"Efficient staff but room for cleanliness improvement; recommend Spring Hills Matawan."
Staff at Spring Hills Matawan responds to requests, though sometimes you have to ask more than once. It would be better if they hired more people to help keep the place cleaner. Overall, I would tell others to consider Spring Hills Matawan if they're looking for a place like this.

"Assisted Living Facility Falls Short on Many Aspects"
This place has a lot of problems. The care isn't very good. Sometimes the food is really bad. They have trouble with the laundry. People are nice, but I think they don't have enough staff, so everything isn't done well.

"Horrible Management Leads to Poor Care in Assisted Living Facility"
I urge you not to place your family members in this facility. Since the new management took over, the quality of care has greatly suffered. The new head of the place is unpleasant to interact with. The helper's attitudes and level of care have unmistakably declined. I wouldn't suggest anyone to consider this place.

"Nice facility, but business office needs improvement"
My loved one lives at Spring Hills Matawan. The only hard part is dealing with the business office and communication. The place itself is very nice. The living and common areas are nice too. The dining experience is really good. I would recommend this place to family and friends! They really go the extra mile for their residents.

"Terrible Care at SpringHill of Matawan Nearly Cost My Mom's Life"
It's really heartbreaking that my mom nearly died in this facility. She developed pneumonia and a sore that wasn't treated for her entire stay. Just last week, they rushed her to the hospital when they noticed her struggling to breathe. They didn't have the right equipment or tools to help her breathe, and the doctor was nowhere to be found. She had to be put on a breathing machine, but she's doing better now since being off it. If my sister hadn't been there last week, we would've gotten a phone call telling us she was gone. They'd probably even try to hide the fact that the infection from her sore spread to her bone. The hospital doctor who cleaned her wound said she'd received terrible care. Nobody from Spring Hill even bothered to call to check on my mom. I'd strongly advise against sending your loved ones to this terrible place. SpringHill of Matawan needs to be closed down right away. I know that God is watching over her amid all this chaos.

"Great care and attention from staff, highly recommend this facility"
Phoebe Wyncote really helped us feel at ease. We knew our loved one was getting the care he needed. The staff went above and beyond, taking the time to learn about his interests and truly engaging with him. They were always attentive and flexible, even up until he passed away. We were very happy with the care provided and would definitely suggest this community to others.

"Untrained Staff and Poor Conditions at Assisted Living Facility"
If you care about your family, avoid this place at all costs! Some of the aides barely know what they're doing, and some are simply unpleasant. It feels like they don't even care - "No heart needed" should be their job slogan! They never have enough staff on hand, and the food is below average. The best meal you might get is a bologna sandwich, seriously! It's a more costly choice if you're paying out of pocket, and they try to squeeze every last penny from you. This place is nothing but a scam! I beg you, don't put your loved one in a position to endure this. It's clear that it's all about profit for them and not about the residents. They use the cheapest supplies and it negatively affects those living there. Avoid this place at all costs!

"Warm, caring, and safe community for seniors"
My mom moved into Atrium of Matawan in 2019. She was welcomed warmly by [name], the Community Relations Counselor, and has been treated kindly by the whole staff since day one. The place is calm and clean, making residents feel comfortable and part of a small community. The nursing team and healthcare aides, led by Nursing Supervisor [name], are skilled, friendly, caring, and responsive to the residents. The dining menus offer daily options, served restaurant-style in a cozy dining room. The Resident Engagement staff ensures there are plenty of fun daily activities and welcomes new ideas from both residents and families. I feel at peace knowing my mom is in capable hands and a safe, friendly community. I also appreciate that the management is very hands-on and has an “open door” policy for any questions or concerns. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the facility has done an amazing job keeping residents safe. The Director, [name], has managed this tough situation well by staying ahead on safety measures and understanding the concerns of residents and their families. He has been transparent by reporting all developments, good and bad. Having an Italian mom who has always done things her own way for 92 years and hasn’t complained is the best testament I can give Atrium Senior Living of Matawan.

"Great job with virus safety and daily updates!"
We are very satisfied with the Atrium. They are doing a great job handling the virus and keep everyone updated with a daily conference call. I think we made the right choice for my aunt.

"Inconsistent Care and Cleanliness"
The dining area is dirty, with spotty utensils and cups that need replacing. Patients have to request assistance multiple times using the bell before approaching staff in person. Occasionally, the room and bathroom are left unclean, with garbage and medical items on the floor.

"Poorly Maintained Facility with Strong Odor and Unresponsive Assistance"
This place is grimy and stinks really bad. It's like the smell of pee is always hanging around. Their cleaning crew doesn't do a good job. The dining area isn't clean either. Trying to find help from anyone here is basically a wild goose chase. How can they let this happen to our old folks?!?!

"Neglected and Abused: Atrium's Mistreatment of Vulnerable Residents"
Hi there, I'm deeply unsatisfied with the service at Atrium and its staff. The facility is extremely messy and the staff behave unprofessionally. I entrusted my dad to them because I can't take care of him myself. However, during my recent visit, I was shocked when an employee was shouting at my dad's roommate for requesting a glass of water, which was denied. Furthermore, my dad never received his lunch and I had to order food for him. While leaving, I came across a patient begging for help from anyone who passed by, yet everyone ignored her including the attending nurse. If that was my parent, I would file a lawsuit against the facility for neglect and abuse. As for the mentioned staff, there's a dire need for severe repercussions for their actions. In addition, I've been told that patients are bathed using hospital gowns, pillowcases, and sheets. My father has experienced this on multiple occasions. I heard the place is under new management but don't be tricked- this is the fourth new owner and if improvements haven't been made yet, there's little hope things will change.

"Distressing Experience & Negligence Warning at The Atrium in Matawan"
I would never consider entrusting even my ailing pet to this establishment. I have had distressing experiences where I've seen physical, mental, and emotional mistreatment at this place. It's honestly upsetting. I beg of you, do not make the mistake of leaving your family members under the care of The Atrium in Matawan. The administrator, whose name I will not disclose, is terribly deceptive. She comes off as amiable at the start but then becomes a terror. They appear extremely greedy for money. I set up a nanny cam and observed outright negligence. Currently, I have legal professionals tackling this issue seriously!

"Comfortable Assisted Living with Caring Staff"
I had some initial issues and filed a complaint which was mostly resolved. My mom stayed in her apartment for 2 days before falling ill. I was starting to know [Removed] in memory care; she was patient and great. Residents dine together and watch TV in the evenings. Mom can stay in the rehab upstairs without moving out. The staff assist with medication and wake her if she's asleep.

"Steer clear from this dysfunctional facility"
This place is terrible. They ensure they'll smoothly look after an individual from assisted living to nursing home care. But, they don't fulfill their promise and put you in a situation where you're forced to shift your dear one. In our circumstance, this turned out to be better as we discovered an excellent, clean, well-ordered place with an incredible team.
