"Great location, friendly staff, and fun environment for Mom"
We chose this place for its location, the facility, the staff, and their approach, not always in that order. They also made my mom feel very comfortable and excited about having fun. I would recommend it to others.

"Clean Facility with Great Food and Personal Touches for Mom"
We were really impressed with this facility because it's so clean and the food is great Mom really enjoys it! She also loves the physical therapy team; they are very helpful. Even though Mom isn’t very active or involved in the facility’s activities, they still offer them to her. She could use more help with making her bed, but she does get some. Mom really likes having her own private bath and shower. One special thing that made her day was her birthday celebration with a corsage, a balloon on her wheelchair, and cake and ice cream. Mom understands she can’t live alone anymore, and while she’s still getting used to it, she feels she’s in the best place. Having some of her own belongings in her room helps a lot. I’d definitely recommend this facility to friends and family.

"Add TV or Internet for Better Experience"
Our family rented the Country Kitchen on the 3rd floor this past Sunday, Nov. 6th. We wanted to hook up a TV to watch the Bills football game but couldn’t connect to the internet to stream the game through a Roku. For the convenience of your resident guests, we suggest adding a Spectrum Cable line to the room or allowing internet connection to stream Spectrum basic TV services.

"Lack of Care and Respect: Disappointing Experience at Assisted Living"
My mother-in-law stayed here for almost 3 years. We thought she was cared for and loved. The common areas seemed clean, and the dining staff was friendly. But, we found issues. Her medicines were left unattended, even narcotics, which was dangerous. When I looked under her recliner, I found many pills scattered. This showed neglect in medication management and cleaning. There were other problems too. They once gave her the wrong medicine, magazines went missing, and a van service mix-up left her stranded. But the worst was when she passed away. No one from the facility acknowledged it. This made it clear she was just a paycheck to them.

"Elderwood Mismanagement Leads to Poor Elderly Care and Insensitivity"
My mother in law stayed at Elderwood for almost three years. During her time there, they lost her laundry, didn't clean her apartment thoroughly, and misplaced or stole her magazines. They even gave her the wrong pills a couple of times, although they did confess their mistakes. The worst part was, the nurses never made sure she swallowed her medication correctly. When I visited, I found many dropped pills hiding under her recliner. The absolute heartbreak was that no one from Elderwood attended her funeral, sent a card, or even made a simple phone call to offer their sympathy. They saw her only as a source of money, which makes me bitter. The management promised one rent price, but kept increasing it, knowing she can't leave. I would warn against choosing this place for your parents, and if you do, visit as much as you can and stay alert.

"Fast Move-In, Great Care for Mom"
The assisted living facility called me as soon as a room was available, so my mom moved in right away. Everything is going well for her now. The move was a bit slow at first, but now she enjoys playing bingo and other activities. The staff are really attentive to both the residents and my mom's needs. It’s great that everyone eats their meals in the dining room together. This place has really given us a break by taking good care of our mom.

"Great Location, Pleasant Experience"
The place looks really nice, like super pretty. The food was just okay, not too special. But the people who work there and take care of you in the assisted living part were really nice. That part of the place was really good, and it's in a really good spot, like right in the middle of Hamburg Village. Overall, it was a really good experience, very enjoyable.

"Mom's happy at Elderwood, just wish food was better"
Mom is already making Elderwood her home, something we didn't expect right away. The staff was very helpful in making the move smooth. They kept us informed about everything. They explained Veterans' benefits and made sure there was a plan. There are lots of activities and my mom enjoys them. The care staff is attentive and supports my mom's needs. She's made new friends. The community recently changed ownership and costs went up. The only downside is the food, which is kind of bland. Other than that, we're very happy with Elderwood Assisted Living.

"Smooth Transition, Great Staff, Bland Food."
Mom's settling into Elderwood smoothly. Staff helped us lots. They explained things well, like Veterans' benefits, and had a plan. Lots to do here, and Mom's enjoying it. The care staff are always there for her and she's made new friends. Only downside is the food—it's a bit bland. Overall, we're happy with Elderwood Assisted Living.

"A Great Place for My Sister's New Home"
Elderwood Assisted Living at Hamburg was recommended by A Place for Mom for my sister’s move back to NY. It’s close to our home, making family visits easier. We met with the residential sales manager, who gave us a tour. The staff and residents were all very friendly and helpful. My sister’s room is spacious and bright. She enjoys three meals and snacks daily, and her medications are managed so we don’t worry about her forgetting or taking too much. Although she’s only been there a few weeks and is still adjusting, she seems to like it and the people there.
