"Mixed Feelings About Assisted Living Facility"

The workers were nice. Each person gets their own room. Food was simple, but not everyone liked it. They asked residents to join activities. The place could've been cleaner and needs some updates. But, all in all, it's an okay spot to be.

"Nice, homey place with private TVs and activities"

Private bedrooms have their own TVs and there's also a TV room. You can bring your own furniture if it fits. They have planned activities. The place feels homey, bright, and clean.

"Care staff rushing our elderly loved ones. Disappointing!"

Why does my grandmother have dinner at 4pm and bedtime at 6pm? It seems as if the staff just wants to dismiss them.

"Quiet, clean, caring assisted living with good food and value."

I like A Place For Mom for helping my uncle find a good home. He's happy there and the staff are kind. It's peaceful but kinda lonely with only 12 people. Everything seems clean. My uncle enjoys the food. Good care for a low price. Recommend for quiet living.

"Warm Staff but Sterile Environment, Not Ideal for Mom"

Paul was really nice and acted like a pro. But the place felt kinda cold and empty. Didn't seem right for my mom.

"Great care, clean facility, lots of activities, and affordable"

This is a really nice assisted living home. It's clean, and the staff is friendly and helpful. They offer many activities, and there’s an activities coordinator. Residents can use two patios to enjoy the beautiful natural surroundings in summer. The rooms have cable TV with no extra fee, and the home provides furnishings for free, though you can bring your own if you want. They handle laundry, room cleaning, medication assistance, and local transportation with Geauga Transit. Residents can go on group outings and field trips. The facility has a clean state audit with no violations. The staff is experienced and well-staffed. They don’t accept people who wander, but they do care for those with dementia. It’s very affordable for the level of care provided. They even offer referrals.

"Mixed Experience at Chesterland Assisted Living Facility"

We went there a few weeks ago. The house looked old and worn, and it's on a weird private road in Chesterland, next to a big truck driveway. I almost got hit by a truck! The people working there were nice, but honestly, it's the shabbiest place I've ever seen. The price is fair, but you don't get much just a small 10x10 room, a tiny closet, and only 4 bathrooms 2 showers! for 16 people. That means four people sharing one toilet. Seems kind of tight. The common areas are small and all over the place. The surroundings, like most places around here, are pretty with trees and stuff. Probably looks even better in the summer. They have two fireplaces, but they don't work. Common areas are small. Everything looked kind of old, like they got it from a thrift store. They want you to use THEIR stuff, so don't plan on bringing much from home. This might be okay if the person living there doesn't know where they are because of dementia and doesn't care anymore. But for the family, it's like leaving your loved one in old-timey Russia...in the 1950s. The biggest problem is they don't offer rides to the doctor or hospital, so you're on your own and Chesterland is far from everything. Honestly, for a nice neighborhood, I expected something fancier. But if your family member doesn't need much and doesn't care about the room or space and isn't bringing much from home, the prices are some of the best I've seen – and they don't tack on a ton of extra fees. Since it's small, they probably give each person enough attention. It's run by a family.

"Inadequate Care for Dementia Patients at Assisted Living Facility"

The workers here are unfit to handle people with dementia, despite what the head of the facility may say. They constantly sent my parent to the hospital saying they were "violent." Yet, the hospital never mentioned such behavior. There is an ongoing investigation by the patient advocate.

"Affordable but Crowded Assisted Living"

The care seemed okay. The place was crowded and not very nice, but I would have been okay with it if I thought it was the best we could afford.

"Friendly Staff, Facility Needs Improvement"

The boss was nice, but the place looked old and wasn’t very clean.

"Solid day care option with comprehensive care and limited activities."

This facility appears great for day care needs. They can keep my mom as long as necessary, even overnight, providing all essential amenities, including a bed for naps. There are few activities offered, and they do not provide transportation, which might be acceptable. Additionally, they accept dementia patients who do not wander.
