""Uncommunicative Assisted Living Facility Quandary: Unhygienic and Frustrating""

He communication at this old folks' home is plain frustrating. They didn't even let me know when my husband's room sprung a leak. The ceiling got so bad they had to move my husband and his roommate till they fixed it. And the roommate's mom was told there had been a fire! Poor thing, my hubby was scared and so mixed up. They drilled big holes in the ceiling and didn't breathe a word about how the leak messed up the furniture, bed, and carpet, even though I asked over and over. A load of sheetrock dust piled up where the holes were and they didn't clean it, not even when we left! I took pictures, I swear. The dirt all over everything was a real bummer, especially given we shelled out big time for housekeeping!

"Beautiful facility, caring staff; faces challenges with staff shortages."

The Lodge is beautiful but faces staff shortages affecting responsiveness.

"Memory care unit small but affordable, recent management changes."

This place isn't as big as others I saw, but it's cheaper. They only have 18 to 20 people in the memory care part. When I got there, I saw it's smaller than other places. My wife might not have much space to walk. If I took her here, I could walk her around if I stay with her. But when I'm not there, she'd have to stay in the memory care part. I noticed they changed managers a lot. First, I talked to one manager, then when I called later, they said that person was gone and someone else was in charge. But the other staff and caregivers were nice. I wanted to choose this place because it's closer to our home. I'd tell other families to check it out.

""Decent Facility, Some Initial Issues""

The place seems all right so far. It's a bit too soon to really judge, but the people working there are friendly and it's kept tidy. We ran into some issues at first, but they're sorted out now.

"Very friendly, excellent, and wheelchair-accessible setup."

The most important thing for us was the friendly atmosphere, but the layout also stood out compared to the five other places we saw. This place has a walk-in shower in the hallway, wide hallways, and the kitchen and bathroom are wheelchair accessible. They're on the same floor as the dining room, making it easy to get around. It's really comfortable for them. So far, the experience has been great, and we're so happy we found The Lodge.

"Avoid this Facility: Horrible Care and Lack of Attention"

Our time spent at this place was absolutely awful. Our family member was just there for 21 days, and during this short period, she fell over five times and had a sickness that was barely noticed. The staff came across as nice at first, but the care they provided was beyond terrible. We relocated our family member and we'd advise everyone to avoid this place.

"Mixed Experience: Friendly Staff, Subpar Dining. Mom Happy, Food Disappoints."

The place is mostly fine, but the dining isn't great. The staff is nice and welcoming. However, the food is like what you'd get in a high school cafeteria. It doesn't feel very professional or clean. They clean the seats with the same towel they use for the table, and they serve cookies and bread without plates. I think they should be more professional and keep things cleaner. I also wonder about the nutrition of the food. Have you tried the salad or the quesadilla? They're not very good. But overall, my mom is pretty happy here. They just need to improve the food to keep her here.

"Needs Improvement: Dining and Cleanliness at Assisted Living Facility"

The place is pretty much what I was hoping for, except when it comes to meals. The staff members are really friendly and make you feel welcome. But, the food reminds me of what you'd find in a high school lunchroom. It also seems like they're not being super professional or clean when it comes to meals. They wipe down the chairs and tables with the same rag and just put cookies and bread directly on the table without a plate. I was hoping for a bit more attention to detail and cleanliness. I also question whether the food is nutritious. The salad and quesadilla were pretty forgettable. My mom is happy here for the most part, but they need to step up their game with the food if they want to keep her here.

"Beautiful but Challenging Location"

It looked nice and beautiful, but the location felt busy with a casino nearby. The lack of shuttle service made it challenging for doctor appointments. Ultimately, it wasn't the right fit for us.

"Welcoming atmosphere, but found better fit elsewhere."

Visited Meridian of Riverside, nice place, friendly staff, but found better fit.

"Lack of Follow-Up Left Them Out"

They were fine. I checked them out, but they never got back to me or anything. Because of that, they were left out since they didn't follow up with me.
