"Elderly Mom's Repeated Hot Water Issues Ignored by Facility Staff"
For five years, my mom's been living here, and she's been having on-and-off issues with getting hot water in her unit. It's just kept getting worse. The folks running the place haven't done anything about it, and they don't seem to care at all. It just doesn't make sense that they can't sort out something as basic as hot water for someone who's over 90. We've emailed them, my mom's spoken up about it, but nobody seems to listen.

They try their best, but activities disappoint; too costly.

"Lacking Scenery, But Still Nice"
The community wasn't very pretty, but it's still a nice place. I just wanted more scenic views.

"Assisted Living Community Needs Improvements"
Our family visited this place in person. It seemed okay, but it looked a little old and some stuff was broken. It cost a bit less than another place we saw, but not enough to make us choose it.

"My Experience with Classic Resident Turned Five Star"
Let me share the facts about my mom’s time at Classic Resident, which later became Five Star. Brace yourself, it’s not a glowing review. Unfair Treatment: There was some serious favoritism going on. People in Independent Living had helpers and made messes, but they got away with it. Meanwhile, those in Assisted Living were treated differently. My brother tried to talk to the Director about this, but she dodged the conversation. Shocking Neglect: One morning at 7:00 AM, I stumbled upon my mom sitting alone in a room, like she was forgotten. The Director of Nursing had wheeled her there. Why? No good reason. Car Service Fail: Five Star’s car service flaked out multiple times. They left my mom stranded after doctor’s appointments during winter. I had to scramble and get a taxi. Not cool. A Series of Mishaps: There were more incidents, but the last one was the worst. It pushed my mom toward the end. Medication Mess: As the Medical Proxy, I should’ve been in the loop. But no, they called in a Psychiatrist without my permission. My mom was acting weird due to a bladder infection. The doc changed her meds, and it was a disaster. She stopped eating and eventually starved herself to death. Heartbreaking. Bottom Line: If you’re desperate and have no other options, maybe consider this place. But honestly, it’s far from ideal. I blame Five Star and the Director of Nursing at the time. Oh, and the chicken? Always looked undercooked, even though they insisted it was fine. Remember, this is just my experience. Your mileage may vary.

"Food Needs Improvement, But Overall Positive Experience"
The food at Five Star Premier Residences of Teaneck needs work. There are lots of choices on the menu, which is good, but the cook tends to overcook everything. On the bright side, the staff were super helpful when we were moving in, especially when we had to switch apartments at the last minute. Overall, our experience here has been pretty good.

"Wonderful 5-Star Assisted Living Experience"
My family decided it was time for my 92-year-old mother to stop driving and be around people. A Place for Mom suggested the 5-star facility, and it’s been wonderful. Mom enjoys her beautiful apartment, friends, card games, and garden patio. The staff, cleanliness, service, and care are excellent.

"Great place with fantastic food but could improve resident interaction"
My mom has been living at Five Star Residences of Teaneck since October, and so far, it’s been a really positive experience. The campus is beautiful, the apartments are nice, and the food is the best we’ve had we tried several places before choosing this one. They also offer excellent evening entertainment and fun holiday and special event parties. However, I do wish they were better at checking in on residents and helping them get to know others there. It seems like they don’t do much to help with that.

"Lovely Place, but Needs Better Social Support"
My mom has been at Five Star Residences of Teaneck since October. So far, it's been a very good experience: beautiful campus, nice apartments, very good food (the best we tried, and we visited several places before deciding), excellent evening entertainment, and fun holiday/special event parties. The one thing I wish they did better is checking on residents and helping her meet more people. From what I can see, they don't really help with that.

"Beautiful but Hard to Navigate"
This place didn't feel quite right for assisted living. It looked amazing, but getting around wasn't easy. It seemed like it might be too much to handle trying to find your way around.

"Wonderful Experiences So Far"
My mom hasn't been here long, but everything has been great so far. When I toured, the director met with me personally, and we had several talks. All the staff I talked to were super friendly and really showed they cared about my mom. Mom is still a bit unsure, but I'm hoping she'll come around because this place seems really nice.
