"Mixed Experience at Assisted Living: Good Housekeeping, Communication Lacking"

The staff had mixed friendliness; some language barriers. Care varied. When urgent, responses lacking. Housekeeping good, daily cleaning. Limited family communication. Open visitation hours. Smooth move-in, good meals. Nice, spacious apartment. Staff patience needed. Delivery charges for ill residents questioned. Encouraged use of staff doctor, availability an issue. Recommended for healthier residents.

"Assisted Living Facility Falls Short on Quality and Care"

During our stay, there were bed bugs twice and mice. Some residents were undernourished. Activities were limited to twice a week. Kitchen staff stole food. Aids turned off intercoms at night to avoid helping residents. Only one aid for 50 residents overnight. I wouldn't recommend this place.

"Cozy Community with Attentive Staff"

My family member is really happy living here. The workers are very caring and she is very pleased with them. She doesn't join in the activities, but there are many to choose from. This place is smaller, and she likes that because she can get to know the other people who live here better. It's not as busy as the bigger places, which she finds less stressful.

"Caring Staff and Catholic Focus"

I was really impressed with the staff here. They were kind and caring and seemed very interested and involved with the residents. They seemed to offer more care than my loved one needed. It was also more focused on the Catholic religion.

"Mixed Feelings About Promenade Assisted Living"

Promenade seemed nice. The staff were friendly and lots of things were offered. But my mom wouldn't use all of them, so it felt like paying for what we didn't need. They do have a fancy dining room residents can rent for family dinners. Rooms were okay size with private bathrooms.

"Consider Other Assisted Living Options Over This One"

This place is why you'd want to check out other assisted living homes.

"Cozy Assisted Living with Helpful Staff"

Promenade felt cozy, and Sadie gave a helpful tour. It’s a good deal, though some updates are needed.

"Avoid this outdated facility lacking security and proper care."

Stay away! This place smells bad, looks old, and lacks security after 6 pm. There are no cameras, so anyone can come and go. The staff doesn't really care, they're just in it for the money. You have to nag them to take care of your family. The halls smell like pee, and the food is terrible despite them calling it "gourmet." Staff spends more time chatting than working. They don't help much if your relative has trouble hearing. The doctors rush through appointments. Look elsewhere.

"Temporary Stay Recommended, Major Improvements Needed"

Okay for a brief stay. The food definitely needs improvement. The management isn't being truthful. It seems like the nurse and doctor aren't concerned about your health. Definitely not suitable for long-term residence.

"Charming Assisted Living Facility with Friendly Staff and Great Amenities"

The facility in Tuxedo, NY, is really nice. It used to be a hospital from the 1940s, but they’ve made updates since then. We liked that it’s not too big—just 69 residents, so it feels cozy and not too institutional. The rooms are clean and spacious. All the fees cover weekly housekeeping, three meals a day plus snacks, 24-hour staff, weekly laundry, a life enrichment program, and your room. Extra costs are for medication management and personal care. There are four pricing options: $3330 a month for a private suite, $4020 a month for a deluxe suite, $600-$1800 a month for personal care, and $600 a month for medication management. The staff is friendly and helpful. Residents stay busy with exercises, activities, movies, BBQs, Wine & Cheese nights, and two trips a week—one for shopping and one for fun. It’s a lovely place on a hill with two decks for relaxing and BBQs in the summer, surrounded by trees.

"Cozy Assisted Living with Comprehensive Amenities in Tuxedo, NY"

Very nice facility located in Tuxedo, NY, originally a hospital in the 1940s. The buildings are older but have been updated. We liked that there are only 69 residents, which makes it feel less overwhelming and not like a big institution. The rooms are very clean and spacious. Fees cover everything, including weekly housekeeping, three meals a day plus snacks, 24-hour staff, weekly laundry, life enrichment programs, and the room itself. Additional services like medication management and personal care are available for an extra cost. There are four pricing tiers, starting from $3330 per month for a private suite to $4020 per month for a deluxe suite. Personal care ranges from $600 to $1800 per month, and medication management costs $600 monthly. The staff here are friendly and helpful, and they keep residents engaged with activities like exercise, movies, BBQs, Wine & Cheese nights, and two weekly trips for shopping and recreation. Overall, it's a really nice place, nestled on a hill with two decks for lounging and BBQs during the summer months, surrounded by lots of trees.

