"Friendly staff, feels like home, amazing food; highly recommended."
The best part about this place is the friendly staff. I've been here at Brighton Gardens of Edison for 5 years and it feels like home. I would recommend it to anyone. The food here is fantastic.

"Brighton Gardens of Edison: Mixed care, but recommended."
My parents stayed in the Assisted Living section for a little over a year. Dad moved to Skilled Nursing after Mom passed away, when he needed more care. I'd rate Brighton around 70-75%. The Assisted Living side looks nicer (especially the common areas), but the care was inconsistent. There aren't many truly handicapped rooms/bathrooms there, which unfortunately led to Dad falling multiple times. Skilled Nursing provides better care, as expected, but it's not as clean, and some things need fixing. Overall, my sister and I are satisfied with this community. Most employees are dedicated and caring, forming a strong support network for us. While no place is perfect, I would recommend Brighton Gardens of Edison to others.

"Assisted Living Facility Review: Brighton Gardens of Edison"
We visited Brighton Gardens of Edison. It seemed crowded. The staff we met wasn't great. Also, it's really pricey compared to others. They charge for everything separately.

"Active Community, Opted for Larger Space"
We visited Brighton Gardens of Edison. Residents were active, engaging in coloring, reading, TV, and group activities. We opted for a larger community for more space.

"Warm and Cozy Community with a Care App"
It's a friendly place. When you walk in, you feel the warmth and laughter among the staff. Our move here has been good, and the person overseeing care is responsive. But we expected an app to track daily care routines for our loved one, like medicine and baths. They do have a nice app for social events.

"Parking and Appointment Concerns at Assisted Living Facility"
The place was super clean, and the people were really friendly. I had a meeting set up, but the person I was supposed to meet wasn't there. Someone named [name removed] stepped in and did a good job, but if you can't make it, don't set up a meeting! The issue I had with the place was that there wasn't enough parking, the street outside was always busy (which worries me because my dad still drives), and the common areas were pretty small.

"Unappealing Location, Not Ideal for Mom"
We visited Brighton Gardens of Edison assisted living. The people working there were great. The person in charge was super helpful and answered all my questions. But we didn't feel good about the neighborhood it's in. Also, the place didn't feel welcoming or like a real home. It wasn't clean and tidy. It wasn't the best place for my mom.

"Caring Assisted Living, Needs More Staff and Advocacy"
My mom loves the food, bingo, and caregivers. They take care of her. Sunday mass is nice. It's clean and nice with good food. Mom loves the ice cream. It's expensive, though. They called when mom wasn't well. Need more staff and advocacy.

"Shocking Neglect at Brighton Gardens, Lost Mother Due To Negligence"
I chose Brighton Gardens as a Sub-Acute for my mom after I was impressed with their friendly vibe. My mom was transferred from Hackensack Hospital. The following day, I went to check on her. To my shock, I found my mom's bed on the ground. My mom was out of breath to the point where she turned blue, her blood pressure was 70/42, and there was blood and feces all over the bed. No one came to help despite my frantic calls. I had to leave my mom alone and rush to the reception to get them to call 911. I will never forget or forgive this heinous experience. Sadly, my mom didn't make it, but I must share this nightmare. BE CAUTIOUS.

"Great Staff, Tasty Food"
Since moving my uncle into this community, everything seems to be going very well! The staff are welcoming, attentive, and he enjoys the activity program. The only issue he’s encountered is the lack of flavor in the meals.

"Perfect Place for Our Parents"
I was really impressed by everything at this place. The rooms, amenities, medical care, and staff were all great. We checked out three different places, and Brighton was the best one for our parents. Once we sell their condo, we're bringing them here so they can be close to us for the rest of their lives.

"Mixed feelings about new assisted living facility experience"
This place is alright so far. We're not always happy with the food quality. The staff in the dining room are pretty attentive. They said the price would be one thing, but then the add-ons make it more expensive. It's usually pretty clean. All the staff are very friendly. Since it's still new to us, we didn't know what to ask about. I'd rate them three and a quarter at this point.

"Brighton Gardens of Edison: A Clean, Active, and Caring Place!"
I really like Brighton Gardens of Edison. My mother-in-law enjoys it a lot, and she's really happy there. It's super clean, which is great. They offer a lot of activities for people to choose from, which is nice. Even though they don't have someone specifically assigned to my mom-in-law, they still help her a lot. Plus, they always keep me updated, which I appreciate.

"Caring Community with Clean Environment and Friendly Staff"
I told many people about this place. It's okay for my mom, though activities are limited for her age. Overall, I gave it 4 stars. It's clean inside and out, earning another 4 stars. The staff are super friendly and helpful, getting a full 5 stars from me.

