"Assisted Living Gem: Spacious Rooms, Caring Staff, Separate Memory Care"
I love living at Marquis. It feels like home since I sold my house. Most staff are friendly and always helpful. Some residents have early dementia but move when rooms open up. Rooms are big and priced well. Memory Care is in a separate wing.

"Mixed feelings about security, but love small, caring community."
We really like it here and it's been great for her. The only thing is they should have more security. It feels very different on weekends when most of the staff aren't there compared to weekdays when most of the office staff are. We chose this place because it's small, which we liked. It's easy for our mom to get around and meet people without feeling overwhelmed by too many people. We like the close-knit feel of the small community and the wonderful staff. I rated the staff a four. Some of them are amazing—like, I'd give them a six—while others I'm not as keen on. We also chose it because despite its size, it has good dining, good care, and great activities.

"Prioritize Loved Ones: Beware of this Negligent Assisted Living Facility"
This facility charges rent for two weeks after someone's death. They told us that's their policy and if you don't do it, they'll take you to court. It's a generally okay place, but there's a big risk your loved one could be in trouble. There were times on evenings and weekends when our Dad was ill and despite our calls, no one came. The staff is always changing and they rely on an agency for help, especially over the weekend. Also, their call light system doesn't even work. Management was usually slow to respond when we encountered issues. If you love your family, you should keep them far from this place. We couldn't move our Dad before he passed away. He had been asking us to do so.

"Happy loved one, great care, warm atmosphere"
The most important thing is my loved one is very happy there. Some of the staff are leaving, but the care is still great. I'm sad to see the ones we know go. Activities have gotten much better. When you walk in, it feels warm, light, and airy. There's also a nice courtyard and front porch.

"Headline: "Neglect and Mismanagement Rampant at Horrible Assisted Living Facility""
This is probably the worst assisted living facility I've seen. They're always short on staff, with just one employee looking after 9 or more residents. What's worse is that on weekends, residents who need memory care are just left dirty and ignored in front of the TV for hours. They only bring in agency staff for the weekends, and there's no report tracking. Their call light system is virtually nonexistent and the management team doesn't care to respond. It's heartbreaking to see workers having to take double shifts over 16 hours with no one else to come in - they're clearly exhausted. It's not surprising that anyone new barely lasts a day before deciding not to return. And the worst part? The aides, who aren't trained, are administering insulin shots because there are no nurses. There was a man who kept tripping and falling about 5-6 times a day until one tragic day, he died; he was calling for help from his room, and no one. Plus, there are so many patients with dementia squeezed into assisted living simply because it's within their budget. It really is a sad state of affairs.

"Limited couples’ community with pasta-heavy menu."
Marquis Place isn’t great for couples. No other couples here. Limited visiting hours: 9am-5pm (Mon, Wed, Fri), 9am-7:30pm (Tue, Thu), 9am-3pm (weekends). Staff needs improvement. Too much pasta.

"Mixed Experience at Assisted Living Facility"
The person who showed us around was friendly. The rooms are just okay. They could be arranged better to save space. Some of the workers are really good, but others aren't great. The people in charge don't seem very motivated - they're a bit lazy. I think they should be more active. Sometimes we've run into problems with getting all the medications we need. But it's nice because it's a small community. I visit often, and I'd suggest other families do the same, no matter where they pick, so they can really understand what's happening.

"Cozy place with big rooms and home-cooked meals"
This place feels cozy and takes good care of my mom. The rooms are big and always clean. The food is simple home-cooked meals with lots of good casseroles.

"Smaller Assisted Living Offers Personalized Care and Improved Communication"
This community is smaller, which we appreciate. They give more personal attention, getting to know our loved one well to understand her preferences. Communication here is much better than at her previous place, and they have been responsive to our requests.

"Great for Independent Living, Lacks Memory Care and Male Groups"
This place is really good for people who can do a lot on their own. They don't have help for memory care in the assisted living area and never mentioned it to us. They offer activities like van rides, daily exercises, social hours, and games. However, they don't have special groups for male residents, which would be helpful.

"Director Ruins Previously Great Assisted Living Facility"
Terrible new director who lacks compassion. Don't rely on decent care for a loved one with her in charge. She's ruined what used to be a great place. Heed my advice and look elsewhere. This place isn't right for a loved one anymore.

"Mixed Feelings Despite Great Staff and Food"
We found this place through A Place for Mom, and it seemed great. The staff is friendly, and the food is delicious, like homemade meals. The only problem is that sometimes they serve cold food on hot plates, but they fix it when asked. They offer lots of activities, keeping residents busy and happy. However, during the sales meeting, they didn't mention a policy about Medicaid until after we signed the contract. Overall, it's a good place, but this policy issue was disappointing.

"Loved One Adjusted Well and Feels Safe Here"
My loved one is adjusting well to this community. She likes it here, and we feel good about her move. She’s safe and in good hands. There was an issue with her eating, but after working with my dad, they found a better care plan. Now, everything is going well. The staff is caring, and I would recommend this community to my friends.

"Great experience! Loved one well cared for, highly recommended."
My family member just moved into this place, and things are going really well for her. The staff have been super nice and helpful, and I feel good about the care they're giving her. They pay attention to what she needs and make sure she's happy in her new home. She's been going down to the dining room to eat with the other folks and joining in on some of the activities too. Overall, we're happy with everything and would tell other people about it.

"Marquis Place: A Welcoming Home with Great Care"
My mom's only been here a week, but she already feels at home. We had a few hiccups with her medicines, but overall, the staff is super nice and helpful. The cost is fair, especially considering all it covers—meals, laundry, cleaning—just not cable or phone. The food's really good, with plenty of choices. We appreciate the cozy community vibe. We're really pleased with Marquis Place!

"Not Worth It - Better Options Available in Omaha"
At first glance, this place seems okay. But, the longer you stay, the worse it gets. The rooms are too dimly lit and it feels more like a hospital than a home. You can definitely find better places to live in Omaha.

"Good place with minor billing issues."
It seems to be a good place. It's clean, and the staff is friendly. Mom really seems to like it. When Dad fell, the staff responded well. I haven’t had many problems, except for a few billing issues.

"Friendly staff, enjoyable activities, and clean facility for seniors."
She showed me around, introduced me to important staff. We watched residents play bingo, and they all looked happy. The place was tidy, though it could use some updates. I visited with my mom as planned. The nurse who interviewed us was really great.

"We lucked out"
We really liked Marquis Place and chose it because of time constraints. Luckily, they had availability despite their usual waiting list. The location worked well for our family, but they could offer more diverse activities for residents at different stages. Overall, we're pleased and would recommend it.