"Limited Services, Large Room, Affordable"

The assisted living facility costs $948 per month, but it doesn't offer any services. They have one large bedroom available, and your income can't exceed $36,000. If you're interested, you can request an application for vacancies.

"Untrustworthy facility; immature staff and manager need replacement."

AVOID this place. They're dishonest and immature. The manager seriously needs to be replaced immediately.

"Nice Facade, Major Issues - Lost Belongings and Bed Bugs Abound"

This so-called "fancy food" is usually just sandwiches. There's always something going wrong with people's stuff getting "lost". And if those problems aren't enough, watch out for bed bugs - believe me, that's not a joke. The place may look okay when you walk around, but let me tell you, there's bigger problems going on that you don't see at first glance.

"False Front: Bed Bugs and Lost Belongings"

The fancy meals here are often just sandwiches. Stuff belonging to the folks living here keeps getting lost. To top it off, you have to keep an eye out for bed bugs which isn't a joke. The place looks good when you first see it, but as you stick around, you start to notice some serious problems.

"“Lovely Setup!”"

When we toured this place, our main focus was on the price and the quality of care. The staff were all super friendly, and the facility itself was very nice. However, the cost of care, medication, and the monthly fee ended up being too high. Still, I really liked the setup.

"Convenient, Lovely Assisted Living - Great Experience with Friendly Staff"

I had a really nice visit to this place. Everything went smoothly. The people there were super nice to me and my family. The place looked really nice, and everything was well taken care of. The staff I met were really nice and polite. It's a good place, but I found another one closer to where I live.

"Good Tour"

I had a great tour of this community. The place looked neat and tidy. The staff was super friendly and helpful. They showed me around, answered my questions, and provided useful information. Overall, it was a pleasant experience, and this community is nice.

"Just Okay Facilities Need Upgrades and More Activities"

My visit to this place was alright. They need to modernize the place a bit. It's clean from what I could see, but it has room to look nicer. The people working there were nice and welcoming. However, they didn't have a lot of activities to do, which was a letdown. All in all, it's a fair place, but they could step it up a notch.

"More windows and a fresh coat of paint, please!"

During our visit, the place seemed kinda gloomy. Not many windows for sunlight, and it's an old building. But hey, it was tidy, and the folks we met were friendly.

"Room for Improvement"

We’ve had trouble communicating with the staff. The place is okay, and they’re friendly, but there’s room for improvement.

"Experiences in a Month"

My mom isn't checked on as promised. Towels, bath mat, and washcloths are missing. Late one night, her eye drops were nowhere to be found. When I finally figured out the issue two days later, it turns out they had found them but never informed me. Now she has duplicate bottles in her medicine stash. I also lost a pair of black pants and socks, but there's no lost and found. It seems not many people leave folded clothes lying around. Our experience was limited to the living room.

"Overrun With Bugs: Failure to Fumigate Causes Havoc"

This place is crawling with bed bugs and ants, from one corner of the apartment to the other. Try as we might, they simply won't fumigate, mumbling something about problems reaching the apartment or getting the bug-killing supplies. This is by far the worst experience, even the local Times newspaper vouched for its infestation problem.

"Lacking Support: No Transportation or Fun Group Activities"

This place is too independent. They don't provide transportation or group activities.

"Impressed with the care staff and their thoroughness"

I am very impressed with the care staff. They found some health issues my mom didn't know she had and gave her the right tests and medications to fix them. My sister and I feel good about choosing the right place for our mom to recover from her heart attack.

"Promenade Impresses with Great Staff and Independent Living Option"

I really enjoyed my time at the Promenade. Scarlett and Nicole were fantastic. Nicole explained the independent living option, and I'm convinced it's all my parents need right now. Although my parents aren't keen on moving from Pennsylvania to New York, a place like this might change their minds. My sister plans to visit here too.

"Close to Home"

We picked the Promenade at Tuxedo Place because it suited our needs best. It’s super close to our house, so we can be nearby. Everything Mom needs is right here. We’re really pleased with our decision and would totally recommend it.

"Great place, but only suitable for smokers."

The assisted living facility was really nice, but I think it's better suited for people who smoke. I have asthma, so I wouldn't be able to stay there very long. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the place itself was very beautiful. I wish I could have lived there.

"Considering assisted living for husband after director's thorough assessment."

I talked a lot with the director today and think this could be a good place for us, depending on how she thinks my husband is doing. I visited this place a few months ago to see what it's like, but I'll come back again if they can take care of him well.
