""Negligence and Poor Care at Assisted Living Facility""
The food was just alright. When my dad fell twice, the staff didn't bother to tell me. I found out by walking into his room and seeing bloody bandages everywhere. When it wasn't lunchtime, the employees focused more on their meals than on the folks they were supposed to be taking care of. Even the head of his unit and the main nurse didn't know important details about my dad. I wouldn't tell others to use this place. It might look good at a glance, but they really don't treat their patients with respect and care.

"Beautiful Facility with Issues"
My family member used to live at Wickshire Steele Creek. The person who helped with admissions was friendly. However, most of the staff lacked people skills and patience. Communication was bad, and I had to keep calling. The move-in process was okay, but some staff members were rude. The meals were fine, but my loved one left with only a few clothes. The facility smelled okay and seemed clean. However, there were issues with medication and billing. Overall, I wouldn't recommend it.

"Misleading Information and Poor Service at Assisted Living Facility"
I went to their so-called "open Wednesday" - a time when their website said I could take a tour without a scheduled appointment. To my disappointment, no one was available to give one. A sign hanging on the mandatory bulletin board in the waiting area revealed that they had lost their state license before, but had gotten it back in February. Strangely, they weren't accepting new patients anymore, even those with Medicaid seemed out of place. My guess is they're not meeting the necessary standards. This wasn't my first visit; I came by a year or two back. At the time, they had received a warning from Medicare. It's bewildering to me that “A Place for Mom” rates them so highly.

"Friendly Staff, Uncertain Future, Fair Care"
My time at the living place is just okay. There’s a lot of change happening and it feels like nobody really knows what’s going on. They might even shut down this year because they’re being checked out. The people working here are super nice and always have a smile for you. The care they give is pretty good too, but I’ve noticed that when families come by a lot, their loved ones get even better attention. I’m there all the time for my dad. The food is just alright, nothing special. They offer a bunch of activities, but my dad doesn’t really go to them. When it comes to what we pay, I think it’s too much just for the room. My dad can do most things by himself and doesn’t need much help.

"Assisted Living Nightmare: Mom's Health Declines at Wickshire"
The staff at the assisted living facility kept changing without telling us. They gave my Mom the wrong medicine, ignored emails, and didn't answer my calls. The food made her sick, and she ended up in the hospital without any notice to our family. I'll never recommend this place to anyone. The staff who cared for my Mom were nice, but the new Administrator was rude and didn't care about her. Wickshire changed Administrators three times in one year, which wasn't good. Overall, it was an unpleasant experience for our family. My Mom got e-coli from Wickshire, and things went downhill from there. Then they refused to take her back. She was doing okay before all of this.

"Assisted Living Facility Provides Comfort and Care for Loved Ones"
It has been very helpful and informative since the beginning. She made us feel confident in choosing this place for our parents. She always answers our questions and concerns. She ensures that the staff take good care of our mom. The staff even call her "mom" or "grandma" at the nursing station, which shows how caring they are, especially since our dad passed away recently. I was happy to see this during my visits all week, and they shared stories about how sweet and loving mom is. We are happy with the daily activities that have improved mom's mood and helped her socialize more. Mom loves it here and brags about the food!

"Good Staff, But Watch for Communication Issues"
Overall, I'm very satisfied with this place—the staff is really nice. At first, there were some unclear or misleading info about medication management fees, food, and other things, so make sure to ask questions to set clear expectations. My loved one always complains to me that the food has no taste. It might just be their personal taste, though.

"Mixed Feelings at Assisted Living Facility"
Make sure to visit in the morning and late afternoon. It feels quite different with different people around. Like anywhere else, there are some caregivers who are really good at their job, while others might not be the best fit for this line of work. In just the four months we've been here, there have been a lot of changes in leadership and staff. I think they're trying to fix some of the problems they've had. Seeing them make an effort gives hope that they'll hire the right people for the job.

"Minor water damage issue, otherwise everything's going well."
They had water damage from frozen pipes, not their fault.

"Assisted Living Facility Review"
This place used to have issues with staffing, but now it's better. They are trying hard. The food needs improvement, especially with more fresh fruits and veggies. The staff is really nice and caring. There's not much outdoor space, and residents lack transportation, which are areas they need to work on.

"Friendly Staff and Good Location; Improvement Needed in Cleanliness and Costs"
The place is cleaner now. It costs a lot. The workers are super nice and actually listen. They give suggestions and cooperate with families. They need to help more with money. We picked it because it’s near our house and a great spot.

"Disappointed Reviewer Urges Closure of Negligent Assisted Living Facility"
My family member only stayed for a little while at this assisted living facility, but I absolutely wouldn't advise anyone to send their loved ones here. They consistently left him sitting in dirty clothes for over half a day, which unfortunately led to him developing bed sores. This lack of basic care is why I eventually decided to move him away from this facility. Moreover, they would just put his meals in front of him without any follow-up, and didn't even have appropriate equipment to help him move. Instead, they would clumsily lift him, pulling on his arms and legs. The facility is understaffed, with most of the workers coming from temp agencies. This place really ought to be closed down!

"Good Tour, Chose Others Due to Price"
We visited the place in person and it was nice. We really liked how everything was arranged. But, we picked a different place because it cost less.

"Unpleasant Experience at Assisted Living Facility"
I didn't like it much. Felt like a regular nursing home. When you step inside, the smell is bad. I knew instantly it wasn't for my mom. Surprisingly, it wasn't much cheaper than the nicer place we picked.

"Small Rooms, Helpful Staff at Wickshire Steele Creek"
I thought Wickshire Steele Creek was close to where I live, but it seemed really tiny during the virtual tour and even smaller in person. I worried about the wood floors instead of carpeting, which could be a problem if someone fell. The Executive Director was helpful, and I appreciated the smaller community. However, the rooms were too cramped, with just enough space for a bed and a tiny dresser. .

"Appalling Experience at Assisted Living, Ignored Concerns, and Unfair Charges"
My family member felt trapped and phoned the authorities for help. The person in charge of medication refused to give prescribed meds, even blatantly telling my family member they didn't care about our concerns over the phone. I didn't get a check-in call about my loved one. They called, but only to collect his stuff. It took a while, but my husband was eventually allowed to inspect the room and collect our family member's belongings. Even then, they seemed fine with us leaving some things behind. The stress of the place shot my loved one's heart rate sky-high. The doctors at the hospital said that almost led to Congestive Heart Failure. My loved one packed before leaving with the authorities. The staff told us to collect the left behind items at the front desk. They only stayed for a single night, but we were unfairly billed for two. Although the place wasn't the stereotypical, odorous nursing home, it wasn't inviting or warm either. I tried to communicate my concerns with a voicemail, but no staff member got back to me.
