"Family Engagement Key to Enjoyable Experience at Brookdale Evesham"
The staff at Brookdale Evesham are really friendly and helpful. However, there aren't enough staff members, and you can tell they are stressed because of this. My family was deeply involved in the moving process and communication, which helped a lot. Everything went well overall. I think it's important for families to stay involved no matter where they choose to go. The meals are okay, though some are better than others. One suggestion I have is to match the services paid for with what's actually provided and what the residents expect. There are clear gaps, and it often falls on families to address these issues. Since everyone's needs are different, it's hard to say if I'd recommend this place to everyone, but in general, I would.

"Subpar Care Home Fails to Fulfill Promises, Blames Patients"
The people in charge at this care home knew my mom had memory problems and convinced us to choose them, promising that she did not need a place specifically for memory care. They said they could offer the same care as specialized facilities. We mostly cared about how quickly they could respond to my mom's help button and that they would stick to a schedule, especially for help with the bathroom and waking up or going to bed. When things started going wrong, they pointed fingers at my mom, saying she was being difficult or could make her own choices. Given that her decision-making abilities were impaired by a stroke, this was upsetting to hear from their chief nurse. There are not enough staff members who are well-trained. My mom fell one time and had to wait a whole HOUR before help arrived, even though we had called them. Avoid this place if you want proper care for your aging parents.

"Staff Shortage Hinders Care Quality"
The main issue is they don't have enough staff. The helpers are mostly nice and good at their jobs, but there aren't enough of them. It's hard for them to talk to the boss people, which causes problems.

"Assisted Living Facility Review: Mixed Experience with Care and Safety"
It's been okay, but not great. At first, we had issues with Mom not getting help bathing, despite paying extra for it. Eventually, we stopped because it was too inconsistent, so now she does it alone. She's also had two falls where no one responded when she pressed the emergency button in her room. They have a problem with residents using it for non-emergencies, and they can't prioritize the calls. We've had to talk to the boss about it a few times. As a temporary fix, she now wears her phone around her neck.

"Impressive Tour, But Not the Best Fit for Family"
Our family visited the place in person, and it really wowed us. However, it still didn’t feel quite as good as where our family member lives now.

"Mixed Experience with Aides, Great Facility and Activities"
The aides are sometimes good, but can be a bit lazy. Overall, they do a pretty good job. Whenever I bring up an issue, they address it promptly. The facility itself is really nice. My mom participates a lot in the activities and seems to like them. Before coming to Brookdale, she used to just sit in her chair all day. Now she's more active and it's been really good for her.

"Friendly Staff and Worth the Cost"
The staff are super nice and always ready to help you with everything. They sit down and talk with you, guiding you through the whole process. It's pricey, but worth it because of all they do for him. I would definitely recommend Brookdale Evesham to others.

"Positive Experience at Assisted Living Facility"
We had a good experience overall. Although it was a short stay, my loved one enjoyed her time there. The staff, from those who gave us the tour to the nurses and aides, were friendly and helpful. They accommodated us well. The facility itself was very nice.

"Brookdale: Good Community with Room for Improvement"
Brookdale is a decent place, but it has room to grow. Because of Covid, they’ve been bringing meals to rooms, and they’re often cold. This makes it hard for my family member, who has trouble moving, to heat up their food. It would be easier if the food was hot to start with. The virus has also made it tough to keep staff, which changes how well they can look after everyone. I’m really worried about how long it takes them to respond when someone’s in trouble. My family member has a wristband they can press to let the staff know they need help. This could be for anything, like needing a drink or if they’ve fallen and can’t get up. I thought they had a way to tell serious problems from small ones, but it doesn’t seem like it. They should really focus on getting to people faster, especially in emergencies. Brookdale hasn’t been clear about how they handle care. It would help if they gave families a full rundown of what to expect. I’ve had to figure out a lot on my own. Some nurses and staff don’t know things I thought they would, which is surprising. And with what we’re paying, I was shocked to find out some care isn’t included. There’s also a language gap with the nurses, making it hard to talk sometimes. Both families and staff would benefit from better training and open, regular talks. Brookdale has fun activities, even if my loved one doesn’t join in much. The people here are really kind, and some staff do more than they have to. The place has a nice feel, and I like that. They’re always ready to fix any problems I mention, so I’m hopeful for change. They’re just having a hard time with Covid’s impact, like not having enough staff, which affects everyone living here. Once things get back to normal, I think it’ll get better, and Brookdale could be an awesome place to live.

