The Heritage of Cedar Rock

"Excellent Care and Value at Heritage of Cedar Rock"
I really suggest this place! The staff are really caring and helpful. Everything is very clean, which is great. It's a small facility, so you can get to know the residents and staff easily. The price is very reasonable. We're so happy we found Heritage of Cedar Rock for our father's 24-hour care.

"Appalling Conditions, Bad Service at Assisted Living Facility"
This assisted living facility wasn't right for my folks. There wasn't any sort of activities for them to do and snacks were scarce. If they missed snack time in the dining room, that was it for the day. The quality of the meals varied and the portions were small. They don't make exceptions, you eat what they serve or you do not eat. Some staff were nice, but others were rude and used inappropriate language towards the residents. The management is poor and there's clear disregard for state regulations and resident rights. When my mother left, they were supposed to return her social security checks within 30 days. It's been nearly a year and she hasn't seen a dime. Part of the facility doesn't even have proper heating or cooling. The beauty shop is basically a storage room, and men's haircuts are done right in the hallway. There's no one to help the women with their hair. They need to overhaul the management.

"Facility Lacks Features Advertised, Staff Could Be More Caring"
Despite the ad claiming a pool, there isn't one here. I wasn't a fan of how the resident rooms were organized. They were small and crowded with residents' stuff. Although the staff handles laundry, clothes are just stuffed into closets or drawers. They've never been pressed and were just shoved in there. On the plus side, the facility was neat and had a clean scent. The dining area, which was supposed to offer restaurant-style meals, looked like a staff breakroom. And while there was supposed to be a steady supply of snacks and drinks, the kitchen wasn't always open. The staff, though kind and respectful, didn't dress professionally, opting for jeans, t-shirts, and hats. I was disappointed that there wasn't a library since my mom loves to read. There was no gym and the beauty salon was cluttered with irrelevant items. Some staff members were friendly, others not so much. I didn't feel they cared for the residents as they should. While meals were offered, there wasn't a menu for daily options. It also seemed like residents who needed help eating didn't get any assistance. There were no activities that I could see happening either. This facility isn’t what I'm looking for my mother. I didn't feel the homely vibe I want when visiting her, and I wouldn't want her in any other environment.
