"Lack of Care and Hygiene at Assisted Living Facility"
This place is just terrible! Everything, especially my friend's room, reeks of pee! There's only one aide for almost 30 patients in the memory care unit. And you know what she does? She just lounges in the TV room. If one of the patients wanders off, nobody's there to check on them. This is especially concerning given the fact that most of them can barely walk! A patient could be lying on the floor and nobody would even realise it! The state of the bedrooms and bathrooms is pathetic. They're incredibly dirty and seem like they've never been cleaned. The toilet bowl even had black mold growing in it! It's also really sad how they serve food but don't help those who can't feed themselves. My friend's weight has now dropped to around 80-90 lbs. Yeah, this place might be on the cheaper side, but the level of care provided here is abysmal, especially in the memory care unit where patients require extensive assistance. I strongly urge you to reconsider if you're thinking about choosing this place.

"Facility Ignoring Refund Requests After Mother's Death"
My mom died. They cashed check and won't answer my emails or calls about giving back the extra money. For over a year now, I've been trying to get the extra money back that I paid in advance for February after my mom died. They took the money, then sent me bills showing a credit on them for 10 months. Last month, I talked to a female employee and she promised to talk to the accounting department.

"Unlivable Conditions and Poor Food at Assisted Living Facility"
This place is really bad for anyone to reside in. I honestly cannot see how it could be considered liveable. Black mold is growing in the hallway right by the bedrooms due to the water that leaks in. That's not even mentioning the bugs and mice running around in the apartments. It boggles my mind that this place could have passed any health evaluation. The food is barely good enough to eat, I wouldn't even feed it to my pet. If you care about your parents at all, don't make them live here.

"Assisted Living Facility Review"
Our experience is just okay. It feels like they don't really help much. When I've had issues, it's hard to find the right person to talk to. They keep redirecting me to different staff members. Also, there are some safety concerns with the interior. Billing is a problem too. They don't tell you if you're late; they just add a fee. Staff should keep better track of residents' medical needs. They help with meds and meals, but housekeeping could improve. It doesn't look clean even with their services.

After trying to keep my mom at home for a long time, we had to find a safe place nearby for her. Clare Estates has been great. The staff is friendly and dedicated. Mom has adjusted better than we hoped. She looks healthier, is socially active, gets medical support, and is eating well-balanced meals every day. We're very happy and relieved, and so is she!

The Clare Estate was recommended by A Place For Mom and was one of the three places we visited before making our choice. Our first impressions were very positive because: 1. The place was clean and well-maintained. 2. The layout was organized and efficient. 3. The marketing director, gave a knowledgeable and attentive interview. 4. Every staff member we met was friendly, upbeat, and made an effort to remember our names. 5. The security was reassuring. 6. The staff interacted well with the residents. 7. There was good medical staff available. 8. It’s close to our family home. 9. They offer a clear pricing structure, not billing separately for each service. 10. The atmosphere was kind and gracious. These are not in any specific order.
