"Mixed Experience: Praise for Staff, Critique on Structure at Assisted Home"
Our family member didn't stay long in this assisted living home because it wasn't suitable for her. We paid a high cost for the month she was there. One big issue was that the residents couldn't choose when to eat. Our family member had to eat breakfast very early. The caregivers would rouse her with a cold shower, which we didn't like at all. It seemed to us there weren't enough caregivers for all the residents. It was a tough time overall. But, we must say there were three amazing staff members - a nurse, the night supervisor, and the activities director - who were just wonderful. They were great with our family member and even recognized this place wasn't right for her. The place was kept nice and clean and the activities they offered were ok.

"Pre-COVID Activities and Restrictions"
Before COVID, we had more fun things to do like going out, watching movies, listening to talks, and visiting our family members whenever we wanted. But now, because of COVID rules, we're stuck with not much to do and it's been hard not seeing our loved ones as often.

"Great Cleanliness, Mixed Care, Food Choices"
The place was super clean all the time. People were always busy cleaning, vacuuming, and painting. The dining room, kitchen, and my mom’s room were always spotless. The staff who organized activities were really helpful. They made sure Mom had things to do and even assisted her when she needed it. The care was good, but not quite enough for my mom. If you just need regular assisted living, they’re great. Mom wasn’t a fan of the food, but there were plenty of options, and most other residents seemed to like it.

"Lacks activities, staff, quality food, flexibility, and responsive management."
Not enough fun stuff, limited staff, bad food, rigid schedule, unresponsive management.

"Assisted Living Facility Review"
This place is kinda okay. The workers seem distant. They don't help with nail trimming. They push you to use their salon often. There's nowhere quiet for phone calls. But it's clean, thankfully. They do have stuff to do. Visitors, be watchful and check it out.

Mom is doing really well since she moved here. She stays busy with the activities they offer and has made some friends. She loves the food. The location is great because it's not far from where I live, so I can visit often. The staff is nice and friendly, and they make you feel welcome when you're there.

"Lovely Assisted Living: Affordable, Clean, Friendly Staff"
The Bristol at Lynbrook was really pretty. It looked nice and the inside decorations were nice too. The tour they took us on told us a lot of useful stuff. The people working there were nice and the place was clean and tidy. We picked it because it was affordable.

"Safe, Kind, and Pleasant Assisted Living Community"
My aunt is still getting used to living here, but I'm happy with everything they've done for us. I hope she starts using all the things they offer soon. The staff here really helps her join in with everyone. I haven't met anyone mean here. They all pay good attention and are nice. She really likes the food; it's good. They keep everything very clean. The place looks nice and cheerful. Her room is nice and always looks good. I know she's safe and in a good place, and I would tell others to come here.

"Limited Medical Services Impact Review of Assisted Living Facility"
I really liked visiting this community. The people working there were friendly and the place was really clean. It was one of our favorite places to consider living, but they can't give insulin shots, which is something we need.

was super helpful and sent all the info right away. Another place didn't share details, just invited us to tour. Moving in went smoothly, and the staff, especially , made it easy for my mom.

"Smooth Transition and Excellent Service at The Bristal Assisted Living"
My experience with The Bristal was really good. The person in charge was great. She was the only one from any place that gave me ALL the important info when I asked the first time. There's still one place that hasn't given me this info after I asked twice. They just keep asking me to come for a visit. Starting the process and moving in has been okay. Dealing with the managers and the workers has been very good. I want to mention their staff especially, who has been working hard to make my mom's move as easy as possible. I'm happy with how everything has gone.

"Thank goodness for Bristal of Lynbrook’s caring staff."
All the staff at Bristal are wonderful. Mom is staying there after a stroke, and we were worried about finding proper care while we worked. The food, activities, and entertainment are excellent, but the best part is the staff’s dedication and care. Bristal of Lynbrook was exactly what we needed!

"Mother’s Care Issues"
My mom lives in this community. Most of the staff are nice, but sometimes they don’t speak very kindly to the residents. The building gets too hot, and they can’t control the heat. The director is great. However, the wellness center staff aren’t always friendly. I don’t think it’s good for my mom to hear that. On the positive side, they offer her lots of activities. Overall, there are some improvements needed. I want my mom to feel comfortable with the care she receives here.

"Beautiful Rooms, Dim Lighting"
I liked this community a lot. My sisters and I felt good about the place. Everyone was friendly, and the rooms were beautiful. I did notice that there were no windows to look out of, and the lighting seemed dim throughout the facility.

