"Nice but pricey, residents less happy"
When looking for a place for my mom, we checked out Brookdale Hillsborough. The place was really nice, but it cost more than other places we saw. Also, the residents didn't seem as happy.

"Great Staff, Poor Billing at Assisted Living Facility"
This is a nice place, and I would tell others to bring their loved ones here. The billing is terrible, and you can't get answers to your questions or concerns. The dining and nursing staff talk to the family really well! The lady who cleans my loved one's room is amazing, and I think her name is [name removed]. The nurses and aides are very patient with the residents.

"Small Studios Didn't Fit"
My dad didn't like Brookdale Hillsborough. He wanted a bigger apartment, but they only had tiny studios.

"Mixed Feelings: Review of Assisted Living Facility"
Brookdale seems more like a nursing home than assisted living. When you walk in, you see clients sitting quietly, not interacting. It's surprising and might put off families and clients who aren't very sick and can chat with staff. That's why they don't join activities. The food is bland; not everyone needs bland meals. As people age, they need more taste and smell stimulation. Spice could help. But special diets are okay if a doctor orders them. Brookdale does a good job with entertainment for seniors. But why is it so expensive? Especially for clients who don't need much help. Insurance covers PT services. So where does the money go? The facility's fire insurance might be pricey. But no one's getting rich there, even the administration. It would be helpful to see a cost breakdown sometime. Was it really necessary to buy all new lobby furniture this year? The old chairs were fine. They don't look that different. These are just some thoughts.

"Assisted Living Facility: Cozy Atmosphere with Spacious Common Areas"
This community seemed pleasant during our visit. The staff we encountered were friendly, and the atmosphere felt cozy and welcoming. However, the main room and dining area were slightly too large for my loved one.

"Good Facility, But Not the Right Fit for Mom"
The people who showed us around did really well. They knew a lot and could answer all our questions. It looks like there’s plenty to do for the folks who stay there. The rooms are pretty big and neat. But somehow, I think this place isn’t quite right for my mom.

"Expensive Memory Care with Limited Space"
This memory care place isn’t affordable—it costs three times what my mother-in-law pays now. The property looks nice and clean, and the staff is friendly. But the unit for memory care is quite small, which worries us.
