"Assisted Living Review: Not Very Personalized and Ignored Residents"
I visited MorningStar Senior Living of Sparks when I was looking for a place for my family member. It felt too much like a big hotel, not cozy or friendly. The staff at the front desk didn't seem to pay much attention to the residents. Some of them were waiting to ask questions but got ignored.

"Friendly and Happy Assisted Living"
We chose MorningStar of Sparks because the people were super nice, and we liked the place and the staff. Whenever we visit, everyone is friendly and tries to take care of things quickly. The staff seems happy, which is really important. The residents look happy too. I would recommend this place to others.

"Needs encouragement for socializing; otherwise, great facility."
They should motivate residents to socialize; otherwise, it's great.

"Great location, flexible meals, attentive staff, highly recommended"
We chose Morning Star because it's close by and she can eat whenever she wants. They don't have set meal times, which we liked. If your loved one has memory issues, they are very attentive. My loved one is in assisted living and once got out without checking out, but they noticed right away and handled it quickly. I would recommend this place to others.

"Expensive Elder Care, Lazy Staff and Lowest Service Standards"
Lazy care, poor communication. Constant staff changes. I wouldn't suggest this place to anyone. The rent is like making five to six mortgage payments each month for a room the same size as a single-car garage and food that's on par with an elementary school lunch. Clothing and bedding always getting lost in the mix with other residents'. All clothes end up stained. They should've been reported to the health department for keeping a bathroom..., and there wasn't a towel or washcloth in sight. All these 'elder care' places are terrible. They just eat up all your savings. The rates they ask for is just to fulfill their unending greed. They've got you trapped since there's hardly any other choices for older adult care.

"Mom loved her stay here"
My mom stayed here for a week for respite care. She loved it! The staff was great, and everything was super clean. She really enjoyed the food. She played bingo and even won $20, which was the highlight of her week. I would definitely recommend this place.

"Friendly Staff and Fun Activities"
My mother-in-law wasn't always easy to deal with, but the staff here is super friendly and easy to talk to. They encouraged her to join in as many activities as possible. There are lots of things to do every day, like blackjack night and playing volleyball with balloons. They also deliver a list of the day's activities to her room, which I loved. The place is always very clean, which I really appreciated and noticed.

"Right Place"
We toured this community, and we liked it right away. They had an opening, which was perfect timing for us. The staff is super nice and helpful. Mom enjoys the food and has even gained weight. She’s participating in activities and making friends. The community is less than 10 years old, very clean, and well-maintained. It gives me peace of mind knowing she’s well cared for.

"Morningstar: Clean, Spacious, and Friendly with Top Memory Care"
I visited Morningstar with my daughter, sister, and niece, and we were all very happy with it. The place was clean and spacious, and everyone, both staff and residents, was friendly. The memory care was the best I’ve seen, and I’ve seen a lot. We’ll be happy once our dad gets settled in.

"Would've Picked This Place First!!"
I recently visited this place for my dad and I was kind of let down by the staff. It was my top choice out of all the places I checked out for him, but I couldn't reach anyone after our tour. I never got any answers when I called and they always said they'd call me back, but they never did. I was in a real rush, but they didn't seem to have any sort of organization.

"Mom's new place is great! Staff is friendly and accommodating."
My mom just moved into this place, and she’s really liking it! The people who work here are super nice and they’re doing their best to help her out. She’s been enjoying the food they serve and all the fun things they do during the week. We’re happy with how things are going, and we’d totally suggest this place to others!

"Falls Short on Care and Communication"
I believe this place is short on staff. Some workers here seem to really care about doing their jobs properly, but others, not so much. They're not following my mom's necessary treatment plan. She's supposed to get two showers per week. But the aides would just come in, attempt to get her to shower and then just write down that she wouldn’t do it. They ought to know how to manage these situations better. I also don't think they keep me updated sufficiently. I visit my mom frequently, because I care about her deeply.’

"Great care and snacks for my parents!"
We really like the care at this community for my parents. The staff is nice and pays attention to them. Getting into the community was not easy. They could make some small improvements. My parents mostly do things together on their own. They enjoy the afternoon snacks. We would recommend this community for its good care and value to other families.

"Lovely Place! Bright and Welcoming."
Morningstar was really nice when I visited. It matched the facility I chose, but cost a bit more. Unfortunately, they didn't have any extras my mom would use, so we went with a different community.

"Morningstar feels like the right choice for Mom!"
It's hard for me to fully judge since I can't visit myself, but my mom's friends say everything is great. It does seem expensive, but I don't know much about these places, so maybe it's normal. Dottie is very positive and always ready to help or find answers. My mom says the food is good, though she feels they want her to eat too much! (lol) Overall, I think we made a good choice for her.

My mom loves it here, and I'm happy too. It's clean and nice, with friendly staff who help her. She enjoys bingo, ice cream parties, and exercise classes. We checked out other places, but this is the best. So far, everything's been awesome!

"Mixed Experience at Assisted Living"
Housekeeping doesn't always empty the diaper genie, and sometimes it takes a while to change medications. The salesperson who rented the room hasn't talked to the resident since. But everyone else is friendly and helpful.

"Poor Management Decisions at Bonaventure Assisted Living"
I feel the management isn't up to standard. It seems they didn't do a good job. The fact they were selling the facility, without informing anyone, is disappointing. It seems like Bonaventure has sold most of their assisted living facilities and are now essentially out of the business. Overall, I'm pleased with the staff and the place itself. However, from a management perspective, things didn't go as they promised. Since Bonaventure is changing hands, it may become unaffordable for us.
