"Costs Up, Quality Down at Assisted Living"
After you move in, get ready for your monthly bill to go up and the quality of food, care, and how clean it is to go down. My mom’s costs went up by about 30% in just over a year, but the quality isn’t as good as it was.

"Praise for The Chateau: Clean, good food, kind staff. More staff needed."
My parents enjoyed The Chateau in Gardnerville. It's clean, with good food and spacious rooms. The staff was kind, and activities were fun. They could use more staff for Memory Care.

"Mixed Experience at Assisted Living Facility"
I really like the caregivers, but there are some issues. The showers in the studios aren't ADA-compliant, making it hard to fit a shower chair. Maintenance is a big problem—I waited 2 months for light bulbs to be changed, 4 months for a closet door, and 6 months for carpet cleaning. Housekeeping is hit or miss. I'm tired of paying high prices and not getting what I pay for. Top management could be friendlier, but the receptionists are fabulous!

"Limited Communication Challenges Loved Ones"
Expect to connect with your loved one less than half the time. If you're far away, you'll have to rely on prayers for their well-being.

"Stay clear: Facility known for elder abuse and medication errors"
Do not place your loved ones in this facility. It's been accused of elder abuse. A staff member is notorious for making errors with medications and has an unsympathetic demeanor. The establishment urgently requires a thorough check for elder abuse by seniors' services. We had to remove our family member for their safety before it was too late. Steer clear of this place, no matter the expense.

"Nice facility, small memory care; consider larger options for families."
I visited this place because they have a special unit for memory care, which my wife needs. When we got there, I saw that the memory care area was smaller compared to other places, and there wasn't much space for my wife to move around freely. They do offer plenty of things to do, and everyone who works there is friendly. If I took my wife here, I could walk her around the facility if I stayed with her. But when I'm not around, she'd have to stay in the memory care area, which is locked. The facility itself looks nice, and it seemed like a good choice, but it just wasn't big enough. I'd suggest other families check out different places.

"Deposit Trouble at Uncommunicative Assisted Living Facility"
I've decided to stop recommending this place to my prospective clients. My last one was asked for a down payment and was put on a waiting list. Despite repeatedly promising him a spot, they never give him any updates. His health is declining, so he has moved nearer to his family. Yet, he still hasn't got his deposit back. As someone looking after these individuals, I want to ensure they receive only the best care - something this place hasn't provided.

"'Bad staff and depressing atmosphere!'"
I really can't tell anyone to take their loved ones to this place, especially after the walk-through I did for my mom. The folks working there were really mean and acted like they didn't even want to. It honestly made me mad. Plus, the place just felt sad overall. There isn't a single nice thing I can tell anyone about it. I'd never let my mom stay somewhere like this.

"Disappointing Experience at Assisted Living Facility"
My family member stayed here but passed away. Staff friendly, forgettable. No outings to Lake Tahoe as promised. Bad food. Initial tour impressive, move-in disappointing. Management uncaring.

"Disappointing facility with poor management and bland food"
My family member stayed here for a few years before they died. The caregivers and people who served food were nice, but they always changed before I could remember their names (thank goodness they wore name tags!). The facility's website brags about being near Lake Tahoe, a place the residents love, but my relative never went there even once during their stay of over two years! The food was awful, like something from a school cafeteria. I thought the place looked great when we first visited, but it was a big letdown after they moved in. It felt like the managers didn't care at all, and I could never find the Director when I needed to speak with her.

"Affordable Assisted Living with Special Programs"
Great place for assisted living! They offer special programs for Alzheimer's and dementia patients, plus all the amenities you need, at a fraction of the cost of long-term care nursing homes.