"Mixed Experience at Assisted Living Facility"
Due to Covid, there was a bit of confusion at first about visiting. They didn't allow visitors on weekends, but now they do, which I'm glad about. I've had some frustrations with small things, like my loved one's TV remote not working. Also, there's a tear in her room's carpet that her walker gets caught in, which could be dangerous. They said they fixed both issues, but we're still having the same problems. My loved one enjoys the food a lot, which is really important for her. However, I think they could do a better job cleaning. The common areas are very clean, but her room is less so. On the bright side, the nurses are extremely nice. They are definitely providing the service she needs. I appreciate that they offer laundry service for washing her clothes. Overall, I feel she's getting what she requires. Adjusting to this new living situation can be tough for both the resident and the family. There are some social, emotional, and financial costs involved. Despite all this, I can't say that I'm unhappy at all.

"Mixed Feelings on Assisted Living Tour"
I didn't feel great about my tour. The person, was nice but seemed like this wasn't his main job. I asked to see both a 2-bedroom and 1-bedroom, but only saw the 2-bedroom, which looked really old. It was hard to get a good sense of the place because there was a concert going on, so I couldn't explore much. They should have someone who's good at giving tours. On the bright side, they had lots of activities planned, and the place was clean and odor-free. Unfortunately, I didn't meet any residents to gauge their feelings about living there.

"Mixed feelings about Brookdale, spacious rooms, no memory care."
I kinda liked this Brookdale place. It's my second pick from all the Brookdale spots. The rooms are big, which is nice. But, here's the catch - they don't have memory care. So, if Mom needs that later on, we'd have to shuffle her to another place. That's a bit of a downer. On the bright side, both this one and the Brookdale in Voorhees have residents who are like guides. They help new folks settle in and get used to everything. So, yeah, I'm stuck in between.

"Facility Tour Disappoints With Poor Cleanliness"
I wasn't really satisfied with my visit to this facility. The individual who was meant to tour me around showed up late, still, they were nice. The building itself seems a bit dated compared to other places I've seen. The apartment they showed me was pretty gross. They really need to step up their game in keeping the place clean.

"Facility Oversells, Underdelivers: Not Worth the Hefty Fees"
I'm really unhappy with this assisted living place. They told me one thing about the cost of caring for her, but then the fees keep going up without warning. The quality of her care is poor. I've had to buy stuff they said was included. I'm even thinking about hiring extra help just so someone will be there to make sure she gets changed on time. It's a big added expense. She can't get staff to come help when she needs it. When she rings for them, they don't come until the next morning. They've made promises they don't keep. I've had to buy her own dishes and cutlery because they don't provide them. When we had to leave town, they expected us to buy stuff before we went because they said they didn't know what she'd need while we were away. They're not even cleaning her room, we have to do it ourselves. And they are charging us each time she's taken to eat. I've spoken to the staff but there's been no changes. I wouldn't tell anyone to put their loved ones here because they aren't going to get what they're paying for.

"Nice place, but our second choice"
This was a nice-looking community! I really liked how the rooms were bigger than some other places I toured. They felt more like individual apartments. The residents seemed active and friendly, and the facility was nice. This was our second choice because another one was closer to our family.

"Decent tour, some drawbacks"
We checked out this place, and it seemed nice. I wish it was a bit brighter inside, with fewer hallways without windows. Also, it was a tad over our budget and not as conveniently located as other places we considered. It's okay overall, but we didn't choose it for Mom.

"Mixed Feelings about Brendenwood Assisted Living"
I recently reached out to A Place For Mom to find a new home for my mom. They were super quick to respond and linked me up with a great advisor who helped us out a bunch. Big props to them! After touring Brendenwood and a few others, we settled on this one for my mom. The staff is really nice and knows their stuff. The one-bedroom apartment they offer is nice and roomy, which eased our minds about her moving. The price seems fair for what they offer, and they seem to have everything planned out well for our needs right now. I'm really hoping my mom will be happy and do well here. My only worry is that they don't have nursing care on-site. If she gets sicker, we might have to move her again. But I think it's the right spot for her to live comfortably and safely while still having her independence and dignity.

This place has a 1 bedroom studio for $5818, where they help with medicine for parents, provide a shower for mom, and there's a one-time community fee of $3675. They accept VA benefits. The rooms are really nice, clean, and the staff is friendly. Plus, the dining room is nice too.
