"Tour of Welcoming Assisted Living Facility Reveals Positive Atmosphere"
I toured this assisted living facility and found it to be quite good. It has an older style, but the people there were incredibly nice. During my visit, all the residents were out, smiling, and very friendly and lively. I spoke with a few staff members, who mentioned they enjoy working there. If this facility offered Memory Care services, it would have been my second choice.

"Comfortable Assisted Living with Great Amenities and Caring Staff"
My mom has a lovely room with a patio where she can have her dog. There's even a spot for smokers. Every now and then, she enjoys her tequila. The grounds are really beautiful. Recently, we watched the Bloom Fiesta from her patio, and it was amazing. One thing I wish they had is a "mom chart" like a doctor's chart, so I could see if they bathed her, cleaned her room, or did pest control – just the little things. But they really care about their residents. If there's a positive Covid test, they lock everything down. Everyone who visits has to check in, lockdown or not. The food is fantastic and fresh. For breakfast, she gets things like sausages and eggs. Some evenings, she's even had shrimp for dinner. She gets three meals a day. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone. It's been wonderful for her to get out and meet so many new people. Fairwinds does a pretty good job making sure everyone gets along.

"Rude Manager, Unhappy Residents Plan Exit "
I'll kick things off by noting that we had an impressive tour. The lady was very pleasant and it seemed my grandma would be in good hands. We grabbed a bite in the mess hall. The workers were nice, but the residents gave us insight that they're opting to not renew their lease and they're seeking another place. After lunch, we saw a squabble between a staff member and a resident. The resident was visibly upset, complaining about undone duties in her room. The staff member, instead of understanding her plight, further argued with this elderly woman. I identified this staffer with the front desk lady, and shockingly, it was the general manager, Given this, I’m sure I won't be taking my grandma there. If that's how the general manager publicly treats her charges, I shudder to think about her attitude in private. No wonder some residents are packing up. Considering the hefty price tag, they should at least be treated respectfully and have their needs met promptly.

" "Terrible Food and Incompetent Management in Assisted Living""
They can't seem to hold onto their chef and kitchen crew. They've seen about 4 to 5 new faces over the past year. Guests, including me, have been served food fried in rancid oil. I've had to throw out meals that smelled so bad that I couldn't even identify what it was supposed to be. They use a sort of mashed up chicken and present it as roasted chicken - it even shows up in their soups. The facility's elevator to the third floor has broken down again. It's been out of commission for a week this time, but last time this happened, we were without it for two full months. The woman who used to be the concierge has been promoted to run the entire establishment, despite her lack of any facility management experience.

"I didn't like the set dining hall hours"
I visited this place while searching for a home for my Father-in-law, and it was pleasant. However, we decided against it due to the dining area's fixed hours. If my Father-in-law wanted a meal, he couldn't just grab something whenever—he had to stick to specific meal times. On the bright side, the staff and residents were friendly, and the facility was clean and inviting. They also offered reliable transportation services and a variety of activities. Although we chose a different community, I'd recommend this one to others.

"Basic Amenities, Adequate Safety; Lacks Homey Feel"
The assisted living facility is nice, but it doesn't feel particularly cozy or home-like. It has some good amenities and safety measures in place.

"Nice community, but moving in was difficult!"
Moving in furniture was difficult. Staff is nice, well-maintained community. Some staff remembered my mother from her previous stay. One has been there 16 years.

"Great care, but needs better welcome for new residents"
It was tough at first because she got sick right after moving in. My only issue is that there's no one to give new residents a tour or invite them to the dining room. My mother mostly stays in her room and doesn’t interact with others. Besides that, it’s a really nice place, the food is great, and they’ve taken excellent care of her.

"Adapting to New Community; Overall Positive Experience for Loved One"
My family member is still getting used to the new place. She really likes the food and the stuff they do, but she doesn’t like it when they have to stay inside when someone’s sick. Besides that, I think this place is good for her because it’s big and she can meet more people.

"Our New Home Exceeds Expectations Before We Even Move In"
We’re set to move in on Monday, July 11th. Since we got our unit last month, we’re really happy with the staff and the place. They’ve worked hard to make sure our unit is just how we want it. The dining room team is awesome, and the food is great.

"Mixed Feelings About Fairwinds-Rio Rancho Assisted Living"
Fairwinds-Rio Rancho is a good place, considering the cost. They have tasty food and offer plenty of help for those who need it. The surroundings are pleasant, and they have many extra features. Compared to where I was before, which was also nice but cheaper, I'm starting to regret moving. Money matters because when you pay more, you expect more. However, they do offer a lot for what you pay.

"Exceptional Assistance in a Clean, Friendly Assisted Living Community"
They've been super helpful with me and my wife, really going out of their way to help with our medical needs and coordinate with our doctors. So far, everything's been going great. The place is really clean, and the staff is super nice and always ready to help. We think it's a good deal for what you get. We'd tell anyone looking for a nice place to live to check this one out.

