"Good location and friendly staff, but slow and expensive"
Brookdale Niagara was picked because it's in a good spot, the staff is friendly, and it’s clean. However, we find that they can be slow to address medical problems and it’s hard to get clear answers. It is also quite pricey.

"Mom needs more care, falls, unappetizing food, lacks participation in activities"
My mom needed more help than Brookdale could give. She fell a couple of times there. The food wasn't tasty even though she had to eat a special diet. They had a lot of things to do, but my mom didn't join in.

"Poor Experience with Brookdale Assisted Living Facility"
We visited the place and thought it was perfect - nice, big rooms, nearby. People said good things about Brookdale. Our experience was different though. My dad stayed there for three months and he was always unhappy and bored. The workers seemed stressed out all the time. They didn't give him the services we paid for. The registered nurse left and they didn't hire a new one. Even though they say they offer extra care, they couldn't for my dad when he needed it. In the end, we had to find a different place. I wouldn't tell anyone to go to this place.

"Disappointing Assisted Living Experience"
My 101-year-old uncle stayed at the assisted living facility for 3 months. The initial sales pitch made us hopeful, but unfortunately, the care was subpar, and activities were scarce. We had to repeatedly request services that should have been included. He felt unhappy throughout his stay, with nothing to do at night except going to bed early. Most residents stayed in their rooms. Eventually, he had to go to the VA due to heart failure, where he received better care. Despite his contract, Brookedale wouldn’t take him back. He spent his last days at Elderwood in Grand Island, where they showed compassion. Brookedale never reached out. I wouldn’t recommend this place.

"Friendly Staff and Improved Care at Assisted Living Facility"
It started with some miscommunication and lack of knowledge about what my loved one needed. I was paying for enhanced assisted living, but they couldn’t help my loved one at first. Some staff lacked training. That was early on, but now things are much better. The staff is friendly. Although there is sometimes a shortage of staff, I feel like everyone is trying to make it work. They are always willing to help and have been wonderful. My loved one is safe there. I have no negative things to say about the place.

"Good Care but Needs Better Communication"
We picked Brookdale because the marketing lady was great. There's a lot of staff turnover. Communication could be better; you have to call many times to get a response and it's hard to get answers. They've been good about having Zoom meetings since we can't go inside. They take great care of her and have lots of activities. I haven't been inside because of COVID, so my feedback is from my mom and talking to the staff. My mom is very happy here, has made lots of friends, and I know she's safe.

"Balancing Acts: Assisted Living Pros and Cons"
They're doing their best with activities, like bingo nights. Fair value; we'd recommend it. But there's a disconnect due to short staff—we can't visit in the evenings.

"Peace of mind for families"
Brookdale Niagara Assisted/Enhanced Assisted Living offers amazing care. We looked at all our options in Niagara County, and nothing compares to this place. During our visit, I discovered that they are the only facility in the county with Enhanced Assisted Living care. They have been providing loving care for families here for 18 years. I feel so relieved knowing my mom won't have to move if her care needs change. I learned that Enhanced Assisted Living is different from traditional assisted living. My mom has trouble getting out of her chair on her own and has incontinence issues. These common problems would usually mean she would have to leave a regular assisted living facility. I’m so glad I did my research and chose the best option for her. The nearby memory care unit is a huge advantage because it means my mom can work on getting stronger, while my dad receives the specialized memory care he needs. They see each other every day, but my mom also gets some time to herself, knowing that my dad is getting excellent care. I can’t thank them enough for their kind care. It’s a beautiful place and brings a sense of peace. Always choose the best for your parents. The cost is very reasonable and worth every penny.

"Didn't Suit Our Needs"
I visited Brookdale Niagara hoping to find a new home for my family members. The place is pretty nice, they offer meals and folks get care 24/7. But, my loved ones need different amounts of care, so they wouldn't be able to be with each other. This wasn't the best choice for us.

"Tender and Comprehensive Care"
The care here is the best and so kind. We did a lot of research before bringing our dad here, and it was the right choice. We are so thankful. Our family can finally relax. Thank you for taking such good care of our dad. He loves it here, and we all feel very welcome. Great communication, meals, activities, and a beautiful place.

"Safe, Clean, Convenient: Recommendable Assisted Living with Minor Hiccups"
My mom's doing well in this place. Things are mostly good. She's safe and taken care of. The only issue is that the people who run the place could be more organized. But the folks who help her out are nice and do their job well. They keep things clean, and she likes the food. It's easy for us to get to, too. Overall, it's a good place.

