This place was really good two years ago. But now, things aren't going so well. There have been a lot of changes in the staff, and it's causing problems. Right now, it seems like they don't have a dietitian, and their nursing and cleaning staff are very limited.

I'm always calming my mom down after she interacts with the awful staff at this place. They don't care about the residents' needs. They think they're running a boot camp, not a spot that should be looking after our older relatives during hard times. With the pandemic, the staff just don't get that the residents are suffering from having to stay in their rooms. Zero activities. It's like a jail. And the sensitive staff get all superior when a senior gets angry, but they can come and go whenever they want. If you want your loved one to spend their last years feeling sad, alone, neglected, and mocked, send them to Elderwood Tonawanda NY.

"Aunt Chooses Elderwood for Recovery"
The folks at Elderwood were great to deal with. They made us feel at ease and were super helpful. The place is clean, sunny, and cheerful. We liked the extras and the friendly staff. The only downside is it's not close to a bus stop. My aunt plans to stay here for her recovery.

This place is nice and works well if someone can do more things on their own, but for my mom, we need a place that makes sure the doors lock and has activities specially made for people with memory problems.

"Small Shared Rooms, Long Wait for Medicaid"
I visited a nice assisted living facility. gave me a tour, but the shared rooms were very small! I applied and now I'm on a 6-8 month waiting list for a Medicaid room. They try to match people up for shared rooms, and everything is on one floor. I mailed in my application, and they're keeping it on file. In February, I'll take ALAN to see the facility when our son is in town.

"Assisted Living Facility Falls Short in Care and Communication"
My family member didn't get all the care they needed. Staff didn't communicate well. Some meals were okay, others not. Only two caregivers on weekends, couldn't help everyone promptly. Medication wasn't given as prescribed. They liked the activities, though. Overall, not a good experience.

I recently visited Tonawanda Manor and was really impressed by the bright atmosphere and friendly staff! I couldn't wait to apply for my mom! I know she'll be very happy there! The facility is bright and welcoming, with a beauty salon and even an ice cream parlor, which my mom will love! The rooms are spacious and beautiful, and the dining room was lovely. Even though there's a waitlist since my mom doesn't have private insurance, it's worth the wait!
