"Mixed Experiences at Assisted Living Facility"
It looks like the helpers here change a lot, and the new ones don’t seem to get enough training. They sometimes walk into rooms and bathrooms without knocking, which isn’t very polite. Clothes get lost or end up with someone else’s stuff. Some of the helpers don’t listen well to the people living here and can be a bit rude. The food is the same a lot and it’s usually not hot when it’s time to eat. If someone needs to see a foot doctor or another kind of doctor, they might have to wait a long time. They don’t ask us what we think very often, and when they do, not many people know about it. Even though there are some really nice and helpful staff, the ones that aren’t so great make it not as good as it could be.

"Mixed Feelings About Golden View Assisted Living"
My mom is getting great care at Golden View, which makes me happy. It's quite expensive though, and I think it could cost less, but I hear all places like this are pricey. The food is not that great! They need to have tastier food with more choices. My mom hardly ever gets steak! It’s usually chicken, meatloaf, or pot roast, which is boring. She likes breakfast, but isn't a fan of dinner. The staff is really nice, but they could use more help (like everyone else). It’s a 4-star place overall! I also wish they had more activities that fit different people.

"A Pleasant Assisted Living Experience"
The Assisted Living area at Golden View Health Care is really nice. It's clean, spacious, and the Dining Room is lovely. Our loved one enjoys having dinner with other residents.

"Great staff, but laundry issues"
The staff is great. The only problems have been with the laundry—clothes go missing for a long time. There was also a billing issue at the beginning. Overall, the family thinks it's been a very good experience.

"Welcoming and Comfortable Experience"
The best part was how they welcomed my loved one with open arms. It was her first time at a facility, and she felt pretty comfortable there, which I didn't expect. It was a good experience.

"Friendly staff and clean facility, but some rooms lack showers"
My father, brother, and I visited this facility at 2:00 pm, so we didn't have lunch. The staff at the front desk greeted us warmly, and our tour guide was very friendly. The facility looked well-managed and clean. The staff we talked to were outgoing, and the residents we met were also nice and helpful. The dining and activity areas looked inviting. The hallways were wide and had plenty of handrails. The only downside is that some rooms don't have showers, so those residents use community showers. There is nursing coverage 24/7. Other than the shower situation, which doesn't affect my father, this facility is worth considering.

"Cozy One-Story Living with Charming Dining and Patio"
This place is really nice. We like that it's all on one floor. The dining area feels cozy and charming, and we really enjoyed the big shaded outdoor patio.

"Welcoming staff and comfortable living for Dad"
My dad recently moved to Golden View Assisted Living. It was a tough change for him, but the administrator personally walked him to the dining room, introduced him to the other residents, and made us all feel welcome. We visit at different times and have found the staff to be friendly and responsive. My dad has settled in well, made friends, and is joining the activities they offer. Plus, he’s happy to see other men living there too! This was important to him since other places had mostly female residents. For the price, we’re getting great care, a private room with a full bath, and a nurse on-site 24/7.

My advice for anyone putting a loved one in a nursing home or assisted living facility is to be proactive. I thought I had asked all the right questions, but over time, I realized there were more I should have asked. Overall, my loved one is happy at Golden View. There were a few issues initially, but they were resolved promptly. When my loved one's resources run out, she'll move to the less nice Medicaid Unit. Most caregivers are wonderful, although there's one with an attitude. The food and activities are great, and the private room has a nice view.

"Overall Positive Experience with Room for Improvement"
If you're considering a nursing home or assisted living for a loved one, it's essential to be proactive. Even though I thought I had asked all the right questions and done thorough research, I found myself wishing I had asked more. Despite some initial hiccups, my loved one seems content at Golden View. At the beginning, I faced some challenges because I visited after work and couldn't speak to administrators about issues immediately. However, everything eventually got sorted out, and my concerns were addressed promptly, usually by the next day. We're aware that when my loved one's funds run out, she'll have to move to the Medicaid Unit, which might not be as nice as her current private room. It's a concern for the future, but it's still a few months away. Most of the caregivers are fantastic, although there's one with a bit of an attitude, though they're in the minority. The food is excellent, and there's a wide variety of activities available. The private room with a bathroom and a nice view adds to the positive experience. Overall, our experience at Golden View has been good so far.
