"Welcoming and Supportive Assisted Living with Many Amenities"
Transitioning a parent to a facility can be unexpected. It's a bit like exploring something new and there might be bumps along the way. Overall, Atria has a lot to offer: caring doctors who help find the best care for your loved ones; a kitchen staff that tries to meet your needs; and staff who keep your loved ones busy with activities. They have a library, a theater, an outdoor patio, a piano, a place to pray, yoga... all in a safe, quiet neighborhood.

"Positive Experience at Atria Kew Gardens Assisted Living"
After touring Atria Kew Gardens, my mom tried a 30-day stay. We were surprised since she wanted to cook and live in another NYC borough. Two weeks into her stay, she chose to stay long-term. Her decision amazed us! Mom describes the facility as "nice," "comfortable," and "a little expensive." Staff interactions have been friendly and accommodating to our needs. Mom rates the facility, noting she doesn't give perfect scores because she believes there's always room for improvement.

"Trial Basis Concerns at Assisted Living Facility"
They suggested a 30-day trial for my loved one. I didn't like that idea—moving her in and then possibly moving her out if they didn't think she fit. Not pleased.

"Review: "Mixed Experience at Assisted Living Community""
I chose this community because of its friendly atmosphere, good services, and food. However, they overcharged me, and my loved one wasn't there for a few months. They should improve honesty and transparency.

"Atria Kew Gardens: A Mostly Positive Experience"
We had a mostly good experience moving in, although it could have been smoother. Overall, we’d recommend Atria Kew Gardens.

"Assisted Living Falls Short of Expectations"
The place wasn't as neat or tidy as I hoped. The memory care area was good, but they provided more help than my family member required. They serve Kosher meals for everyone.

"Helpful staff, good care, and activities returning after pandemic challenges."
This community had a tough time during the pandemic, but they were really helpful with families. The boss lady returned our calls and emails quickly. She was very professional, which we liked a lot. Most of the staff members and care services have been great. The activities are starting up again, and they're getting our loved one out and about, which is great. It's a smaller place, so it's good for people with memory problems. Our loved one has been doing great here. We've had pretty good access to management, especially during the first couple of weeks. The head of memory care would call our family regularly with updates about our loved one.

"Dismal Management Hampers Quality Care at Assisted Living Facility"
Management at this assisted living facility is seriously flawed. The residents of atria demand and deserve quality service, especially in the dining area. Unfortunately, management seems blind to the fact that some staff have serious attitude problems. It's such a shame there are no cameras in the dining area that would allow families to see how their loved ones are sometimes treated. What's more, it's shocking that the management is reducing hours for the good, efficient servers and increasing hours for the bad ones. I'm not sure why they would choose to keep workers who yell at residents. It's as if they've forgotten they're working at an assisted living facility, not a prison. It feels like someone has to play detective to figure out who's in charge. The solution is simple - keep the good workers and reduce the hours of the bad ones, allocating them to those who do a good job. But it seems like they are not only turn a blind eye, but also make poor judgments. It's time to clear the vision. Here are the good workers: [names removed] Now let's see if the problem isn't just blindness but deafness too. Being blind is bad enough, but it's even worse when management is blind and deaf. It's absolutely absurd! Are they not hearing the repeated complaints, or could they also be experiencing some form of dementia? It's very disheartening.

"Spacious Facility with Great Amenities, Memory Care Costly"
The staff and facilities were wonderful. This Atria is quite big and feels less friendly compared to other places I've been to. Having a Memory Care section was good, but it's too expensive.

"Opt for a Top-Rated Senior Living Facility"
I strongly advise against choosing Atria Kew Gardens for your loved one or loved ones. For your information, I myself live at Atria Kew Gardens and I have been forced to call 311 about non-emergency police matters approximately 6 times a week. It's true, the police have tried to make things right, but the head person in charge here, the executive director, does absolutely nothing. It's like she's forgotten that us older folks need to catch our sleep at night. Take it from me, do yourselves a favor. Look for something better.

