"Decent Facility with Veteran's Discount"
This place is pretty nice for someone you care about to stay. The food isn't great, and it doesn't seem like they're trying to make it better, but everything else is fine. The person who moved in picked this place because they liked it more than others, plus they got a discount for being a veteran.

"Limited Care Options Staff Accommodating Comparable Value for Cost"
The staff at Summit Place was helpful, and the price was about the same as other places nearby. But, the doctor said we needed more care than they could give, so we had to find a different place.

"Inadequate Memory Care Facility Experience"
Staff, known as CNAs, were not nice and ignored simple requests for my mom. Housekeeping was okay. Communication was very bad, hardly there. They said they'd call after my mom moved in, but they didn't until 4 days later, only to say she got out. The moving-in process wasn't good. They didn't tell us when, and they didn't give extra care during her transition. She tried to leave three times, but nobody told me or the head nurse until after she climbed a wall. They need to lock the patio or install cameras. A memory care place should handle wandering better. I shouldn't have to hire someone to watch my mom. I wouldn't recommend this place to others.

"Friendly Staff, Cozy Living"
This place offers rooms with a bedroom, a small living area, and a kitchen. I’ve only seen one room, so I can’t say what the others are like. It’s a good idea to visit a few different places and talk to the people who will actually be taking care of your loved one, not just the main staff.

"Upset With Branding and Price at Summit Place"
Our family was let down by Summit Place of South Park. The managers really fell short of keeping us in the loop. Plus, we really didn't feel like the bang was worth our buck.

"Great Staff and Communication, Worth Considering"
The place is really nice. It’s hard for these kinds of places to keep their staff for a long time. We had a new executive director when we arrived, so we’re still getting used to that change. There have been a few bumps along the way. But they’re really good at keeping us in the loop, even better than the last place we were at. I’d tell other people to think about moving here because things are going pretty well overall. I really like the people who work here. The person in charge of marketing was awesome to deal with and really went out of their way to help.

"Limited Outdoor Space Disappoints Residents and Families"
The place didn't have enough outside space for my family member to stroll around.

"Convenient and Well-Organized Assisted Living Facility"
We picked Summit Place because they were prepared and efficient. They had a doctor and everything set up to move fast. It looked like a well-run place where my mom would be happy. I think others should consider it too.

"Unhelpful Staff and Poor Conditions At Assisted Living Facility"
This place wasn't right for my mom at all. The trash was overflowing, a true eyesore. The front desk staff was unfriendly and wouldn't help an older woman who needed her fingernails trimmed. I noticed people snoozing in the hallways and at the reception, which wasn't a good look. The entire atmosphere was really sad and totally disappointing.

"Good Location, Not-So-Good Care: Overwhelming Halls, Neglected Residents"
The place is in a convenient spot and the building looks fine. Still, as I roamed the hallways around 10 in the morning, the smell became pretty overwhelming. I had looked into this place two years ago, and noticed that many residents in wheelchairs were just left in the hallways. Now, as a capable Dad, I just don't think this place is right for me.

"Pleasant Visit to a Kind and Clean Community"
I had a nice tour of this place. It's a good facility with friendly people. Everyone was nice and friendly to my family and me. It's a good-looking place, everything looked neat and clean. The staff was polite and helpful. Overall, it was a nice experience, and I didn't have any issues during my tour of this place.

"Unimpressed: Not the Homely Atmosphere Mom Needs"
I wasn't really struck by the vibe here; it reminded me more of a hospital or institution than a real "community". They gave me a good tour, taking their time to show me around. But honestly, I just didn't sense that this place would suit my mom's needs.

"Severe Mismanagement Ruins Assisted Living Experience"
My mom was a resident here for nearly three weeks and I was incredibly disappointed. The management was terrible. It took them 5 days to schedule her shower and laundry routine with the nurses. The dining area is awful and the food was practically inedible. The staff was constantly late in delivering her daily wine. They left my mom in her room during downstairs activities like singing. It wasn't until we made a big fuss, that they started placing reminders for her to drink liquids in her room. The bookkeeper never cashed my check for almost two weeks, even if she said she would. I've never seen a place that is so badly managed. As we were leaving, two of the employees even told us that the best thing we could do was to take mom away!.

"Improvements Needed in Assisted Living Facility for Better Care"
The people who work there are nice and kind. They take good care of the residents. The building is kept clean and nice. But, sometimes it's hard to talk to the head nurse. She doesn't answer calls much and forgets to arrange rides. Also, the food is not good at all. It's low quality and they often don't have enough of the basic foods. They use too much canned or processed stuff in the meals. Even though we complain, nothing changes. Moving would be tough because my parents are old. So, we try to make things better instead. The activities are okay, but they should pay more attention to what the men like.

"Dining and Wait Staff Need Improvement"
At Summit Place of Southpark, I think the administrative staff and nursing/med techs are awesome and fabulous. However, the dining and wait staff at this facility are horrible. They’re rude and lack patience for residents who aren’t in good medical shape. It’s a mess. I’m not sure if they outsource that area, but something needs to change.

"Nice place with many activities and good price"
This place was one of our top two choices. There seemed to be lots of activities happening. The facility is nice, and the residents like it. It was reasonably priced. We let [my loved one] decide based on comfort.

"Summit Not For Highly Disabled"
My mom moved to Summit Place from Atria Merrywood after having surgery. She was very disabled, unable to stand or move around in her wheelchair. She couldn't eat by herself either. We called Hospice and they began looking after her at Summit. The folks at Summit promised me they could care for her. However, after only a few days, it was clear they couldn't handle my mom's needs. I had to move her to Sardis Oaks, where she passed away six weeks later. Sardis Oaks turned out to be a better place for someone like my mom. It seems like Summit either overstated what they could do or didn't understand just how sick my mom was. If someone can move around on their own, Summit seems fine. But if they need more help, like my mom did, I'd suggest Atria Merrywood where she was happy for five years.
