"Mixed Feelings About Brookdale Cape May Assisted Living Facility"
Brookdale Cape May has really nice, caring, and involved staff, which is the best part about it. The place is pretty good considering its age, but it could be better. It's not too big, so there aren't tons of activities or food choices. The food can be hit or miss - some meals are good, others not so much. It's just okay overall. They make you sit in assigned spots at meals, which makes it harder to chat with others. Since it's in NJ, where things cost more, it's not a super great deal. Compared to other options in the area, it's the best one overall.

"Hospice care good, but facility understaffed"
Our experience was a bit different because we had hospice care for Mom, so she got good care from them. The facility itself didn’t have enough staff.

"Great Care and Big Apartment at Good Price"
The staff has been really helpful. They're doing well and have stayed on top of things during the tough Covid lockdowns. They've managed to keep everyone safe. We got lucky and got a big apartment at a good price. There's lots of space, and they take good care of it. They clean regularly, and the people who take care of her are doing a great job. She tells me the food is good too.

"Nice Tour, But Price Too High"
This place was one of the options I was checking out for my husband's care. I got a nice tour of it, and everything went smoothly. It looked good from what I saw. The people working there were nice and helpful. They answered all my questions, and it was a pleasant experience. Sadly, it cost more than we could afford, but I found another place that suited us better.

"My Second Choice"
I liked this community a lot when we visited. It was my second favorite on the list. The place looked clean, and the staff were friendly. However, another community we toured earlier had a little more of what we wanted.

"Dad's Care and Happiness Compromised at Current Facility"
I'm not pleased with my dad's care at this center. They suggested moving him to a different place with an on-site physical therapy center on the third floor, but his insurance was not accepted there. As a result, he had therapy in his own room, and it didn't go very well. My dad was always active, but he started napping during the day and not sleeping at night. This caused concerns about his sleep pattern. They suggested moving him to a locked unit. He's not content there. We'll have to monitor his progress closely. He's unhappy here and I'd prefer to see him in assisted living. I can't recommend the care at this place right now.

"Bright, clean place with helpful staff and lots of activities"
The place looks nice inside and out. When you enter, there's a big, open area that's bright, cheerful, and clean with no bad smells. The staff and residents were dressed nicely. I saw residents interacting with each other and the staff. There are lots of activities—Bingo was going on when I visited, with about a dozen people playing. The facility is set up like small communities with their own sitting areas and dining spaces, plus a large dining area and access to outdoor courtyards. I was really impressed that all residents wear a call button in case they need help, which is important because falls are common. The person I talked to was very helpful and seemed genuinely interested. Staff knew the residents by name, and they interacted well. Religious services are also offered, with a Protestant Clergy coming every Sunday and Bible study on Fridays. I didn’t get to see the outdoor areas much, but overall, I think it’s a good facility.

"Great Staff and Location"
The staff are very caring. The location is great, close to town and beaches. Adding balconies and a koi pond in the garden would be fantastic.

"Beautiful inside, caring staff, flexible menu"
The inside of the facility is beautiful. The outside isn't very attractive, but it's March, so that's expected. Stacey was very helpful and caring. I loved that residents could order from a limited menu instead of planning for the week.

"Residents Enjoy Flexible Dining Options at Assisted Living Facility"
Inside, the facility is beautiful. However, the outdoor area isn't very appealing, but that's typical for March. Stacey was kind and helpful. I appreciated that residents could choose from a limited menu instead of ordering for the whole week.

"Best choice for Mom's quality of life at 95!"
The staff at Emeritus has been very caring and helpful from the start. The medical team goes out of their way to make sure the resident is comfortable and creates a care plan that meets their specific needs. Everyone does their best to make both the resident and their family feel comfortable. I am extremely pleased with the care my mother is getting. I’m sure we picked the best place for her quality of life at age 95.

"Feeling Grateful for a Smooth Transition!"
Thanks to A Place for Mom and she at Emeritus Cape May, my mother spent her first night there, and she seems to be getting used to it after some initial nerves. Everyone is really nice and understanding. She’s moving from a not-so-great rehab place in PA to NJ, and I’m hopeful she will settle into her new home soon.
