"Caution Advised: Assisted Living Facility Review"
These places aren't perfect. When they promise something, get it written down. Sometimes they forget things like showers or meds. I'd suggest them, but be sure to ask and ask again. No place is perfect. It's tough when a loved one goes from independence to relying on others.

"Good Facility with Great Staff and Average Food"
My family member lives at Brookdale East Side, and I would suggest it to others. The food is average, but the cleaning service is good. The staff is great and always attentive.

"Great staff, activities, and care for mom. Highly recommend!"
The Best! My mom has been at Brookdale East for 5 weeks, and I’m so happy with it. The staff is confident and caring, always taking time to answer my questions as we get used to things. Her memory isn’t always perfect, but they are so patient and kind with her, which I really appreciate. There are lots of activities, and she’s always included. They even have a hairdresser, a podiatrist who visits monthly, and now someone for her nails. She seems really happy and content, so I feel good about choosing this place. Thank you to the Brookdale East staff for your kindness and care.

"Great care, welcoming environment, minor hearing aid issue resolved quickly."
My 90-year-old mother, who swore she’d never leave home, really loves East Side. Even though she has short-term memory issues, she tells us every day how much she loves her room and the friendly people at dinner. She’s been living there for almost a year now. They keep her busy with exercises, yoga, brain games, music programs, lectures, outings, and more. The building is welcoming for both residents and visitors. She can have bird feeders outside her window in the lovely courtyard, and all rooms are on the ground level. The lobby is always lively with people chatting or participating in activities. The grounds are wooded and quiet, even though East Side is right off Route 5 and easy to get to. The staff is very attentive to her care, though there were a few small issues with her hearing aids. I didn’t give a full 5-star rating because of this, but I met with the supervising staff who quickly resolved the issues with the aides. I wanted to be completely honest. My sisters and, most importantly, our mother really love East Side!

"Welcoming Assisted Living with Abundant Amenities"
I had a great tour at this community. The facility was well-maintained, with plenty of amenities for residents. The large dining room comfortably accommodated everyone, and there were spacious common areas for families to enjoy.

"Friendly staff but felt too much like a nursing home"
The staff here were really friendly and helpful. However, we didn’t think this place was right for mom. She didn’t need full-time care, and the environment felt too much like a nursing home.

My aunt is doing great at this community. It fits her needs well. The staff is good—responsive and helpful. The place is nice, clean, and well-kept. I’m confident she’s getting great care. I’d recommend this community; it’s been a good experience for us.

"Caring staff, happy mom, great care, relieved family."
The staff at Brookdale are really caring and helpful. My mom was nervous about moving to assisted living, but she loved it within hours. When I visited two days later, she was so happy after years of loneliness. My mom can be difficult, but the staff enjoy her and care for her wonderfully. She has a lovely room and takes part in activities. Kim, the director, is great to work with. My mom spent three years paying for companions at home, but their care was terrible. I’m grateful to Kim, Lynne, Melissa, and special aide Alice. I no longer worry about my mom at Brookdale and feel relieved knowing she’s getting excellent care.
