"Assisted Living Facility: Friendly Staff, Easy Move-In, Clean Environment"
The staff is nice, but communication could be better. Security ensures safety indoors. Moving in was easy, and the place was clean. I'd recommend it.

"Friendly Staff, Balanced Needs, Country Setting: Recommended Assisted Living"
Everyone was nice. Staff interaction was good. More veggies needed in meals. Chose this place for loved one's needs and country location. Recommend others check it out.

"Family praises Desert Peaks Assisted Living for caring, welcoming environment."
We are very happy with how the staff at Desert Peaks Assisted Living takes care of our brother. He had bad experiences at other places recently. At one, he lost all his clothes within two days. It was really sad there. Desert Peaks is different. From the moment we arrived, it felt like home for the residents, not just a place to forget about them. Thank you for always being there when we have questions or worries. We will definitely tell others about how much we like Desert Peaks Assisted Living!

"Assisted Living Facility Needs Better Organization After Lobby Painting"
The place looked messy and chaotic because they painted the lobby.

"Mixed Experience: Recommended for Short-Term Care"
We recommend this community for your loved one. We left due to changes in respite care, but it remains a great option. We only used it for respite care, which didn't meet our long-term needs.

"Desert Peaks: Caring staff, engaging activities, residents feel valued"
Desert Peaks is a small community where you won't get lost. The staff is helpful, friendly, and caring. My husband's parents live there and they appreciate the attention and concern for their health and well-being. There are lots of activities both inside and outside the facility, and residents are encouraged to join in. My husband's parents like it there.

"Mixed Feelings About Assisted Living"
I visited this place for a tour, and the staff was friendly and helpful. They answered all my questions, and the facility was clean and pleasant. However, it felt too big with too many people, and the Mexican food wasn’t a good fit for my mom.

"Assisted Living Delivers Beyond Expectations"
"This facility has exceeded my expectations. The staff take my Grandma for walks around the facility, engaging her beyond the memory care unit. They keep her active with conversations and activities like seasonal decorations, arts/crafts, and trips to art galleries. The staff treats her well and is always available. I highly recommend this community to other families."

"Unsatisfactory assisted living facility, manager too busy to meet up"
My daughter and I had been talking to the manager of this assisted living facility about getting my mom a room there. We had a meeting scheduled, but when we got there, we were told the manager was too busy to see us. Even though I was surprised, the assistant manager was friendly enough and showed us around. The place didn't make a good first impression. It smelled really bad in the hallways where the older adults stayed. I did meet a really nice nurse while I was there. He was helping some of the people living there, which was good to see. I got to see the kitchen and meet the cook. She was nice and said the food was fresh every day. But when I saw the Alzheimer's section, it smelled even worse. There were people sleeping on the couch and at the lunch tables, which was a little strange. It got even worse when I saw the TV room. It looked like nobody cleaned it since lunch. Food and drinks were spilled everywhere. It was pretty gross. On our way back, we saw the manager who was supposedly "busy". She acted like she didn't want to meet us, which was pretty rude. Anyway, we ended up getting my mom a room at a different assisted living place. Hopefully this review will keep others from wasting their time like I did.

"Neglectful Assisted Living Facility Disregards Patients and Sanitation"
I went for a visit to this assisted living facility and left dissatisfied. There seemed to be no activities for the residents – there was a bulletin board boasting various events, but none were in progress. After meals, residents in wheelchairs were left pushing themselves while employees brazenly strolled by, engrossed in their cellphones. The director was holed up in her office, busy on her own phone with the doors shut. The staff member who gave us the tour appeared irritated by our presence. Dining room floors were visibly grimy with food-laden plates left unattended, and it was clear the carpet hadn't been cleaned in a while. Exiting from a backdoor, we noticed four employees taking their smoke break, leaving us wondering who was taking care of the patients. We dubbed this the 'back', a gloomy area segregated for dementia patients. Here, residents were idle, slouched on sofas in sleep with a staff member absent-mindedly on the phone. The facility only had a nurse on call. Rooms were cramped and the staff seemed too preoccupied to attend to the patients' needs - by being busy I mean constantly on their phones or smoking. This place is overpriced, and I refuse to pay for such neglect towards the care of my parents.

"Desert Peaks: A Neglected, Sinking Ship of a Facility"
This place is seriously short-staffed. It's a total unprofessional environment. Everything from their services to their medical care is lacking. Clearly, Desert Peaks doesn't really care for the people living there, nor their workers. Their "leader" isn't doing a good job at steering this ship. Don't put your family on a failing journey full of bedsores and disregard!
