"Understaffed and undertrained, beautiful but lacking care; not recommended."
The place looks nice, but there aren't enough staff and they don't know enough. Especially in the memory care part. The nurses try hard, but there aren't enough helpers, so sometimes nobody is around when needed and people get upset. The workers don't know how to calm people down or redirect them. My dad got bruises sometimes, and nobody knew how it happened. His stuff often went missing, and it took a long time to find it. My dad said the food was okay, and they had different things to choose from. Sometimes they didn't tell us about appointments, and my dad wasn't ready when we got there. His room smelled bad, and his sheets were dirty, even though they were supposed to clean it regularly. I wouldn't tell anyone to go there. If there was another place for memory care, I would have moved my dad there sooner. He got sicker while he was there, and I think it's because of how they took care of him, or didn't.

"Mixed Feelings on Assisted Living Facility"
It’s been alright, but not great for the cash we’re shelling out. I wouldn’t tell anyone to go for their memory care. But if someone’s looking for just assisted living, that’s a thumbs up. The place looks top-notch, and the folks living there are real nice. Plus, the two at the front desk? Super nice.

"Mixed Experience at Assisted Living Facility"
Staff in memory care are friendlier, but hard to find. Concerns about safety and cleanliness.

"Awful Elderly Care at Betty's Harbor: Loads of Broken Promises"
We chose this place for our dad since it looked great and managed to persuade us. But it was a different story once dad started living in Betty's Harbor. We soon saw that we had been misled about the excellent care he was meant to receive. Many of the staff were indifferent and brushed off our concerns. The old excuse, "That's not my job," was their parrot response. The employees often vanished and loafed around in a closed section of Betty's Harbor. Our dad wasn't getting his showers, his medication was erratically given, and his needs weren't' met. The residents were basically parked in front of a television for hours. The multitude of activities they promised us were nowhere to be seen. We raised our grievances but all we got were justifications. We even hired a nurse to accompany dad during the day and installed cameras in his room. This is an awful facility and I'm relieved that we managed to move dad out.

"Mixed experience at assisted living facility"
The place looks nice, but there are some issues. They're not always consistent, don't communicate well, and the care isn't always great. If someone needs a lot of care, especially in the memory care unit, I'm not sure if this is the best choice. They don't always have enough staff, and the ones they do have seem like they don't care much about helping residents with memory problems.

"Nice Tour, But Pricey and Big"
Our family visited in person, and the tour was pleasant. However, it was slightly pricier and larger than what we wanted.

"Friendly Community with Room for Improvement"
The care is good, but communication and billing need improvement. Food quality has improved, and there are plenty of activities.

"Great Experience at Smaller, Cozy Assisted Living Facility"
We really like New Perspective because it’s a smaller place with fewer people, which is exactly what we wanted. So far, the experience has been great.

"Assisted living is good, cozy facility with attentive nurse."
Sometimes the staff forgets my loved one's hearing aids at night and doesn't always put them back in the mornings. The memory care activities are inconsistent, but overall, assisted living is good. The cozy facility has winter-safe fireplaces. The nurse checks in on my loved one.

"Mixed Experience at New Perspective Assisted Living Facility"
New Perspective is a pretty place with a big library. It's nice and the food is tasty. But it wasn't quite what we thought. We knew it was temporary, so our loved one stayed in a studio. They took a long time to respond, and sometimes they didn't answer our calls. We're not sure if they were short-staffed or what was going on.

"Inconsistent Medication Management"
If you want your medications handled properly, this place isn't a good match. They're really inconsistent with everything. I wouldn't suggest this community to others unless your loved one can manage on their own.

"Warm and Welcoming Memory Care with Engaging Activities!"
My relative lives at West Fargo Betty's Harbor memory care for about a year. We've had a great experience with NPSL and the friendly staff. They treat us like family and involve memory care residents in activities. Music, crafts, and cooking are enjoyed. We hope for more dances soon—our family member loves to dance! Thanks, NPSL/West Fargo staff!

"Astonishing Neglect at Assisted Living Facility: Do Not Recommend"
From the start, I've faced problems with this living facility. As someone with experience in this sector, I understand that it takes a while to arrange things. I was ready to cooperate with them to sort everything out, but a month later, problems still exist. From day one, my Mom's medicines weren't properly administered, and wrong dosages were given. Once, I found that the staff hadn't given her insulin during my afternoon visit, and so, I had to do it. The nurses claimed that the head office needed to approve her med list. This is a grave issue and could have been fatal. Moreover, the call lights are often left unanswered. There've been instances when my mom had to wait for hours just to go to the bathroom. She didn't get her first shower until two weeks after her admission! Something else that upset me was learning of a day when my Mom didn't eat as no one responded to her calls. On a few occasions, she was confined to her room due to oxygen tank shortages. This whole scenario is both shocking and upsetting. The staff here is devoid of empathy and didn't even apologize after I alerted them about these issues.