"Underwhelming Care, Misleading Staff Dominate at Assisted Living Facility"
As the kid of a resident, I visited every day and saw a lot of stuff I didn't like. Since I'd never done this before, I had no idea what to expect. But I did think they'd be more fair and understanding than they were. Right at the beginning, I didn't know I had to write my mom's name on her clothes, until the staff told me. A few days later, I found another resident wearing my mom's stuff. When I complained, they blamed me for not labeling everything. This became a routine, anytime I had a problem, it was flipped back on to me. If clothes don't have names, they are handed to anyone. Dealing with the social worker was also a downer. They treated me like a kid, which was disrespectful. I told them about my mom's habit of falling out of bed. Yet, she still fell twice. Then they'd call me in the evening with the news, but wouldn't change anything about it. I made suggestions about safety measures, like bed rails or chairs, but I was always shot down. This is their job, they should know better. Moving her to the assisted living side didn't get any better. They offered few solutions and only "yes"ed my questions. Apparently, they can't restrain the residents but it's okay for them to fall. My mom even got a big bruise. I was told this carelessness was my fault. In my opinion, they run this place to make money, while care for the residents is an afterthought. Everyone repeats a script and just goes through the motions. Visually, the place is nice, and it's cool they have pets. Some staff tried to be nice, but seeing as I was there every day I expected a little more from them. Just a hello or a smile goes a long way, and for what they charge it should be a given. From what I could tell, not many visitors came by often, so I think I stood out. They constantly told tall tales about visitor numbers. Plus, I saw a lot of residents sleeping in public areas during the day. They had a few random activities, but they could've tried harder to get everyone involved.

"Displeased with Assisted Living Experience"
I’ve been dropping in to see my mom every day for a few months now. She's spent the majority of her time in the rehab section, but also stayed a little bit in assisted living, so I feel pretty confident in sharing my thoughts on this place. All of this stuff's new to me, so I wasn't sure what to expect. But I sure did think there'd be more kindness and patience than I’ve seen. At the get-go, nobody told me I needed to label my mom’s clothes with her name. You'd think they'd mention that. I ended up finding another resident wearing my mom's clothes for a few days before I spoke up about it. So they just hand out clothes to random people if there's no name? Doesn't seem right. I didn’t have the best situations with the social worker either. Mostly left a bad taste in my mouth. And I don't like being spoken to as if I’m some kid. I warned them that my mom tends to fall out of bed, yet she's already fell couple of times. They called me about it, and I didn’t know what to say. They’re supposedly obligated to inform me, but they didn’t make steps to prevent it. I tried offering suggestions but was shot down every time. My mom can't be the only person in the place with this problem, but one worker made it seem like she was. That's plain odd to me. When they moved her to assisted living, I brought up the falling issue again. They suggested a rubber mat by her bed and lowering the bed, but that wasn't done right away. Staff smiles and always says yes, but I wish they’d do more than just saying it. They said they can't tie residents, but then it’s okay for them to fall? Seems off. Mom got a nasty bruise on her leg and ended up with internal bleeding. I think she got that bruise from falling out of her bed. She's frail, I don't buy that she wouldn't bruise after falling. My overall impression? The place is more about making money than caring for folks. Yeah, the facility's nice, and the pet dog and cat are cool. Some of the staff really tried to be kind, and I do appreciate that. But every day I was there, I kept hoping for better care.

"Mixed Experience at Assisted Living Facility"
This place is really clean, and the people who take care of residents are nice. But, we've had problems with the managers. It feels like they add charges that we didn't know about, which made budgeting hard. When we talked to them before moving in, it seemed like they didn't want to talk about paying out of pocket. My mom might be eligible for veteran benefits, but we only found out after looking into it a lot. It turns out she can't get both veteran benefits and social security, just one or the other. Overall, it's a decent place. The staff is friendly and they look after my mom well.

"Better options elsewhere for permanent care; just fine for rehab."
My mom stayed here for a short while to get better, and the help she got was okay. They also have assisted living if we wanted to keep her there longer. But after looking at other places, we thought there were better ones for her to stay in permanently, so we chose a different community.

"Definitely worth recommending!"
The place is really clean, and they take good care of my aunt. She enjoys activities like bingo and flower arranging. Sometimes she has to wait a bit when she rings the bell, but that’s probably normal for a busy place. They promised the same caregiver, but I’m not sure if that’s still the case. Overall, I’d recommend it to other families.

"Underhanded Tactics at Overpriced Assisted Living Facility"
The workers at this facility act like they can just take things from the apartments whenever they feel like it. They don't even warn the family or the person living there, they just snatch it while the resident isn't there. They really don't offer much to help people who have trouble hearing. They had bed bugs and didn't even think to let the residents or their families know. They also send updates to the family's doctor without telling the resident or their family. They switch up their employees a lot too. The price they charge for all this isn't worth it in my opinion.
