think I've ever felt sadder then when I was seeing this place. There's no chance any of my family is going to stay there. They really need to teach their managers better.

"Warm and Welcoming"
I don't have any complaints about this community so far. The services they provide for my loved one make me really happy. The building is always well taken care of, and they create a friendly atmosphere throughout the entire complex. My parents enjoy the food they serve and like joining the activity programs. Overall, I think it's a great fit for my parents.

"Kindly Staff, Dingy Facility, Bad Room Location"
The place looked grungy and dull. However, the employees I encountered were friendly and really seemed to know their stuff. Unfortunately, their only available spot was on the third story, which just wouldn't work for us.

"Friendly staff, varied activities, recommend for assisted living!"
My mom is getting used to living at Regency. They have lots of things to do. The staff are nice and helped us with our questions. I think they could use more nursing assistants in the skilled nursing area. I would suggest this place for assisted living.

"Needs Improvement: Staff not attentive, food disliked, but clean environment."
My mom stayed at this place for only a month before she had to go to the hospital. The people who work there didn't seem to pay much attention to her, and they didn't make sure she took her medicine. They do a good job keeping the place clean, and they offer things for the people who live there to do. Mom doesn't eat a lot, but she didn't like the food they gave her.

"Consider The Haven Over Regency for Better Experience and Value"
The employee turnover at this assisted living place is high, with new workers constantly in training. This facility is mostly for assisted living, but has a small section for memory care. Be sure to check the fine print carefully, because the deposit isn't refundable until after 30 days, no matter what they tell you. Even though we were only there for 23 days, we didn't get our money back. The Regency's food is average at best. The staff is friendly and the care is satisfactory. Keep in mind, these places all cost around $6000 a month. I much prefer the Haven in the Charlotte Pineville area. It's set up into smaller communities, is well-designed and brightly lit, with plenty of spaces for memory care patients to walk and socialize. Their patios and pathways are attractive and well-maintained. Each community at the Haven prepares and serves food within their own sections, and the food is really delicious and well-cooked. I think the Haven is a far better choice for my dad and our family.

"“Amazing Activities at Regency”"
We’re still getting used to the move, and my sister is adjusting to everything. Overall, we’re happy with our choice to move her to Regency. The staff has been super helpful and friendly. My sister has participated in all the activities they offer, which is amazing. The community’s activities get everyone out of their rooms. The food is okay, but it could be better. Overall, it’s a nice place for your loved one.

"Disappointment Sours Great Expectations of Assisted Living Facility"
We attempted to relocate to this place, but after a couple of days, we noticed it wasn't going to be suitable. The assistance button for my relative wasn't functional, forcing me to help with tasks like getting in and out of bed, and using the bathroom. It fell on me to seek out staff, who weren't quick to respond to our needs. The size of the elevators was another issue that made us reconsider. However, the food offered was really tasty and the team was really warm and considerate. The facility didn't match our high expectations, much to our discouragement.

The Regency staff were really helpful when our older family member arrived. She’d spent several days in a car moving from her old senior center. The staff is helping her adjust to the new place and understand her memory issues. We’re happy we found The Regency through A Place for Mom.

"Feels Like Home at Regency Retirement Village"
I like Regency Retirement Village because it's small and feels more like home than other places I've seen. The staff at Regency is really good, especially the nurse aides who do a lot of the hands-on care. They make sure the place is clean and tidy. The food is also pretty good. I would recommend Regency Retirement Village to others.
