"Atria Park of Great Neck: Limited Medical Care, Extra Aides Needed"
In my experience with Atria Park of Great Neck, I was disappointed because they claimed they could handle all medical needs, but that wasn't accurate. I had to hire extra aides to ensure my mom's needs were met.

"Mixed Feelings About Atria Park Assisted Living Facility"
Atria Park was really big and busy. It didn't feel cozy like home, more like a hospital. Parking was a pain; I got a spot in their tiny lot, but they said the cops were tough on street parking. On the plus side, they did give me a tasty homemade apple crumb pie!

"Communication Issues Impact Assisted Living Experience"
Staff friendliness varies (1-5), and overall cleanliness is good. However, communication issues between staff, families, and outside providers cause problems. Nursing staff lacks follow-through and feedback. Billing errors are frustrating.

"Assisted Living Review"
My family member's comfy, but the guy we talked to stretched the truth about care and food here. Rent's up, but they're happy and gaining weight. Staff's nice.

"Mixed Experience at Assisted Living Facility"
The people are nice, but they need more staff. The place looks nice and the staff are helpful. But because there aren't enough staff, it takes a long time for them to respond when we need help. We've told the managers about this many times. Some days they come within 15 minutes, but other days they don't. Because of these problems, I can't recommend this place right now.

"Better Communication Needed Between Staff and Families"
I believe the workers could improve on making families feel like they're part of the team, not on separate sides.

"Lots of activities and great medical care"
They have lots of activities to keep everyone involved. I recommended this community to a friend because it is lovely. I talked to residents who have been here longer, and they are all happy. They have everything you could want, and I like the medical care. This community just went through renovation and looks much newer.

"Mixed Satisfaction at Assisted Living Facility"
My loved one is really happy living there, and that's what matters most. However, she's not pleased with the food, which is something she's been complaining about.

"Communication Issues Impact Rating"
The assisted living place is great value for money, especially the memory care unit. But they lose a star due to communication issues. Our loved one has dementia, so we agreed not to have a phone in their room. When we need to reach them, the staff is supposed to bring the phone. Unfortunately, sometimes the nurses don’t answer when we call during the specified time, or they promise to call back but never do.

"Inconsistent Management and Staffing Affect Overall Experience"
The activities mentioned were before COVID. I'd tell my friends they overpromise and underdeliver. Lots of turnover in management: 3 case managers, 2 nursing heads, and 2 executive directors in 10 months. Only salesperson and head of dining remain consistent. Food was generally good for my loved one, but sometimes cold or wrong, likely due to staffing issues. Staff occasionally took my loved one to appointments, but medication list was often illegible for doctors.

"Clean, caring, but costly."
The Atria Great Neck is the top pick for my Uncle. It's tidy and the workers are amazing. There were some hiccups in sorting out his medical needs, but he's secure, cozy, and well looked after. The best part is, he's adjusted to his new place fast and seems "happy." However, it's pretty pricey, and there are extra expenses that quickly pile up.

"Fix Needed: More Workers and Better Care!"
This place really needs to up its game. They just don't have enough staff, and because of that, the people living here get pretty poor care. My mom often had to wait a long time for the workers to help her out, and she'd end up eating cold food because there weren't enough people to serve it. I've talked to the bosses about this loads of times, but nothing ever changes.

"Friendly staff and nice dining, but welcoming could improve"
At Atria Great Neck, I really like the dining room and menu. The staff in the dining room and health center are very friendly. My only issue was that the welcome wasn't very personal. They didn’t check on him enough or involve him in activities at first. Other than that, it's a nice place.

"Clean, friendly, but chose elsewhere. Would've considered for loved one."
I checked out this place when I was searching for care for my family member. The place looked really nice and clean, and all the people who worked there were nice and acted professional. We decided to go with another place, but this one was on our list.

"Great Assisted Living Facility with Excellent Food Service!"
I believe the activities could be improved. I understand that most residents are older and might feel bored, but they have to plan activities. The food service and dining are excellent. Overall, I think the place is great, and it’s managed very well.

"Facility Misrepresents the Level of Care Provided"
At first glance, this place appears great. It's visually pleasant and some folks here are nice. However, the majority - about 85%, of the staff aren't. This facility is built for people who can handle their own needs mainly because they merely provide you with a room. It's basically a nightmare. This space isn’t what they advertise it to be. It's simply not the place for people requiring real assistance. It's a constant struggle to get anything you need and you have to keep nudging them for it.

"Nurse Too Harsh for Assisted Living Center"
My mom needed more help than the assisted living center offered. She was only there for one short month. The people who organized activities and provided meals were awesome. But the chief nurse was too harsh and not right for taking care of older folks.

"A Nice Active Community"
I didn’t consider this place at first because it’s ‘assisted living,’ and I wanted something more lively for my Dad. But now I wish I had checked it out sooner. The residents here seem much more active than the ‘independent living’ location he’s in now, where everyone has full-time aides. Although it’s a smaller community and the building is older, overall, the residents are more alert and engaged. Dad wasn’t a fan of how crowded it felt, but the staff explained that it’s designed that way to encourage socializing.

"Only Two Small Elevators, One Broken"
This place only got two tiny elevators. When I came over, one of them was out of order, which left just one working. But hey, some folks didn't mind and chose the stairs. So maybe it's a good thing, since they're getting some workout.

"Amazing Care and Staff!"
We're so happy with Atria Great Neck. It's a fantastic place! It helped our relative get back to how he was months ago. The care is amazing. I know he's getting healthier. He's safe, well-fed, his medications are managed, and the people are great.

"Mom Forced Out When Extra Care Needed"
Atria was okay, but when my mom needed extra help, they told us she had to go. They were very sudden and didn't seem to care much. I think they didn't care as much at the end as they did when they wanted her to come.