"Fair Winds in Albuquerque is Top-Notch"
I’m moving my 91-year-old mom from Massachusetts to New Mexico, where my wife and I have lived for 8 years after being in L.A. for 20 years. I visited every elderly care facility in the Albuquerque area, and Fair Winds was the only place where I felt comfortable having my mom spend her final years. The facility is wonderful, the location is perfect, and the staff is amazing. I especially want to give a shout-out to Stephanie Gallegos. She has helped me with every part of this tough move and is always quick to respond to emails and calls. She’s even gone out of her way to be available on her days off. Stephanie is a true gem and a joy to work with. If you’re looking for a care facility in the Albuquerque area, I highly recommend checking out Fair Winds. I’m sure my mom will be well taken care of here!

"Great smiles, friendly staff, and a warm atmosphere!"
We’ve toured Fairwinds twice and were really impressed both times. The staff was not only polite but genuinely friendly, and there were lots of smiles from the residents too. The positive energy here is really noticeable. When it was time to choose the best place for our loved one, we all agreed, including Mom! Stephanie Gallegos gave us fantastic tours, always answering our questions with kindness and creating a relaxed environment. We felt like we got honest and detailed answers from someone who really knows Fairwinds. Making decisions like this isn’t easy, but we felt supported and guided throughout the process. We’ve decided that Fairwinds is the right place for us.

"Fairwind Stands Out After First Visit"
We’ve just started looking for a retirement home that can help us when needed. We’ve visited about 8 places in Tucson and Albuquerque. Fairwind seems to be the best we’ve seen so far and felt the best. It’s not new but has been updated and looks nice. The staff was friendly and welcoming during our tour. There are rooms with nice views of the outdoors or a green park-like area, which is a big plus after Tucson. It will be high on our list after we explore other areas. I haven’t checked out the activities in detail, so my rating for that isn’t very helpful.

"Fairwinds: Active Community with Great Food and Views"
My wife and I are 83 and thinking about moving to a retirement community to enjoy our remaining years. We’ve visited almost all the places in Albuquerque, and Fairwinds stands out the most. Every resident we spoke with had great things to say about Fairwinds. People were active and involved in the community. The meals were diverse and tasty, and the dining room staff was excellent. In short, you won’t get bored at Fairwinds. There are lots of activities, and the view of the Rio Grande valley is amazing! If we decide to move, Fairwinds will be our choice.

"Grave Decline in Care Due to New Management"
At first, things seemed great at this assisted living facility. Then, they switched management and the level of care plummeted. Their new nurse didn't give enough attention - one time, he didn't realize for days that a resident had fallen and broken his hip. To make matter worse, the resident had blood on his elbow for several days, indicating that he wasn't being bathed properly. And when we decided to move him out, we saw that there were a lot of empty rooms.

"Wonderful, safe place with caring staff and great services."
My mother has been at Fairwinds for over a year, and we're very happy with the facility, staff, and services. She always tells me how safe she feels. The facility is clean and updated. The staff is wonderful and very kind to the residents. The services provided are excellent; I never worry about my mother’s care, even when I'm out of town. It’s a great place to live. My husband and I have even told our kids that if we ever need assisted living, this would be our choice.

"Convenient Dining and Enjoyable Outings Enhance Fairwinds Assisted Living"
Fairwinds Assisted Living is a great place because they send people who haven't been trained on CPAP machines. My loved one has gone on outings and it's been enjoyable. Fairwinds was one of the first places we visited and I wish we had chosen it right away. I've seen residents move out, but they always come back. One reason for this is the open kitchen at Fairwinds, where you can eat anytime from 7 AM to 6 PM.

"“Activities Shine Amidst Flaws”"
The food isn’t great. Waiting at the restaurant is very slow. The activities are fun, but evenings are quiet – dinner is at 5:30, and people retreat to their rooms. There are outdoor areas. I do my own laundry, but they lost my sheets the first week. Overall, it’s a convenient community near shopping centers and doctors, but the staff isn’t aware of the doctors.

"Great service and no pressure at this clean facility"
The customer service here is excellent, and the facility is very clean. My mother and I visited several times before we decided to sign a contract. The food is tasty and well-presented. We were encouraged to visit the facility as often as we wanted before committing, which allowed us to bring other family members to check it out. Unlike other places, we didn’t feel pressured by the staff through calls or emails. We looked at many facilities before choosing this one, and the lack of pressure here was a big plus. As a caregiver, the last thing you need is more stress.

"Resort-Style Community with Art Program Near Home"
This place looks nice, and it's close to their house. They have lots of activities. Make sure to check the pricing. It's a resort-style community on Riverview in Rio Rancho, and they seem to have a good art program. It's more active and social than the others.
