"Avoid for Seniors: Confrontational Staff, Unhelpful Attitude"
The head person in charge was mean, bossy, and not nice. She made it hard to get along. If you asked anything, she got mad. Not good for seniors who need some help.

"Mixed Experience at Elderwood Village"
The rules at Elderwood Village in Vestal feel random and confusing. Plus, the meals aren’t always great.

"Highly recommend Elderwood despite brief stay and unfortunate fall"
My dad was at Elderwood for only 2 weeks. He had a bad fall and now lives with me. Even though we were sad to see him go, I highly recommend Elderwood.

"Great care and a welcoming environment"
We really liked the care we got at this place. The staff were helpful, and the atmosphere was great for her. The menu looked good, and her room was beautiful. This community provides excellent care, and other families might want to think about it for their loved ones.

"Friendly Tour of Big, Lacking Place; Not Right for Mom"
My visit to this place was pretty okay. The person showing me around was really nice. This place is bigger than others. It seemed too big and maybe too much for my mom. When I learned about what they offer, I realized they didn't have everything my mom needs. This place is also not totally safe, and I didn't like that. It's a neat place overall, but not right for us.

"Cozy Assisted Living with Caring Staff"
This assisted living facility, located in a quiet area with 60 units all on the ground floor, features a spacious dining area. The rooms are simple, with a shared shower next door but a private bathroom. The people here are friendly and appear to be caring. Although the building was constructed in 1974, the rooms receive periodic updates. In terms of cost, it falls somewhere in the middle compared to other assisted living options in the Binghamton area. Overall, our first impression is positive.

"Assisted Living: Friendly Staff, Dark Hallways, Clean Environment"
The workers were nice and knew their stuff. My mother-in-law didn’t enjoy it because it seemed gloomy, and she found the hallways confusing. However, it looked clean overall.

"Great care and communication, even though they are new"
They are doing a great job. They call me often to keep me updated on how my mom is doing and improving. Even though they are new, they provide great care and have been very accommodating.

"Clean, friendly, with great food and activities. Highly recommended!"
The place is very clean, and the staff is super friendly. They offer lots of activities to do, and the food is really good. My parents are both living here, and they could accommodate them as a couple, unlike some other places that only had single rooms. Everything has been great, and I have no complaints. I highly recommend it!

"Helpful staff and convenient amenities make Emeritus House a choice."
The lady who helped my friend when we first called the staff was super nice and did more than what she had to. I like how the place is set up because it's easy for my friend to move around. It's also in a good spot, making it easy to go shopping or out to eat. I'm glad there's a church nearby too, just a short walk away. And if my friend can't make it, they have a service right here on Sundays. It took my friend a bit to get used to her new home, but now she's happy, and I can chill knowing she's taken care of.

"Clean, Friendly, and Spacious Assisted Living Facility"
Visited on 7/29/13. Met with Laurie Schneider, Community Relations Director. The whole place was super clean and tidy. Residents could go outside to sit or walk in the front area. I saw residents having dinner; the food looked really good and everyone was very friendly. Pets are allowed, but there were no dogs at the time. I was very impressed with the room sizes (even the smallest single room was bigger than the one at Emeritus at Woodland Place). Shared showers were totally fine. Lots of storage and closet space. I loved that residents could have their own furniture in their rooms; it makes them feel more at home. I also liked the layout with common areas in the middle and living 'villages' in the corners. Overall, I was very impressed!