"Caring Staff"
My family member is finding it a bit hard to adjust to Atria Kew Gardens. The place isn’t too crowded, and the residents seem happy. The staff is friendly and takes good care of everyone. The environment is clean, and my loved one has a spacious room with her own bathroom. They’re really trying to make her comfortable. Communication about her needs is excellent. There’s always enough food for everyone. While there are activities, I think they could offer more for those in memory care. The outdoor areas are nice for sitting and enjoying fresh air. Overall, we feel our loved one is safe and secure here.

"Welcoming Community with Great Amenities"
I went on a tour of this place, and it was awesome! The people there were really nice to my family member and me. The building layout was easy for my family member to get around, and there were lots of cool things for everyone who lives there. The only downside was that it wasn't in the right location for us.

"Consider for a loved one"
I visited this place. It was tidy. The staff was friendly and helped with my questions. The outside area was pleasant. There were many people in wheelchairs, which my sister wouldn't like. They had a good variety of food. They also had fun things to do. Families should check it out to see if it fits their needs. It was a good deal.

"Avoid Atria Kew Gardens: Lacks Care, Broken AC, No BINGO."
The team at Atria Kew Gardens doesn't seem to genuinely care about its residents. Changes to events happen without any heads up, much to everyone's dismay. BINGO, a favorite amongst the seniors, is often replaced with promises of "better" programs, but the seniors aren't interested. They miss their BINGO. There's also a noticeable push for residents to say good things about the staff and to participate in programs that seem to promote certain political views. When my mom came back after a surgery, the director paid a visit to her room because the AC had been broken for a while. But she didn't even acknowledge my mom or ask how she was doing. What's worse? The AC still isn't fixed. And the least impressive part is the social worker who's chummy with all the staff but can't remember the residents' names. These are just some of the issues here. The only person who truly seems to care is the rabbi. If your parent is dear to you, this is not the place for them!

"Poor Parking and Unreliable Transportation at Assisted Living Facility"
This spot lacked parking at all. Despite claims of having a car service, I don't see my mom getting chauffeured around 85% of the time. Others also need to park their cars. It just isn't realistic. We didn't end up choosing it.

"Great Services but High Cost"
This is one of the few memory care places I found. I was worried about my mom adjusting to a new environment. The facility is clean, offers activities, and provides services I couldn’t manage at home, even with a home health aide. My only worry, and this isn't just about Atria, is the high cost. The services are good—three meals, snacks, secure exits, laundry, and different levels of help depending on the resident’s needs—but it’s very expensive. I checked cheaper places, about half the cost, and they didn’t offer these services. So, you can spend a lot to keep your loved one in a safe, clean place or spend less and worry constantly about their care.

"Satisfactory Assisted Living Experience"
The place seems pretty good. Staff are nice. No visitor parking. Food is okay, mom likes it but dad finds it plain. Noticed many are Jewish, even have a Rabbi. Didn't see any signs of Christianity.

"Assisted living lacks engaging activities, but staff is caring."
My dad stayed in the section for people with serious memory problems. He got good care and respect in a nice place. Life gets dull for those with dementia, and Atria Kew Gardens could make it more interesting. They didn’t try hard to plan things for them to do. Many residents just sat around most of the time. They said they’d take them on van rides now and then, but I don’t think they did that more than once during my dad's 15 months there. Like everywhere else, keeping track of laundry was also a problem.

"Mixed Feelings About Assisted Living Facility"
My mom moved in around 6 weeks ago. I'm mostly happy with how things are going. The place is clean, and the caregivers seem to know what they're doing and care about the residents. But you can tell they're pretty busy and stressed out sometimes. The people who work in the dining room could be friendlier, though. There are more activities here than where my mom used to live in Florida, which is nice. But my mom's feeling down, so she doesn't enjoy everything as much as she could. But that's not really the facility's fault.

"Good Care, Parking Woes"
I thought this place was pretty nice, and I trusted they'd take good care of my mom. The not-so-good parts were it being hard to find parking for people coming to visit, and they didn't have church services right there.