"Review of The Bristal at Lynbrook - Lynbrook, NY"
Pretty nice, but it's too big. It's better for someone who lost a spouse and doesn't want to live in a house. Not set up well for people with memory care needs.

"Needs Fresh Veggies in Assisted Living"
I'm not there often, but from what I saw, she seems fine with everything. The food could be better, and they need more fresh vegetables, like salads. Everything at the facility is either cooked or sandwiches. They grew up eating big bowls of salad, so the facility should include that.

"Satisfied Overall: Good Care, Want More Activities for Alzheimer's"
This place is okay. They take care of my mom well. Her room's always clean, and she gets her meds on time. But they don't have much for her to do, especially since she has Alzheimer's. She can't play cards or bingo. She likes moving around a lot, so I wish they had more stuff like music and dancing. Parking's a bit of a pain sometimes, not enough space. But there's a nice porch area outside where she can walk safely. They have good food options too, which is nice.

"So glad to see my Aunt thriving and happy!"
My Aunt has been living at The Bristal Assisted Living in Lynbrook, NY, since late January. Before that, she lived at home but often wandered away at night and was very scared and upset due to her dementia. Choosing to move her was incredibly hard, but we worried she might get seriously hurt or worse in the cold winter. We had home care, but it wasn’t enough, and she wasn’t happy. We’re relieved to say my Aunt is doing well at The Bristal Lynbrook. The staff is wonderful and caring, helping her with activities like dancing, music, and games. She’s safe and can’t wander away, which is a huge relief. My sister even sent a video of my Aunt dancing, and it brought tears of joy to see her so happy! Dementia is a terrible disease, and everyone handles it in their own way. We’re really pleased with how well my Aunt is cared for here and would recommend this place to anyone needing this kind of care. Visitors are welcome anytime, and the atmosphere is positive. The staff treats everyone with respect and kindness, which is so important.

"Great Place for Routine and Services"
Things have worked out well so far with The Bristal at Lynbrook. My loved one likes to complain, but I can tell she is settling in and doing alright here. They have her on a good routine, and she does well with that. She's had good things to say about the food, and they offer services I really like, such as free cabs on certain days for shopping trips. The only complaint I have is that it can be hard to get information from them about the specifics of care.

"Great staff and clean place, but studio request was missed"
The facility is good overall, and the staff is really nice. My only issue is that we asked for a studio, but they gave us a bigger one-bedroom, so it’s more expensive. The place is very clean and the staff has been great. The food is okay—nothing special but not terrible, and there are plenty of choices. It’s up to the residents to take advantage of the activities offered. The place is bright and cheerful with lots of yellow and green. There are many staff members, and compared to other places I visited, the Bristal seemed more genuine.

"Top-notch assisted living with friendly staff and delicious meals"
My family and I were super comfy from the start. The place is neat, cozy, and friendly. My aunt’s studio apartment is big and fancy. Food options are great and the bistro is a nice bonus. The staff is nice, remember everyone’s name, and make sure everyone feels at home. Out of all the places around here, this one is the best deal for sure.

"Affordable Assisted Living with Amenities"
Monthly Cost: $2,695 for a semi-private room. The apartment has a refrigerator, microwave, kitchen sink, cabinets, and a kitchen table. There are fun activities, walking areas, and a lively community. Everything is covered except for daily assistance with bathing, dressing, and grooming or medication help. I can manage the meds, and my dad might handle bathing and grooming soon. Meds are stored in his apartment, and there’s a $1,000 deposit. Semi-private rooms available now, with a refundable 3-week deposit.

"Mixed Feelings about Assisted Living Facility"
I toured with their staff, and while I didn't see any major issues, there were more activities available compared to Sunrise. However, most residents were older than my aunt. She might prefer a place where she can be more independent. The memory care floor seemed better suited for those in later stages of dementia, which is not where my aunt is right now. This facility is large with a beautiful balcony, lots of staff, and many activities like lunch and bingo.

"Beautifully decorated, great food, but some issues to consider"
The place is beautifully decorated. The lunch meal was delicious, and the chef was very friendly and helpful. Most of the residents were women who used walkers to get around. The backyard and courtyard were lovely. There was a Halloween party with a DJ happening while we were there. Many residents seemed quiet and reserved. However, there was a smell of urine in the ladies' bathroom on the first floor. The director was very informative and gave a great presentation. The room size was okay, and the rates were daily. There's a 5% discount for veterans, and they have a daily tidy service.
