"Mixed Experience: Exceptional Assisted Living, Disappointing Nursing Unit"

When my mom lived in assisted living, it was perfect, like a 5 out of 5, but when she moved to the nursing area, it was more like a 1 out of 5. She stayed in assisted living for 9 and a half years, and they took great care of her. However, in the last year and a half before she passed away, things went downhill in the nursing unit. Some of her things disappeared, including our family Bible and a portrait. After she passed, some of her jewelry was missing too. It seems like the place isn't as good as it used to be since they changed the people in charge and the staff. It was surprising when someone from the administration said they moved their own mom out of the nursing unit to live at home. If you're looking for assisted living, it's a good choice, but be careful if you're considering the nursing unit.

"Great Assisted Living, Disappointing Nursing Unit"

My mom's time in assisted living here would have easily garnered a 5-star rating but her stay in the nursing unit would hardly get a star. She enjoyed nearly 10 years of excellent care in assisted living. But in the nursing unit, where she lived for a year and a half before her passing, the level of care was deeply unsatisfactory. Several of her personal belongings disappeared, including our family Bible and a family photo. After her death, we found even some pieces of her jewelry were missing. It seems the quality of the home has declined after some changes in the administration and staff in recent years. It surprised me when someone from the administration confessed that they had moved their own mother out of the nursing unit to live at home. If assisted living is what you need, this place is a gem. Be cautious, however, if you plan on transitioning to the nursing unit.

"Good Facility, But Not Right for My Step-Mom"

The facility was big and nice, but felt very old. There were many older residents, and the place had a pretty dated vibe. The guide was very attentive and gave a detailed tour. However, the $25,000 initial fee made me a bit wary. Overall, it wasn't the best choice for my step-mom.

"Great place, but no private room for dad"

I really liked it there. It was older and felt homey. But for my dad, they didn’t have a private room, which made it tough. He loves sports and needs his own bathroom and shower.

"Struggled to reach staff; feels clinical, not suitable for Mom."

It was really tough to get in touch with anyone at the assisted living place. I think it's because it's summer and one of the staff was out most of the week. The office didn't know her schedule. We went to visit on Friday. It just wouldn't work for my mom. It feels too much like a hospital inside, which isn't what we wanted.

"Hard to Reach Staff and Hospital-Like Environment Unappealing"

It was tough trying to reach the staff, but it's summertime and the main contact was gone for most of the week. The office didn't seem to know her schedule. This place won't work for Mom. It feels like a hospital and that isn't what we want.
