"Mixed Feelings About Brighton Gardens Assisted Living Facility"
The people who work here are really nice. We like Brighton Gardens and think others would too. But sometimes it's hard to reach them or get answers about medical and medicine questions.

"Good Choice for Assisted Living Near Home"
I’d tell others to check it out. The cost is fair, and it’s right near where I live. The place has a cozy, welcoming feel, it’s neat, and they’re making it even nicer.

"Poor Care and Neglect at Brighton Gardens: Not Recommended"
We didn't have a great time at Brighton Gardens. My brother thought they didn't pay enough attention. My dad felt ignored and left alone too much. They did not ask him to join in the activities. He fell down a lot, had to go to the hospital, and after a two-day checkup, the doctor said my dad needed rehab. Sadly, my dad passed away. In the end, both my brother and my daughter would say don't go to Sunrise. It wasn't what they promised us.

"Not Quite Homey: A Review of Brighton Gardens of West Orange"
I really liked Brighton Gardens of West Orange. It’s run by Sunrise, just like the place we picked. The only thing we didn’t like was it didn’t feel like home. It felt more like a hotel.

"Decent but lacking activity and setup options."
The community was decent, but it felt too inactive. I wished for a place with pre-furnished setups.

"High Prices and Poor Care Disguised As Quality Assisted Living"
This place sure knows how to empty your pockets! They sneakily increase prices for each service, and they do not even chat with you about it. The food menu sounds tasty but you're really getting low-quality ingredients and not-so-great meals. There's not much happening here, there's barely anything fun to do. The staff? They're all over the place. Some are very kind, but others are uncaring and won't go out of their way for anyone. The building and grounds are well looked after - no complaints there. Wish I could say the same for how they look after the residents living here.

"Mixed Experience at Assisted Living; Great Service, Limited Care Options"
I didn't realize it wasn't a full care facility. If my loved one needed nursing care beyond 14 days, she'd have to move. They were great during her stay, though. Service was excellent. They prefer their standard options, like their affiliated doctor, which I declined. They still sent their doctor and charged for it, which I'm disputing. The staff was wonderful, and my loved one misses them most. I needed closer care options for her. There aren't many residents, so activities were limited. She was often bored.

"Friendly Staff and Good Food at Brighton Gardens"
I went to Brighton Gardens just once, and I think it’s pretty alright. The people working there are super nice and make you feel welcome. I had a chance to eat there too, and I’d say the food is really good, like a solid 4 out of 5.

"Decent Tour, But Not Ideal for My Uncle's Needs"
I visited this place with my uncle to see if it would suit him. The tour was good, and everyone was friendly. The community seemed nice overall. However, after looking around, I felt it might not be the best fit for my uncle and his needs.

"Caring Haven!"
My mom's been here for a short stay after surgery. The staff takes great care of her, and I feel comfortable with the attention she gets. She's making good progress and will be back home soon. I'm really grateful for this place and would recommend it.

When we went to check out this place, it seemed nice. The folks we talked to were friendly, and they have stuff to do every day. But my family member preferred the other place a bit more.

"Too Far for Me!"
It was okay at that place. There wasn't much to talk about. The folks were really friendly and tried to help a lot. The place was clean and pleasant. My only issue was it was too far from where I am.

"No Problems Seen! Great Staff, Spacious Property, Active Residents!"
During my tour, the staff was really nice and took the time to show us around in a detailed way. The place had lots of room and the bedrooms and bathrooms were nice. The staff was busy helping the residents and making sure they were active all day. I didn't see any problems and the community looked awesome!

"Clean and Kind Assisted Living, Not Right for My Mom"
We toured this place, but it wasn't right for my mom. It's nice and clean. The staff was friendly. Everything looked well taken care of. Many things influenced our decision, but this wasn't it. Still, it's a nice place.

"Serious Issues With Sunrise Senior Living Uncovered by Family"
Not even a week after putting my parents in Brighton Gardens on August 4, multiple health professionals told us that Sunrise Senior Living is like the fast food of elder care facilities, and my family couldn't agree more. We thought my mom was going to get stellar care, but it's been substandard. They don't offer a lot of food choices, and they clearly don't have enough staff who also aren't paid enough and don't seem to know what they're doing. This is clear in how they do their work. It really doesn't seem like my parents are getting what they're paying for. At their first meal at Brighton Gardens, two other people living there told my mom to protect any valuable items. And just as they warned, within a day of my parents moving in, my mom's cigarette case got stolen - and it had jewelry in it. Now, just under two weeks after they moved in, my sister and I are already trying to find a better place for them. When my mom rings for help to use the restroom, a staff member comes in rushing to reset the ring but then leave right away, saying they have to help other people but will be back soon, but they don't come back for another half hour. This is not okay and it happens every time my mom needs to use the restroom!! My mom uses a wheelchair and could end up having an accident because there aren't enough staff. The staff are also the ones who serve meals, so when they're needed in the dining area, they have to leave the residents, which isn't fair to anyone and sometimes they can be quite impolite. The building is really nice, and the supervisors are okay, so this isn't about them, but the $9000+ that my parents pay every month isn't worth the lack of good care they're getting.

"Brighton Gardens: A Great Memory Care Community"
We brought our loved one here, and I believe it's a wonderful community for memory care. We visited many places, and some of them felt quite gloomy. But at Brighton Gardens, we're content.

We checked out a bunch of places for my mom and Sunrise of Basking Ridge was the best. All of them were nice, but this one was just right for us.

"Assisted Living Facility Review: Nice but Some Limitations"
This place is pretty good. The staff is friendly. There are more people using wheelchairs and walkers here. The director really understands the residents well. The rooms are small.
