The Oaks of Alamance

"The Oaks: Needs Better Pay, Fresh Paint, and Cleaning"
The Oaks Assisted Living used to be pretty good. But now, after all these years, nothing's really changed. The furniture in the patient rooms still seems like the original stuff, the wall paint is peeling, and the laundry room floor seems like it hasn't been properly cleaned in forever. The room where my family member stays is carpeted, and it's startlingly dirty in places. Despite all my visits, it's clear no one has vacuumed recently. It's common for staff to say they're short-handed, yet there's always someone sitting at the nursing station, either shopping online or jamming tunes on a cell phone, especially when they're really needed. I've met some really nice, hard-working people there, especially in the kitchen. But the people in charge really need to increase the staff's pay to cover enough workers, and it's way past time to slap some new paint on the walls, get new patient furniture, and hire a cleaning service. Honestly, find a cleaner place for your loved one. Most places don't have enough staff for proper care, but decency in cleanliness should be achievable.

"Understaffed facility struggles with care, praised for friendly staff."
The place doesn't have enough workers and needs more help. Sometimes, on weekends, only two people work during a shift. My loved one needs more care than others, and sometimes they can't handle her. She always complains about the food. The staff are nice people, though. And the cost is similar to other places.

"[Nice place, close, good meals, recommend"
We chose The Oaks of Alamance because it looked nice and was close to my house. I didn't have to travel all over town to see her every day. Her room was private and big enough for her, but it would have been too small with a roommate. I saw some of her meals, and they looked really good. I would recommend this community.

" "Inadequate Care and Negligence at Assisted Living Facility""
If it were possible to rate with negative stars, I certainly would. My experiences here started off with a prolonged bedbug infestation that was not properly addressed. More recently, my grandfather was mistakenly given an incorrect dosage of his medication, or potentially the medication of another patient. This mistake landed him in the emergency room for a whole day. Regrettably, the medical technician was unsure of what she had given him. My grandfather, like all the other residents, deserves to be treated with respect and care, something that (the facility manager) seems to disregard. This place needs a complete overhaul - immediate closure, a full firing of the staff, and the revocation of their medical licenses.

"Appointment Mishap and Lack of Nursing Staff: Disappointing Assisted Living Experience"
We had an appointment, but it seemed like nobody knew we were coming. They couldn't find the director, so the girl at the desk did her best to answer our questions. It was disappointing that they don't have any nurses on staff, only medication technicians.

"Unsatisfactory Management and Poor Conditions at Assisted Living Facility"
Terrible management in charge. Too many staff leaving, affecting quality of care. Food is overly processed. Carpets are filthy.

"Safe, caring, clean, needs better aide training."
There are many options, but I chose Allay Senior Care. No matter where you go, you need to be involved in your loved one's care. Allay is a locked community, and they’re very open to suggestions. The doctor and nurses are kind and listen to concerns, and the manager and admissions staff work hard to provide great care. The place is always clean. However, there’s a high turnover of aides, and better training for them would help.

"High Cost, Low Quality: Assisted Living Review"
In my view, the people in charge didn't act professionally. Many employees left frequently. The doctor's instructions weren't followed. Even though the cost was reasonable, the care provided was lacking.

"Great Assisted Living with All-Inclusive Perks!"
This place is really nice and clean, and the staff are friendly and know a lot. The rooms are a bit small, but there are awesome outdoor spots to sit. Plus, the all-inclusive rate is a big win!

"Mixed Impressions at Oaks Assisted Living"
When my family and I visited Oaks, it seemed pleasant. However, the people we spoke to didn't appear very happy.
