"Overall Positive Experience Room for Improvement Noted"
So far, we've mostly liked this place. The cleaners are nice and don't bother my cousin's schedule. They'll come back later if he asks. The building looks clean and taken care of. Most of the staff are friendly and helpful, especially [name removed] and [name removed] in memory care. Recently, some staff who don't directly care for people have left. This worried us, but the care given hasn't seemed to change. In the memory unit, there aren't enough activities that everyone can enjoy. But, to be fair, not everyone can join in. Most of the time, when we ask for something, the staff are quick to help. Once, I asked for coffee for my cousin in the afternoon. One of the aides said they didn't have any there, but I asked her to go get some. For the money we pay, getting a cup of coffee shouldn't be a problem. The food is fresh, and they offer a choice of two things to eat. But when they serve meat, it's not cut up, and they never give us a knife. There are more things to do in the part of the building that isn't locked. It costs a lot to live here, but that's true everywhere like this.

"Better Care and Friendly Staff"
The staff was friendly, and they served good food even during Covid. Although my family member didn’t join the daily activities, the facility provided excellent diabetic care based on doctor’s orders. Overall, it was a better experience than the previous facility.

"Inattentive Staff and Poor Conditions at Assisted Living Facility"
The manager for memory care at this assisted living facility is absolutely disrespectful and speaks with a biting sarcasm. Every visit I make, I overhear her harshly discussing someone to other employees – her sharp words aren't reserved just for her staff, either, but also the family members of the residents. This behavior might be why they can't hold on to their employees. The other managers aren't much help, either. They seem content letting the workers do the bare minimum – rather than seeing a bustling, caring environment when I walk in, I instead find the staff idly on their phones, barely paying attention to their responsibilities. Furthermore, residents who need assistance are often ignored and are left to sit in their own mess. It's degrading. And when I have tried to raise these issues, nothing seems to change. Even considering the food situation, it's hard to see how the cost justified. The meals provided are disappointing given the high rent being paid. The general state of the facility is also shameful. The carpets are soiled and reek of human waste, and it appears the housekeeping staff don't even bother cleaning. Basic supplies such as toilet paper or paper towels are always missing. Honestly, I wouldn't advise anyone to use this place for their loved ones.

"Neglected and Disrespected: Our Awful Experience at Assisted Living Facility"
The Director ignores my calls and emails. This memory care 'supervisor' is super disrespectful and it's clear they don't care about the needs of the residents. My mom is always dirty and her nails are gross. You can never find a staff member when you need one, and if you do, they're just on their phones. Right now, I'm waiting for a bed to open up at a different memory care center so I can get my mom out of here.

"Poor Treatment and Understaffed at a Beautiful Facility"
The previous office team at this place was amazing. But, new folks stepped in and didn't give my mom the respect she deserves. They also don't have enough CNAs. I've never had such a terrible experience in such a nice looking place. Truly terrible.

"Mixed Experience with Assisted Living Facility"
We haven't been happy. COVID made it hard to see inside. Communication is bad - no email replies or timely calls. They ran out of meds for our loved one, which isn't okay. But there are nice people there.

"This review describes the Summit Place as dangerously understaffed, unclean, and neglectful."
My mom lived at the Summit Place in Mooresville, and poor conditions there led to her passing. There weren't enough staff members, and the ones they had were not properly trained. Moreover, only a visiting nurse came by biweekly for a short while but never interacted with residents, which meant no full time registered nurse was available. There were also issues with cleanliness and bedbug infestations that management never informed residents or their family about. This issue came to my attention when a personal care assistant warned me to avoid their laundry so as not to carry bedbugs home. My mom's last few hours there were agonizing and neglected as a medication technician, believing she was on her last legs, didn't call 911. They used her Do Not Resuscitate (DNR) order as an excuse for their neglect. It doesn't mean 'Do Not Treat.' As a Nurse Practitioner and the daughter of the departed, I implore you not to trust the Summit Place. They cut corners with budget and staff, which leaves residents in danger as there is no registered nurse onsite.

"Satisfactory Assisted Living Facility Review"
They've been pretty good, keeping things clean and friendly. They offer a nice variety of activities, although not as many as some places, it's still good. The menu looks nice to me, but he thinks it's not so great. Maybe it's because the meals are healthy with less salt and sugar, causing the complaints. They offer two choices for every meal, and there's always an alternate menu available. I'd rate the food a four. They had the best price compared to other places we checked out. We liked the people who gave us the tour. They've been really accommodating.

"Consider for Future Memory Care Needs"
This place is small and only has one-room apartments. It’s not quite right for us now, but the area for people with memory issues seemed good. If Mom ever needs more help, we’ll think about this spot.

"Mixed Feelings About Assisted Living Facility, Despite Cleanliness"
Medication issues popped up. If you're thinking of moving a family member into any home, I'd say give it a few months. The change can be a big shock, and even if they don't like it at first, just hang in there. The folks who took care of us and the people in the kitchen did a great job. But, we ran into some problems with the boss and the person in charge. On the bright side, the place was neat and pretty.

"Disappointing Assisted Living: Low Staff Presence, Limited Parking"
This place seemed much like a typical old folks' home in look, feel and even smell. When we came in for our tour, it was hard to find any staff members around. The exterior was appealing, but parking was a big issue. We had to park on the other side of a hectic street. The residents didn't seem very cheerful.