"Happy Repeat Family"
This is the only place I would ever consider for my mom. Brookdale Niagara (it used to be Sterling House Niagara when our Aunt was here) took great care of our Aunt, and now my Mom loves it here too. Her suite is amazing with two big windows, a kitchenette, a walk-in closet that's bigger than mine, and a huge walk-in shower. I forgot that some rooms have even bigger living rooms. Many of the staff have been here for years, which shows their commitment to the residents. We already know how kind the staff is to everyone living here. The food is exceptional, and we've all had a chance to eat lunch with Mom. We feel like Mom gets so much special attention. She seems happy, safe, and important again. This is exactly what we hoped for. Thank you to APFM for pointing us in this direction years ago.

"Happy Mom and Satisfied Family"
We came to Brookdale Niagara because of their Enhanced Assisted Living. Our elder law attorney and geriatric care manager both recommended this place. When we visited and met with the admissions director, the staff was really friendly, and everything felt right. The residents were happy to share how great the place is. We decided to move in about five minutes into the tour. Everything seemed genuine and wonderful. Mom was on a short waiting list for a couple of weeks and has been very happy living at Brookdale Niagara since then.

"Cozy, clean, and friendly Brookdale Niagara stands out!"
We stopped by without planning, and the staff were so nice. The managers and caregivers introduced themselves while we toured the place. The residents looked happy and well taken care of. The facility was incredibly clean. I was really impressed by how tidy and cozy it was. It’s small, which we loved there are 45 suites. We looked at a patio apartment that had a kitchenette, a good-sized living room, a walk-in closet, one bedroom, and a nice private patio. We’ve visited ten places, and Brookdale Niagara is the best one we’ve seen.

"Perfect Choice for Assisted Living"
This place is perfect. I see now why three friends suggested Brookdale Niagara. They have something special here. We’re really happy with our visit and can’t wait for my dad to be here soon. They have a short waitlist.

"Brookdale Niagara for Mom"
We visited Brookdale Niagara's Enhanced Assisted Living and Memory Care. We weren't sure which option was best for our mom, but both places were super clean, friendly, warm, and nicely decorated. We met with [Removed], the marketing director, who kindly showed us around. The staff in both communities made us feel welcome. There was a fun event happening in the gallery where we saw residents and staff enjoying themselves with music and laughter. It made me smile. We think we've found the perfect place for our mom.

"A Gem. Perfect for Mom."
The Enhanced Assisted Living Community is amazing. Everyone knows they provide exceptional care. The campus has both Enhanced Assisted Living and a Memory Community next door. The residents look happy and involved. It’s a friendly one-floor environment. The outdoor grounds feel like a beautiful park. Such a lovely community.

""Not Top-Notch: Room Small and Building Lacked Cleanliness""
My tour here wasn't that great. The room they showed me didn't look that good and it seemed really small. I think they should work on making the place cleaner so there's no bad smell throughout the building.

"The Cost of Living at Brookdale of Niagara"
The cost to live in the assisted living area is high—around $7,000 a month—if your parent has memory loss. The activities and services for assisted living residents are different from those at the senior retirement house nearby. The staff is friendly, but the cost is too much for most people. Brookdale doesn't accept Medicaid; it's a place for high-income individuals. It's a for-profit housing unit.

"Comfortable and Happy: Mom's New Home Exceeds Expectations"
My mom's care and where she lives are really important to me. Finally, I found a place where she's happy and comfy. It's a nice community, and the staff is good. They listen to my worries. Mom's made some new friends and enjoys the food. Everything's going well, and I'd suggest this place to others.

"Best choice for care, clean and friendly community"
Brookdale Niagara Memory Care is the only place I trust for my dad's care. We checked out many other places around Erie County, Clarence, Williamsville, and Niagara County. This place is clean and nicely decorated. The cost is reasonable. The caregivers are friendly and introduced themselves, which made us feel comfortable. The facility has an excellent reputation for care. We’re finally sleeping well at night, knowing we made the best choice.

"Excellent care and attention at this wonderful assisted living facility"
We've been really happy with this place. Everything has gone great, and I couldn’t imagine it being any better. They really pay attention to the residents. From the moment we walked in, I knew this was the right place and felt confident leaving her here. During our visit, the woman in the open, clean kitchen with a lovely dining room was very friendly. There was a mix-up about who was supposed to show us around, but they handled it very well. Everyone, from the head of maintenance to the kitchen staff, made sure we were well taken care of, and the kitchen woman was amazing. They offered more help than other places did. Overall, my experience was really positive.

"Great place, a bit far for shopping and doctors"
Awesome place to live! It's a bit far from shopping and doctors, but the care is really good. The facility is small and I didn’t try the food, but the staff is super friendly. The price is a bit high and the rooms are small.

"Small, Bright Facility with Friendly Atmosphere and Country Setting"
This place has one floor plan and is pretty small, but it's bright with lots of windows. It's set in a nice country area. There’s one very small bedroom available. The director knows all the residents, and people enjoy playing cards. Everyone seems alert and happy.
