"Unsatisfied Reviewer Describes La Paula's Inadequate Care and Meals"
Initially, La Paula seemed perfect for my dad. It was near my house and felt like home, which he was accustomed to. The caregivers were decent, save for one who struggled with English, creating communication problems as only two of them were American. Instead of a nurse, a medication aide or other caregivers were distributing his medicine. The food was disappointing, consisting of sandwiches and soup each night. There wasn't a variety of wholesome options like veggies, and an excessive amount of pork was served. It felt like we were only paying for a room. The activities weren't engaging, largely due to the fact most residents were in advanced stages of Alzheimer's. This deeply saddened my dad since he could barely interact with them, given his early-stage, mild dementia. Recognizing that moving him elsewhere could delay Alzheimer's progression, my family decided to relocate him to a facility with professional medical care, nutritious meals, and opportunities for therapeutic interactions. My dad stayed at La Paula for six months.

"Great support during my aunt's transition to assisted living!"
Things are going well since my aunt moved into this community. She is still getting used to all the changes, but everyone has been really friendly and helpful. We’re very happy with everything so far!

"So-so living facility, too gloomy for mom"
It's an okay place but it's kinda gloomy and sad. I wouldn't let my mom stay here.
