"Mom Dislikes Food, Pricy but Great Service in Assisted Living"

The staff at the front desk, housekeepers, and cleaners are top-notch, I wish I could rate them higher than 5 stars. However, my mom really doesn't like the food they serve here. Also, it's a bit expensive.

"Great care but record-keeping and document handling need improvement"

The staff here are friendly and give good attention to the patients. However, their record-keeping could be better, especially making sure records go with the patient to the hospital. Despite this, I still think the place deserves a good rating. It’s a really nice facility, and they offer good care. My family member had a beautiful room—a big suite that was almost half the price of a similar room at a different facility that was not helpful at all. Just know that as an assisted living facility, they aren’t certified to do certain things like giving food through a feeding tube or mashing up food. They can chop food, but not mash or puree it. Also, I didn’t realize it at first, but it’s important to have a photocopy of important documents and ID (like a driver’s license and vaccination card) for elderly relatives, and make sure their photo ID is up-to-date. If not, your relative will have to go to the DMV to get a new one. So, make sure all their records and documents are in order before you need them. My family member was very happy there, but I did have some issues with communication and record-keeping.

"Assisted living at its best"

A passionate and caring staff is always willing to go above and beyond, they are dedicated to their work. Engaging activities for residents and excellent dining facilities and easy to get to off Sunrise Highway. The maintenance and cleaning staff are very friendly. Their health and wellness center is one of the best. This is a top recommendation when it comes to assisted living!

"The Arbors in Bohemia, a Warm and Welcoming Place"

My dad stayed at The Arbors recently for a short time, and my experience as a concerned family member was positive. The Arbors in Bohemia is a lovely place. The staff was friendly and reassuring during my interactions with them while my father was there. It’s clear that they have extensive experience caring for residents. The facility is spacious, beautiful, and peaceful. They offer engaging activities for the residents. I wish my dad could have stayed longer; it would have been a wonderful place for him.

"Assisted Living Facility Made Dad's Move Easy, Highly Recommended!"

I had a tour planned at 10 AM, but it turned into another tour and lunch for my dad who's moving in. Thanks for the recommendation during this hard time

"Wonderful Assisted Living with Outstanding Activities Director"

When we found the Arbors at Bohemia, we were relieved. Mom could afford a shared room, and the facility is all on one level. Her roommate was lovely, and they had different meal times but got along well for the few years they were together. My biggest praise goes to [Removed], the Activities Director. She is warm, patient, and very busy with the residents, always finding new ways to keep them engaged. [Removed] is one of Mom's favorites, along with Carmen and a few others whose names I can't recall (sorry!). The departments, from reception to business to wellness, have all been really good, if not perfect. Moving into assisted living is never anyone’s first choice, and it takes time to adjust. Giving up driving, homes, and independence is very tough.

"Decent facility, some improvements needed"

The Arbors at Bohemia is a pretty good place where my mom is adjusting well. The food is alright, not as good as what my mom is used to. The staff is nice and helpful to my mom. There are lots of things to do, and the staff encourages residents to join in if they want to. They also provide rides for shopping trips. I thought my mom would have her own room, but she shares, and she doesn't seem to mind. The community is conveniently close to me. I think other people would like this place too.

"Friendly Staff and Happy Residents Make Transition Easier"

My mom has been here for a month now. The staff has been really welcoming and warm, which has made our family feel much better. Besides the great staff, the other residents seem very happy, and that shows how good the place is. Thanks for making this change easier for us.

My mom's new home at the Arbors has room for improvement.

"Mixed Experience at The Arbors Assisted Living Facility"

My dad's been at The Arbors in Bohemia for a year. He doesn't like the food—it's not hot when served, and that's not just his opinion. I've told them, but they didn't do much about it. Twice now, they've canceled outings last minute. They said it was because the chaperone had a meeting. It's disappointing for residents who were excited to go out. It feels like the people in charge care more about meetings than us. The Arbors has a lot of services included, but sometimes they're not great. Today, I'm just really let down by the service—or lack of it.

"Great Place for Dad"

Everything is going pretty good for my father at this community. The place looks great, very well-kept, and nice and clean. Most of the staff are pleasant and very helpful. He hasn't tried the activities yet, but they are encouraging him to join in. The food is nice, and everyone says it smells and tastes good. I would recommend this community.

"Mom’s First Week at The Arbors in Bohemia"

My mom is turning 90 in September, and I finally realized she needed Assisted Living care. We visited The Arbors, just 10 minutes from home. Melissa showed us a perfect room. After lunch with a resident, Mom agreed to move in. The staff has been incredibly nice, making the tough transition easier. Mom is adjusting and starting to socialize. Thanks to The Arbors, life is getting a bit easier again.

"Clean, friendly facility; worth considering for loved ones' care needs"

We checked out this place while searching for care for a family member. The Arbors at Bohemia seemed pretty good. The place was clean and tidy, and the staff were really nice and ready to help. If you're looking for care nearby, they're definitely worth checking out

"I’d Be a Resident If Needed!"

My mom stayed here for 6 months before she got sick and moved to hospice care. The staff is kind and encourages residents to join activities. They’ll even help residents leave their rooms if necessary. The rooms are big enough for walkers. The food menus are diverse, and they work with residents on dietary needs. The place looks nice, and security is good. Doctors visit a few days a week, and laundry is well-done without any problems. Overall, I’d be okay living here!

"Everything is going well so far"

The facility is clean, and the staff is friendly. There have been a few issues with how the food is cooked. They are great at communicating with us and taking care of my dad. They’ve been accommodating and responsive. We liked the location, the single-story building, and the nice grounds. They didn’t try to impress with flashy things.

"Staff shortages and organizational needs at Arbors Bohemia"

The Arbors Bohemia looks nice and smells clean, but there aren't enough staff in the wellness area. It's important to have someone always available to answer the phone and talk to relatives, but they seem short-staffed in this area. Sometimes, they even lock the door to the wellness office to give out meds, and it feels like there aren't enough staff members to care for everyone who needs it. They also only have two different doctors that come in to treat the patients, which doesn't seem like enough. There's a lot of paperwork in that area, and it seems like they need to hire more people to be better organized.

"Warm and Welcoming Assisted Living with Caring Staff"

Today, I toured with Melissa. This place looks nice. The grounds are pleasant, and they genuinely seem to care about the residents. I also checked out the one in Islandia, but it didn't feel like the right fit. It's too close to a busy road, which wouldn't suit him.

"Great for recreation, but wellness needs improvement"

The recreation here is great, but the wellness department needs improvement. I had to constantly ask them to shave her, and they wouldn’t trim her nails. The Arbors is a good place if you don’t need much help. Karen, who handles recreation, is amazing! I’ve heard some complaints about the food, but some people will find fault with anything. If you can take care of yourself, this is a great place. We loved it!
