"A Thoughtful Assisted Living Experience"
The staff here are mostly friendly and caring. Housekeeping is a bit hit-or-miss—I’ve noticed my mom’s bathroom isn’t always clean. They should change the bathroom wastebaskets more often to avoid that urine smell from incontinence products. I plan to bring one with a lid to help. As for memory care, they could do better at reminding residents to drink water and soda. Overall, it’s a clean and safe place. The staff know everyone’s names and preferences. I’d recommend it, but they definitely need more staff. Burnout is a real concern. Peregrine Shaker is doing well given the circumstances.

"Compassionate Care and Convenience"
The rooms and staff are pleasant. They promptly address any problems. I chose this community because it’s close to my home, and the staff is exceptionally helpful and understanding given my mom’s situation.

"Outdated Appearance Deters Choice"
I visited Peregrine Shaker and thought it looked really old and worn out. That's why we didn't pick them.

"Inadequate Care at Assisted Living Leads to Mother's Decline"
My Mom went to this community right after Thanksgiving last year. They say they're a memory care place, but I don't think they have what it takes. Mom had Alzheimer's and we wanted somewhere she would feel safe. But, this place didn't do much except letting her wander in the halls. They just put food in front of her and didn't help or encourage her to eat. She went to the hospital on Christmas eve and stayed in for 10 days. That was when things started going downhill. We moved her in January, but she didn't get better and died. She was pretty healthy before all this. This place shouldn't call themselves a memory care place, it's just a trick to get more money. I wouldn't tell anyone to take their loved ones who need memory care here. The people who worked in the kitchen and caregivers were nice, but they just weren't ready for this kind of work. It was a really awful experience.

"Room Size and Condition Didn't Meet Expectations"
I really liked the people who work there, and it looks just like another place I visited. But the room they showed us was smaller and not as nice as we hoped for our family member.

"Improved Community with Caring Staff and Better Meals"
This community is pretty good, better than others I've heard about. The staff has been nice to our family and the people who live here. They have a new chef, and the food is getting better with more kinds to choose from.
