"Frustration Over Neglected Care and Unfair Charges at Assisted Living Facility."

My family's encounter with this assisted living facility was very disappointing. When we first brought in our mother, we were assured that they could handle her needs, but that turned out to be false. She didn't receive her call-for-help necklace for over two weeks. I felt ignored as my calls and messages for updates were unanswered. They failed to evaluate her for physical therapy promptly. Surprisingly, they called us for the evaluation two weeks after we moved her! There was a stark contrast between the initial interaction with the person who tirelessly collected our payment and our experiences afterward. It was as if they disappeared and left our mom to care for herself. We couldn't bear that and decided to move her out after a month. The facility seemed clean on the surface, but my explorations didn't extend beyond my Mom's room. However, the staff's friendliness was invisible as we struggled to find someone to talk to. In terms of care quality, I wish your rating scale allowed me to go lower. If you're independent, it might be fine, but that's not the case if you need assistance. To ensure that Mom got good food, I had to bring her meals regularly as their idea of a meal was a sandwich—nothing special. As per my knowledge, she didn't participate in any activities they offered. The cost of services was overrated. We paid a significant amount for one month, and yet after moving her, they charged us for unknown services. Attempts to query these suspenseful charges bore no fruits. I didn't pay them and strongly suspect they were means to increase their profits as they haven't requested again. Always double-check your expenses.

"Friendly Atmosphere with Room for Food Improvements"

My mom said everyone at this place is friendly and nice. The food could be healthier and have more choices. I would tell others to consider All American at Hillsborough.

"Assisted Living Facility Falls Short on Promises and Care"

They promise a lot but don't deliver. Their brochure talks about 'Exercise Physiologists offering over 150 different fitness and wellness classes and diagnosis-specific programs.' But, despite promises during intake, we couldn't get our loved one started in this program, even with a doctor's order. I'm not sure it even exists. Transportation to doctors' visits is limited, so you're left responsible. The medical team on-site is also limited and inconsistent. This place might be okay if your loved one is fully independent, but for anyone needing significant care, I wouldn't trust or recommend it."

"Misleading Information About Dining Policy; Overall Caring Staff"

The people who work here care about the residents. The food has gotten much better since a new chef started. When we visited, the Marketing Team said our loved one could have family join for dinner, but later the staff said they couldn't. We were let down by this!

"Busy with Activities, Needs Better Care and More Food Choices"

This place keeps folks active with lots of things to do. But the care isn’t the best because there aren’t enough helpers. Even though we pay extra for top-notch care, there are times when my family member doesn’t get the help they need. Plus, they don’t really have many choices for meals that my family member likes.

"Assisted Living Forces Double Rent for Singles"

I told others to search elsewhere. Why do most 'apartments' in this assisted living place force two elderly people to share? If they want a single room, they have to pay double the rent.

"Affordable Assisted Living with Room Limitations"

I liked this community because it had reasonable prices. The only downside was no guaranteed private room for my loved one.

"A Caring Assisted Living with Great Amenities!"

The food choices are great, and the meals taste good. They have fun activities like movies, games, and beer and pretzel nights. Housekeeping comes twice a week, and laundry services are available when needed. They also offer transportation to doctor appointments and group trips. Plus, they provide a security necklace with an emergency button for all residents.
