"Assisted Living Facility Falls Short After Ownership Changes"
My relative moved in when new owners took over. I don't know how it was before, but people say things got worse. Food quality dropped and they often run out. Emails take too long to answer, sometimes over a week. Even when I asked, I didn't know who's in charge when the director's away. They couldn't give me info about the new owners either. Care is just okay now. The person I talked to before was great, but they fired her. Now, it feels like they don't care about my relative. They never remember me when I visit, even after checking in. I wouldn't recommend them.

"Not the Right Fit"
The community is okay, but it's not the right fit.

"Hit or Miss: Assisted Living Facility Experience"
This place was nice, but they don't promise a bed. Some folks got turned away when things got tough until Medicaid kicked in. Plus, there's no smooth transition here.

"Loved One's Condition Concerns, Nursing Home Not Preferred"
Our family visited the community, it was nice. But, they suggested moving our loved one to their nursing home, The Orchards. We didn't want that.

"Friendly Staff and Knowledgeable Guides at The Orchards at Bartley"
The Orchards at Bartley was a really nice place to visit. The staff was super friendly, and the tour guide knew a lot. They answered all my questions and told me about everything they have.

"Be Wary Of This Deceptive, Neglectful Assisted Living Facility"
We put our family member in this assisted living home that A Place for Mom told us about. Be really careful, they tell you everything you want to hear to get you to sign up. I suggest asking lots of questions and knowing that they don't actually offer a lot of help, if any at all. They don't have a nurse there 24/7, even though they make it seem like they do. If you question the way they're treating your family member or if their workers are good at their job, they will just tell you to leave. Make sure you have a lawyer take a look at the contract before you sign it. This is just a place for them to make money, it doesn't feel like a family at all. Their not-so-trained workers spend more of their time goofing off with each other than they do with the residents or guests. Make sure you visit several times and talk to the residents who aren't scared of getting in trouble with the workers for sharing their experiences. We put our family member there because the place was good-looking and clean, but we found all this out after we did.

"Disappointed Visit: Ignored Residents and Poor Menu"
Left before the tour even started. Got there ahead of time. Saw the staff just talking to each other, kind of not paying attention to the people living there. The place felt more like a hotel than a home...just my opinion. The person in charge didn't seem as involved as we hoped, maybe that's how she is with the residents too? The food choices didn't really stack up.

"Considered for Mom, nice but found better fit elsewhere."
We considered this community for Mom—nice, clean, friendly staff. Another place felt better suited.

"Mom Thrives at Assisted Living"
My mom is super happy there. She enjoys it a lot and has made nice friends. Initially, she didn't want to go because she liked living near my brother, but now she loves it. They accepted her without extra fees, even though she's on social security income. The activities are limited to bingo night, movie night, and a weekly outing; they could use more. The food is excellent, but with her dementia, she tends to overeat. Thankfully, her friends help monitor her intake. She shares an apartment with two beds and exercises with her roommate every morning. She's rarely alone and even gets a free manicure from the onsite beautician. Overall, she's happier and safer, and I don't worry about her medication.

"Great Assisted Living Experience!"
I really liked this place. I left my medical records and application with them. I got to see both the long-term care unit and the Alzheimer's unit.
